Slave to the Grind was a fun place in any case. It was tiny, barely enough room to squeeze in past the line to look around, only a couple tables inside and in this weather not even the memory of seating outside. But the people inside were varied, an assortment of students and teenagers, packed together in groups with scarves still wrapped around their throats and heads pulled low, glaring at the door every time it was opened. It was too cold for that s**t.

The drinks were hot and it meant the place was busy, three people all but tripping over each other behind the counter to mix up drinks as fast as they were ordered. Arian was only just now entering, so he wouldn't realize that the line had actually thinned, slowed. The end was in sight.

Jude certainly needed it. The mess of his hair was stuck to his forehead, and while it was cold near the door, where he he was standing was sweltering. He had a scarf on anyway, looped several times around his throat, covering his neck to his chin. He looked like it might strangle him.

Arian would hit the bar and Jude -- nametag on his chest -- would give him a harried sort of look. Four people behind him and then, maybe, the just-out-of-class crowd would fade away --

"What do you need?"
