"Jigoku"
"Welcome to Jigoku. Welcome to Hell. Welcome to My Wonderland. "
|The Gates of Jigoku| Jigoku |
Well in the world above ground, there is an unknown source of spiritual energy pooling everywhere to fuel the world. As the laws and features were made of that world so was this one. Far beyond the southern border of the massive prison known as the "Nest of Maggots" is the hottest place that lies within the Rift Zone. This place is not only the hottest place but it is fueling with natural spiritual energy. However because of the pressurized world that the Rift Zone dwells in, the pressure condenses the spiritual energy into this red liquid form. This liquid is in an eternal struggle to be released back into energetic form but alas, it can not. It is from the friction of this process that this liquid gives off an extreme heat ratio. Afar from the base but near The Nest, is the most massive collection of such energy. It is from this energy that Squadron Two harness, that they are all able to do the things that they do.
To reach such a place, one must travel over many rifts until they reach the one and only hill that lays within the region. A hill nicknamed "Kyokumun". It is here were one would follow the path that leads it's way up the jaggedly hill. One would soon notice not only the immense pressure, the red and ominous glow as if a whole town was burning in flames, but also on top of this particular hill, there lay two giant ominous prongs. These prongs are both bent inwards at the top to make them seem like giant metal and or devilish horns. This design is known as "The Gate of Jigoku" or also known as "The Gate of Hell".
Once one passes through these prongs, you will arrive in the most ominous and naturally spiritually energized place within "The Rift Zone". Jigoku. Jigoku is not an actual shrine nor is it an actual building. In fact Jigoku is the inner workings of the giant hill of Kyokumun. If one were to take a bird's eyes view of the hill, they would realize that the hill has no top. It is just a jagged rock spears that form a perfect circle. However, on the inside hill is a massive amount of the special energized liquid. This energy is ever flowing. Squadron Two has manifested this special liquid and as well as cultivated it.
Squadron Two has used this liquid to power Aokigahara as well as the Nest of Maggots through an elaborate tunnel and plumbing system that was designed by the Captain of Squadron Thirteen. As well what is not be knownst to most people, is that every three days, to make sure that this place does not over fill nor become hazardous with excess energy. A massive amount is drained away and pushed somewhere else in a massive force of explosion. Meaning, it is because of this spot that The Abyss has a massive eruption every three days.
It is because of it's mysterious past, almighty and divine power, as well as it ominous appearance that people have named this place Jigoku. Which translate to Hell. It is also nicknamed as "The Core" for without for a long time, Squadron Two would have to depend on the rest of the Soul Society.
The Captain of Squadron Two personally oversees this area by himself. It is because that this place practically allows Squad Two to live underground and thrive underground without assistance. Since it has so much energy it is safe to assume that this place has an enormous amount of pressure. Therefor anyone who is under the rank of Captain may not enter without become physically exhausted. However, the Squadron Two Vice-Captain is the only one known to be able to withstand the pressure of this wondrous creation. This is because she has practically thrived here for most of her career.
Inside the structure is a elevated stone base. This base also four point's of entry and exits. Each located at the North, South, East, and West points of the circular base. Right in the middle of the base is a giant shrine. This shrine is dedicated to all three divinities however, it leans more to the Chief of War. This shrine also is the mechanic that keeps track of the eve and flow of this natural wonder. It is the sole device that keeps Jigoku regulated. If something were to happen to this shrine, The Rift Zone will be covered in this extremely hot condensed spiritual energy which would cause Squadron Two to be in complete chaos.
This is also known to be the Captain's favorite spot to be at when he is not attending at his own "Garden". He is often found here in between missions for meditation purposes. Unlike most people who are afraid and fearful of this all mighty natural wonder. The Captain is quite calm and does his best thinking when he is here. The captain also refers to this place as his "Wonderland".
