She stood, long grass brushing lightly, tickling, against her fetlocks as a slight breeze swept across the meadow. After her encounter with the curly-haired winged Soquili who mysteriously changed sizes, she'd continued to wander, still searching for somewhere that felt like home. Deep in her heart, Roxana knew that one day she would find a family and a place to roam, although how she knew, she couldn't explain. It had stopped bothering her long ago that she couldn't remember her past, and she focused only on the present and the future.
She'd happened upon this meadow a few days before. The long, sweet grass and the small pond made it an ideal place for her to rest. She'd spent time exploring the meadow, finding holes in the ground from moles and groundhogs. The ring of young trees that surrounded the meadow had also drawn her attention, and she'd wandered a little, treading quietly and listening to the birds chirping happily, and noting the dens and trails of rabbits and foxes. Today she wasn't sure what she would do, but she wasn't ready to move on from this charming meadow quite yet.
