Lan was terrible at hiding in trees. That was Shaheen first thought as she flew overhead and spotted the other elder perched on high with what appeared to be a scroll in her hand. Diving down, she landed next to her, her weight causing the branch to shake and bend slightly.

She tilted her head to the side, eyebrows raising.

"I didn't take you for the tree climbing type, Lan. What is that?" She nodded towards the old looking paper in the conquest nobles hands, leaning in as though to try and read it.

Meddling in others business, thy name is Shaheen.

Lan looked over to the source of tree wobbling, gold eyes narrowed but widening with mild pleasure to find it was Shaheen. "Well, when one doesn't wish to be found. Conquest can't exactly fly, let alone have a need to look up."

Holding out the scroll so the war horsewoman could get a better look, Lan grinned. "Knowledge. I was told this scroll holds information where one might find relics of power. So I felt a need to.. liberate it from it's keeper and read it for myself." A finger ran down to a small image of a vast lake.

"It warns of dangers, but then, just bring a few trained warriors, no trouble I suspect."

"That is silly." Shaheen pointed out. Literally, pointing one of her grey tainted fingers straight at Lan's face. "There are many reasons to look up. How else would one know if they might be attacked from the air. What if I had been intent on stealing your scroll, hrm? I would have snatched it straight out of your unsuspecting hands." A smirk played along her lips, as they both knew she had no intention on taking the other woman's paper. But still! It was not a very intelligent choice to underestimate what might come at one from above.

Settling herself in by wrapping her wings around herself like a cloak, Shaheen eyed the yellowed paper, eyes skimming over it's words. She wasn't much for reading, though she knew that their could be great knowledge and power in words.

Speaking of power....

"Really." She murmured, the very word itself seeming to pique her interest. "How many relics does this parchment speak of?"

In other words: Was there any chance Lan would be sharing in these spoils.

As for the rest of it, she laughed. "Well if that's all you need, then just take me along with you. I'm sure my skills will suffice in the place of a few." Modesty was not a word Shaheen was even familiar with, apparently.

The war cheiftain was practically fidgeting with anticipation and readiness to be on their way the moment Lan said that there were a few relics, which meant that Shaheen might be abel to find one for herself along the way!

"So we find one for you, and then we find one that suits me." Decision made. "You can be my warrior, Lan." She decided to tack on as well.

At the possibility of hunters arriving to deter them from their path, she gave a wicked grin. "All the more reason you should only bring me along with you. Why share such a delightful treat with anybody else?"

But then a more serious look took over. She was a chieftain, after all, and one that, despite all of her boasts, knew it was better to go into battle well prepared instead of foolishly charging forward on ones own. "Okay, so maybe I would be willing to share. You choose your warriors then, Lan, and if they will help us both in turn, all the better." A large and feral grin was given at the end.

"I do so love a little life threatening adventure to liven up my day."

Shaheen simply wrinkled up her nose at the thought of any human being "cute".

"I never knew you had such odd tastes, Lan. So many new things I am learning about you today." She herself sprung swiftly and smoothly to her feet, her wings spreading behind her.

"Very well then, I shall make preparations myself for a journey, and meet you---" Wait, where were they meeting?

She gave Lan an expectant look.

Shaheen's face suddenly brightened up with a large smile, though there was something about the look in her eyes that stopped it short of being friendly. "Ah yes, that one. I have had the pleasure of her blood on my sword in recent times. So feisty, yet so very weak and, inevitably, disappointing."

At the mention of the haunted house, she nodded. "Excellent. I will be there." And then she set off with a few sweeping beats of her wings that launched her skyward.

She had some sword sharpening to do.
