We are Dreamers
Founding: The tribe was founded by Floating Dream, a gentle doe who believed dreams needed someone to protect them. Dreams were not simple so she knew she would need others who possessed special talents.
Territory: The Dream Guides have no territory, they are strictly nomadic. They believe as dreams float like the clouds in the sky above, they should not hold themselves to one area. Also, they wish to make themselves available to all who might need them.
Special Place: There are places in the swamp where the veil between dreams and the waking world is thin. These places are special to the Guides so they hold important ceremonies there. New Guides are usually inducted as a full member at these ceremonies. New Watchers are tested for strength and fearlessness. Seers meditate in these places, keeping themselves connected to the dream world.
Mates/Children: Children are very important to this tribe, as they must be protected in their egg/sac to ensure they find their name. Some new mothers may wish a Guide to check on their eggs/sac, others may just ask for a small charm for protection and guidance. Being nomadic the tribe does not stay in many places too long so most children born are from flings from the tribe closest to them. Life mates are encouraged as well. Children born of the tribe must be able to keep up or may be left with their other parent's tribe until they are old enough to return to The Dream Guides.
Pets/Familiars: Pets and familiars are encouraged in the tribe; some are more common than others. A kin can have any pet but tribe members typically choose those most connected to their path. Moths and songbirds are usually favored by Guides. Watchers lean towards Giant Wasps and Owlcats. Guardians have strong bonds with Eaglehounds and Lynxes. Herbalists enjoy the companionship of mongooses and cranes. Seers have no specific pets, choosing theirs following a connection in the Dream world.
Abilities:💜 Guides are able to go into a trance that allows them to enter the area of the dream world were the kin they are helping is having issues. They are not fighters, they merely help a kin navigate the dream world in order to achieve a deeper level of sleep.
💜 Watchers can do the same only they are trained to battle any malevolent spirits they meet. Their wills are far stronger and their minds steeled for anything that might frighten a more timid kin.
💜 Guardians, while strong physically, they are also trained in the Way of Waking. They know how to bring a Guide or Watcher out of their trance without causing them any harm and protecting them from danger.
💜 Herbalists know the ways of plants and how they affect sleep and the mind. They are gifted chemists and are also the cooks of the tribe.
💜 Seers go into trances like the Guides and Watchers but they can see the pattern in the dream hidden from others. They can read into things kin might not be aware of or even give predictions of what may come. Prediction is rarer gift than any of the others so it will be few and far between.
