Kokutan drifted in the water, contemplating life as he searched for his sword Ago. After blowing up a pirate ship, he realized his sword had been on board at the time and had been lost to the ocean. Well, never really lost. For some reason, that sword always found its way back into his hands. He was currently following the current that led away from the wreckage. He figured someone would have come across it, for it didn’t sink to the bottom of the wreck so he could only assume it had been carried off somewhere. The village had ordered the genin to collect resources to recover from the recent chaos. The bounty of the sea had always been generous to him, so he figured this was a good way to go.
As the current began to shift his senses lit up at the presence of blood. His filed teeth formed a grin as he broke away and began to swim toward the source. His eyes rose above the water line, treading water as performed some recon. From the looks of things, it was a den of pirate shanties being used as a small base of operations. As he neared, he heard a voice speaking from one of the ships above him. “Lil’ scum ‘as been holdin’ aut on ‘is mates, has he?” Kokutan dove under the water and weaved in and out of the docked ships to inconspicuously place himself closer to the voice. “A blade lyke ‘dis wone shu’d be with ‘are superior, savy gents?” A body splashed down into the water next to the genin, joining the one that had drawn the shark to the cove. Kokutan swam around and scaled the side of the ship to survey the situation. As he laid eyes on the speaker the upper corner lip instinctively lifted with disgust. He saw Ago being held by some fat lout of a punk lecturing his apparent underlings. “I been put in charge of ‘dis here ship, and I won’t have any mutiny aboard my ship. You find some’tin of value, you best be bringing it to me mates.” Even with his large frame, it was obvious the pirate was struggling to carry the sword properly despite using two hands. How dare such trash touch his blade. Even Ago’s face looked less happy than usual, which surprised Kokutan.
The pirate turned his back on the crew and put a foot on the railing, beginning some dramatic monologue about how the ship was trusted to him for his greatness and how the seas would be theirs. Tsk. Kokutan was about to make sure they belonged to the sea in a moment. He silently climbed over the railing and slowly moved his way below deck, treading ever so quietly as the b*****d ranted. “Booty! So much booty!” The voice became muffled as he tried to find his way to the cargo bay. He moved slowly, not wanting to alert any crew that may have escaped the would-be captain’s demonstration. His plan was solid. Blow up yet another pirate ship, use his clan jutsu to turn them into chum, collect sword, profit. Sounded like a good plan to him. He just needed one good explosive tag where they stored their powder. As he turned into the cargo hold, he saw two genin whispering to each other. As he saw the shocked look on the face on the lanky pirate facing him, he tiger pounced across the room in an attempt to surprise his companion. The shocked looked must have been enough, because the other pirate spun around and rammed his body with a solid tackle. Kokutan grunted as he absorbed the brunt of the force. Grappling with the pirate, he bit into the side of her face, leaving a row of serrated teeth along her cheek and jaw. Going into shock, the pirate pulled back and pawed at her face. Kokutan followed up with an uppercut to her exposed chin, knocking her out. As the body stumbled, Kokutan tried to keep the momentum going by shifting his weight to the side and throwing a pick-axe elbow at the lanky pirate. His blow came short and the pirate countered with a knee to his stomach. The wind was pushed out of the shark-faced ninja. Enraged, he pushed off the ground with his feet and tiger pounced into his body, slamming the poor pirate against the hull of the ship. Snaking his arms around his opponents back, he began to give him a crushing hug, lifting the lanky frame off of the ground and squeezing until he heard an audible crack in the spine. “ I can’t hate a player for getting his mack on, but you can’t just go interrupting a three-point plan like that”.
He dropped the body and turned only meet a water bullet slamming into his face, knocking his body to the ground. The small confines of the cargo hold didn’t give him room to get to his feet fast enough as he laid eyes on the chuunin who had ambushed him. From what he knew about pirates, the scar across his left eye definitely held the pattern of a first mate. Great. Kokutan threw kunai in an attempt to interrupt the hand seals but it didn’t slow him down as he unleashed another bullet that knocked the kunai out of the way and kept barreling down at him. Kokutan rolled away as wood splintered around the point of impact. The first mate drew his kunai as Kokutan hopped back onto his feet. The two charged at each other, locking in a flurry of blows as they danced amongst the cannons and and cargo. Every time Kokutan found countered, the salty pirate would counter his counter, which Kokutan countered. A flurry of limbs blocks, parries, and riposte exploded as neither could get a definitive blow on the other. Twice Kokutan had almost landed a solid blow only to be foiled at the last moment. His feints weren’t working, and so he decided to trade blows. His teachers had commented on how he should use his incredible strength to his advantage, ranking the power behind his hits as good as weaker Jounin. Using the reach of his 6’3” frame, he suddenly dropped his center of gravity and spun around, swinging back a dangerous elbow strait into the pirate’s solar plexus. The first mate had begun to swing his kunai down to bury it into Kokutan’s skull when he was sent sprawling to the floor. Kokutan tried to follow it up with a body slam to try and bring the fight to a grapple, but the first mate wasn’t a push over. Still clutching his stomach, he flung his feet over his head and rolled backwards to safety as Kokutan slammed into the floor. The genin tried to tiger pounce onto the chuunin again but the pirate knocked over a bunch of cargo to impede the attack while he limped away. “No one has time for your punk a** to be running away. Three. Point. Plan.” The shinobi gave chase down the corridor in his wing chun stance.
As he caught up to the fleeing pirate, smoke bombs suddenly exploded around them. The pirate spun around and lunged forward with a kunai in hand, taking Kokutan by surprise. Kokutan rolled back dodging the kunai. As he began his counter, he realized that the kunai had been an illusion as a kick broke through the pirate in front of him, revealing the real chuunin . As fast as he could muster, he redirected the inertia of his body and head-butted the chuunin with the full brunt of his mass as he simultaneously was stomped in the groin. The two collapsed on top of each other falling to the hard wood of the floor.
