In his academy days Kokuo was one of the most exceptional students in his class. A very intelligent child, he passed all of his written tests with ease although he wasn't always top grade in his class. The physical portion of things however was another thing altogether. He always outscored everyone. Weather it be jutsu, Shuriken, Kunai, Camoflouge, Taijutsu, he was always the top of the class.
After his academy days came to an end he was placed on a squad with a member of the Kaguya clan, and a member of the Yuki clan with the jounin being one of the most powerful shinobi in the village. He was a very determined genin. It didn't take long for his two squad mates to see his skill and leadership quality. It was then he became second in charge of the squad. Their sensei soon took a favoring of him began to train him solely in his change of chakra nature. Because he already possessed water style chakra as most people in the village already did they worked on his second change in nature (lightning). They kept this a secret not wanting to make the other two members of the team jealous. When his team had finally made the requirements to get into the chuunin exams which were in the sunagakure. For his team the first stage of the exam was easy, all of them passed without a problem. During the second stage of the exam his team excelled. They succeeded in gaining the two scrolls within the first few hours, but he got the idea of eliminating the competition. The continued to go through the battle grounds and killed about 4 other teams before meeting at the tower for the third exam. Because they finished so early they were able to rest for two days when the 2nd stage finally ended. In the third stage tournament, he came out as victor of the entire stage. He was the first of his team to become a chuunin. It wasn't for another two months that the other members of his squad became chuunin. After 3 more more months of constant missions and proving himself, he finally took the jounin exam with his sponser being his former sensei. He successfully passed his exam and was now one of the youngest jounin in the village being as he was 16.
As a jounin he went on even more missions. He was constantly out of the village on some new mission. He quickly grew in experience, and prestige as he successfully completed mission after mission with minimal loss. One day one mission went horribly wrong. It was an assassination mission. He lead a squad of two other jounin and two chuunin (his two former squad mates). When they reached the caravan of the man they were supposed to kill they attacked only to find out it was a trap. Multiple shinobi from Iwagakure showed up to assist the members of his squad in his own assassination. He had grown to powerful for the comfort of the village and the mizukage had told them to kill him. Angered by his knowledge he fought the many shinobi that surrounded him. At the end of the battle he stood bloodied and wounded. He had killed every single person. The gorge they stood in was filled with the blood and bodies that remained. It was obvious he had no reason to go back home.
He decided to wander around not tied to any village. After what happened he could no longer trust any nation or government. All he wanted now was to find strong allies and bring the village to it knee's. He needed to make sure his never happened to any other person again no matter what village they were from. He would be the new defender of the weak and wrong sought.
