Sueno stretched and yawned as she hoped out of bed. What should she do today? Her brother was at the healers, so not able to spend time with her. The farm was waiting for spring so nothing to do in her garden or at home for a while. Her taming teacher was busy settling in new Hastars into their ranch and had told her to stay away for a while since she wasn't proficient enough to handler wild Hastars.

She dressed and wandered outside to feed her fairy dragons and Videe. "What am Ah gonna do today? Or this week? There's nothing planned! And there's no need to go shopping..." She asked Moulor, the largest of her fairy dragons. Moulor looked at her and chuckled in a deep hissing voice before growling playfully and pouncing on her head.
"Ah know! Ah'll go see if Avani wants tah go and try capturing an animal with me! Maybe a Fekerat... Ma wouldn't object to one of those Ah'm sure!"

She asked her parent's permission to go spend the day with Avani and ran off down the small dirt road towards Avani's house.
She knocked on the door and asked the parent who opened it if Avani was able to spend the day with her.

Sueno grinned and waited until they'd left the mother's earshot. She didn't want the mother to get worried and say no if she knew Sueno was going to drag her daughter into the wilderness nearby....
"Gonna go and try to catch a Fekarat! Or something small and not too dangerous so Ma can't say no to keepin' it! Gonna be going into the wilderness, so we gotta keep an eye out fer danger. Ye up fer it?" She hope Avani was. It'd be more fun going with someone instead of trying it on her own. Plus two heads and two sets of hands were sure to be better at catching an animal than one!

Sueno grabbed Avani's hand and skipped off the road into the forest.
"Let's ago this way. On the other side of the river are Vlideans, and those are too mean fer me right now. Ah heard some hunters say that they found Fekarats near here." Hopefully the hunters had cleared out the dragons too... Or scared them off. Not that she was going to let a dragon ruin her plans for today!

The forest got quieter and the trees taller and thicker the further in they wandered. There was some snow on the ground, though not alot. The bushes were all sticks and dead leaves, making it easier for them to spot tracks or wild animals.

"Ah brought some stuff that we can use as traps! Ye know anything about trappin' Avani?" Sueno knew a little bit, though not much. She had been learning how to tame creatures not capture them. Though she'd manage to get some knowledge of trapping from her teacher and random hunters she waylaid as they passed by her farm.

Sueno giggled, "Ah dinna know much either! Just a few simple traps and snares.... not sure how they'll work on Fekerats since they stay in trees, but maybe we can catch somethin' else if we can't get one of them!"

After a few more minutes traveling deeper into the chilly forest, Sueno stopped and pulled off her pack. Pulling out some wires and triggers, she showed Avani the snares she'd been taught to make. "Let's set these up in or near the berry bushes near here. Animals are sure to come for food so we got a good chance at catching one Ah think." She whispered to Avani and gestured towards the bushes. There was also a large ruit tree near there and a small stream.. perfect place for an animal to come and feed themselves, Sueno thought with a small smile as she tried her best to sneak near the tree to set up a small snare midst its roots.

After Sueno set up her traps she grinned and waved Avani over.
"Now we go away and trap elsewhere! Put lots of traps all over and we get better chance to catch something! We'll come back here and check out the traps and see what we caught later." She whispered as she grabbed her bag and finished pilling a light layer of leaves and dirt over her traps to hopefully hide them. They were easy for the trained(and not so trained) eye to spot. But as this was her first try with out a more experienced person with her, it wasn't bad at all!

She dragged her slightly smaller friend about her as she wandered about the forest. She got distracted when she found some seedlings of plants she just had to have in her garden. She gently dug out the small plants, wrapped the roots in a damp cloth and placed it in her bag. By now the time nearing midafternoon and she thought it would be a good thing to go and recheck the traps they'd placed.
"Let's go on back and check on the traps Avani." She said with a carefree grin as she skipped back the way they'd come, "It'll be a while till we get back to the first traps but we got the rest of the afternoon to play with!" If not, than she'd had a fun day of wandering about with her friend!

Sueno heard the growls as they approached. She grinned and reached out to pull Avani faster towards the traps, "We got somethin'!"

She dashed into the glade and skidded to a halt. "Uh-oh." It wasn't a small Fekerat that she'd expected, but instead a large and rather pissed off looking Garghon. The large reptilian was known for its mean temperament and wild mood swings.
"Not what we wanted at all!" Sueno said as sh swallowed nervously.
It's foot had gotten caught in a snare. It was strong enough to tear it off, which it did, but the fact that it'd been restrained ruined the Garghons mood and it hissed menacingly at the girls as it took a step forward.

"Yeah.. runnin' would be a good idea..." She said as she turned, grabbed Avani's hand, and booked it out of there. The Garghon screeched and chased for a little bit before slowing don, growling and turning away to go further into the woods.

Sueno, after a while, slowed down and tried to catch her breath. "Well," She panted, "Ah think we got away... Drat...Ah was hoping fer somethin' small an furry.. not that beast!" She giggled, "Don't tell yer Ma about this!" She said with a grin. "Ah dinna think she'll be happy about it!"
