History
Raven was born to Nadia Belo during a lunar eclipse. Most of Nadia's family shunned her because of how much she differed from them. Where they were curvy she was angular. Where they were short she was tall. Where they were olive skinned she was pale as the moon. Unfortunately the main cause of her dismay was her red eyes. Most of the family being extremely religious thought of her as the child of a demon. Her mother on the other hand treated her like she was the best child ever. Raven really tried to be. She would get in trouble, yes, but what child didn't.
During elementary school she became friends with a tiny girl by the name of Linda and another girl by the name of Sarah. They were fast friends and they spent as much time as they could with each other. Unfortunately one day Linda didn't come to school. When Raven returned home she found out that her best friend had died in a car accident with her mother. Being a small child the death was a bit easier, but it was still the start of a vicious cycle. A couple years later the dog she had gotten only a few months before was run over. Only six months after that her grandmother, the only other family member who had treated her as a part of them, passed away from cancer. On her tenth birthday her other friend Sarah was the victim of a drive by. When she was twelve her mother went to the store and never returned. Later when the police showed up at her door and she was whisked off to foster care she found out that death had once again struck someone close to her.
With so much death to those close to her she has come to understand that life must go on. Although she was heartbroken she understands that death is a part of life and is a whole other journey.
Now she wants to start a whole new journey. She knew she was different just from the way she was treated and the things she could do that didn't seem normal. A friend that she met in one of the orphanages told her of a place and of something that could be possible. Even though Amaranth was a little strange and vindictive could Raven really be the daughter of a God?
