Name: Goad Haul Pain Goes by: Pain Species: Cocktail Drink: Pina Ghoulada Stage: Adult
Personality:
i gotta write it out man
take my notes tho
ice = comes off cold initially rum = warm and a little smokey after you get a better taste cream of coconut = refreshing heavy cream = very sweet orange juice = a little tangy
mostly communicates with nods, grunts, and body language unless spoken to kind of frankensteiny
not unintelligent but shy and quiet, more introspective, very honest and forthcoming but since he doesn't open up right away he can come off as unintentionally aloof or cold
his actions speak much louder than words; he is very welcoming of others and eager for affection but does not like making the first move
always puts others before himself often at the risk of himself even if they are strangers, especially if they are smaller and weaker
Dialog: Indian Red

 PINA GHOULADA
20 ounces pineapple juice 1 can (15 ounces) cream of coconut 1/2 cup heavy cream 1 cup orange juice 10 ounces good-quality rum
3 tablespoons corn syrup 1/4 teaspoons red food coloring
"Drinkers' lips may be stained pink -- much like those of a vampire."
Pour the corn syrup in a shallow bowl. Dip a toothpick into the food coloring, and stir a very small amount into the syrup to combine. Hold a glass by the stem, dip rim into the syrup mixture, and turn glass, coating entire rim. Turn the glass upright, allowing mixture to drip down sides. Dip the remaining glasses. Set aside.
Whisk together drink ingredients. Place 2 1/2 cups ice in a blender, and add 1 cup drink mixture. Blend until smooth; add more pineapple juice if mixture is too thick. Repeat with remaining ice and mixture. Carefully pour into prepared glasses; serve.

Quote: Prompt: Write a horror story (maximum 500 words long) that involves a pineapple in some way. No other restrictions! I've been chosen to participate in a military program to observe the long term effects of the nuclear tests performed at Bikini Atoll in the 1950s on undersea life. I'm the only person loaded into a large, orange bathysphere along with cargo and surveillance equipment. Everything is shut tight and they are now preparing to lower me into the lagoon. When I asked how far down they'd send me, they said “as far as possible”. I'm a little nervous but how deep could a lagoon really be?
----
The bathysphere is now completely submerged. My ears feel clogged already – it's normal. The scientists informed me that the radiation levels are safe and the only problem would be if I ate food from the island.
----
I checked the food supplies they packed with me. There's a lot of different fruits; coconuts, bananas, even breadfruit. I guess they wanted the experience to feel “authentic”. The higher ups have a weird sense of humor. This isn't exactly a vacation to an island paradise.
----
From the window, I can see all sorts of blue. The water's surprisingly bright and beautiful. If I look up at just the right angle, I can see rays from the sun and down below only looks marginally dark. It's strangely welcoming.
----
The bathysphere touched bottom. There's forests of coral reef, kelp, and jellyfish all around. It's gorgeous. So far, there are no detectable abnormalities in the surrounding wild life but I'll need to collect a sample and run some tests.
----
It's been three days since I've been lowered in the bathysphere. That's a little strange, isn't it? HQ tells me it'll be fine when they contact by radio so I'm keeping calm. It's just kind of difficult to keep yourself occupied in a metal bubble under the ocean. My skin's getting dry and a little flaky. So far, I've collected one test subject, a marine snail. His testing designation is “Gary” and so far there are no abnormalities.
----
Five Days have passed. They tell me it'll only be a bit longer. I can't feel my ears, it's so quiet. I think I saw a squid.
----
Eight days. The radio's stopped responding. My skin's flaking. Was I always this yellow looking? I'm so itchy. My hair's falling out.
----
Running low on food. I've been sharing with the snail. A crab visits the window sometimes. I'm calling him “Eugene”. I keep scratching my skin but it's still so itchy. I know I've scraped my face a few times but I don't bleed. There are lesions that I didn't notice before.
----
I can't stop laughing. I just feel really happy and I don't know why. Everything's fantastic. I don't care if they abandoned me. I have all I need right in this dome. I've got my snail Gary, my crab friend Eugene, and there's even a starfish on the window now! They're wonderful friends.
We'll all live together, in my pineapple under the sea.
