Below the Mountains, somewhere between earth and sky, there is Lake Serenity.
The water at times is as still as glass, and it reflects the sky and the trees that lightly cradle it. The wild flowers grow along the southern bank and this is where Star Sea likes to go to think, Drink or just enjoy the calming sound of the wind over the lake.
The sunlight was dancing over her wet body, as she stood in the shallows up to her belly. She had been swimming for she loved water, and she was eager awaiting nightfall. Only one thing she loved more than the lake, was seeing it reflecting the night sky and moon.
Her head was lowered and her muzzle was barely off of the waters still surface, The only ripples were from the tips of her deep blue mane that touched the water, and her heart beat that thrummed lightly from her swim.
Her mind was in-rapped in deep thought and it was rare to see her so peacefully still, or so serious looking.
I wonder what they looked like. She thought to herself. I mean, Other ponies have parents. But I don't remember mine. Am I more like my mother? DO I look more like my father? Do I have siblings? Her ears swiveled as she contemplated who's ears she had. She was an Orphan like many Ponies out there, but she most likely thought about it more often than most. She acted out with a mischievous streak a mile wide most of the time, maybe she was just calling out.
If I ever become a mother, I would never leave my foals. They would know me, remember me, the way I look, my scent. Her pale yellow eyes gazed at her reflection, wondering who's eyes she had, trying so hard to remember... Anything.. Come to think of it, she didn't remember much of her foalhood either.
It was a haze and to a small degree it bothered her.
It was her own mind was the reason why she didn't like being alone for too long, she always came to the same questions that there were no answers to.
Royal Mystic always tells her that memories are nice, but they are just memories, and in order to live, one must focus on whats in front of them.
I guess he has a point. But when DOESN'T he have a point.

 Astrophel trotted around the shores if there was anyone new he could meet. He hadn't met anyone new or made any friends, mainly because he didn't get out a whole lot. He lay down watching the waves ripple on the surface, humming to himself quietly. He swished his tail to and fro idly. " hmmmm...i wonder if i'll meet someone new today, i need more friends" he muttered himself.

As Astrophel trotted about the lakeside, Star Sea's mind became abruptly alert and her head lifted somewhat quickly. She didn't expect anyone to go here for she didn't see others here often.
She watched him for a bit, somewhat admiring the shade of blue that was laid over this stallion.
She waited for him to settle down and finally decided to go say hi. She hadn't seen him before and it made her wonder what she had been missing.
She turned her body to start to move but she didn't go anywhere.
What the... oh no. She thought to herself as she tried to lift her front legs, one at a time. But from standing there in the shallows, she had sunk into the sediment enough to be stuck...
How freaking great! I am stuck.... Now for the embarrassing part..
She leaned up her head and let out a long and distressed whinny that echoed over the lake, and could be heard anywhere around it.
She started to thrash trying to free herself, but it only made matters worse and the nice clear water she was standing in, was turning into mud water and was getting her filthy.
She yelled out after a moment in a rather startled sound, she knew the way stallions were and that they likes to play the hero.
"HELP! I AM STUCK! I THINK I AM SINKING!!"

Astrophel's ears flicked forward as he heard the cries of help of a mare in distress. He jumped to his feet and reared up slightly heading in the direction of the cries of help. When he had arrived at the destination he stopped and stood seeing how he could help the poor mare in distress. He looked around for something "Hang on! I'm going to look for something for you to grab onto so I can pull you out before you sink anymore" he told her looking around frantically. He normally didn't rescue mares in distress but it was a good way to meet someone new instead of wandering by himself.
" There isn't much for you to grab onto" he told her and looked for a tree with a a loose vine. If not he would have to revert to taking the wonderful mare's tail or using his own for her to grab onto.

Though she was glad he had came, her cheeks stays a soft red from embarrassment. She wasn't the "filly in distress" type but indeed, she was sinking from her thrashing. In her slight panic her stars on her face were shimmering as if a ribbon of pure light was rippling behind pinholes in the blue. She was soon to her mid chest and her head was thrashing, throwing her muddy mane through the air and her panic was becoming difficult to control.
She heard him say what he did and saw him move on, but her mind wasn't completely understanding what he said over the noise of her thrashing. She completely forgot the fact one is suppose to be still when sinking in mud while waiting for help.
She whinnied and snorted, her legs churning up muddy water around her and she soon was turning brown.

Astrophel frowned slightly "Stop, Moving around you are going to sink faster and I would hate to see your pretty coat all muddy" he told her. This was probably not the best time to be flattering her. He lightly nibbled his lower lip, still nothing turned up he could use. "Okay..I'm going to let you hold onto my tail and I'm going to walk forward in attempt to pull you out" he said before turning and extending his tail out for her to grab, hopefully this would work.
She would need a good bath after this, he only got a glimpse of her pretty coat before it got covered in muddy water. This was not his ideal situation to meet a pretty mare but it was how it panned out. Hopefully, she would be grateful for his help, since at the moment it was just the two of them by the lake.

She heard him that time and froze, in somewhat a cute position, the muddy water slowly leveling around her. She could hear the rushing of the blood in her ears from her heart pumping.
Her sides were heaving from her struggle. Her mane was stringy and plastered to her in random places, she just looked so fabulous...
As his tail fell in front of her she leaned to reach for it with her head. Her movement was slow, trying not to sink anymore.
She dipped her nose into the water to get a good bite of his tail hair as much as she could. Once she got enough as to not pull out his tail hair, her nose came up with a choked snort, water leaking from her nostrils.
She mumbled " Okkay, I dot ith"her speech being slurred and slightly choked.
It would take her a bit to realize he thought her coat was pretty.

Once he had sensed that she had grabbed his tail, he started to walk forward in large strides, hoping the large strides would give him the strength and the stability to pull her out but at the same keep his balance. "Okay...almost" he said as he felt her loosening from the muddy water. "Just a little more" he said in reassurance. He still felt that this was not the ideal way to meet a mare. He shook his mane out and focussed on pulling her out of the mud.
He took one last huff and pulled her free of the muddy water. He was not use to being the hero in these sort of situations, then again this was the first time he had been in a situation like this. After taking a few seconds to catch his breath he waited patiently for her to let go.

Her legs becoming more and more free was a great feeling, the mud was suctioned tight to her and in a way, made her knees pop from the pressure.
Once out of the mud enough to starts moving she came onto the bank rather easily, splashing the rest of the way from the muddy shallows.
She let go of his tail after a moment and shook off some. It was a light shake, not enough to get mud on his but it did help with some of the mud. from legs to head she faded from a watery blue, into a brown.
Her mane strung about in a muddy mess over her neck and face.
She could finally say something to him, her breath was still a bit heavy but her voice was pleasant to the ear. "Thank you... For uhm.. Rescuing me.. Its kinda Embarrassing. I uh.. I didn't hurt your tail did I?"

He turned to face her and shook his head "No you did not hurt my tail. Not to worry." he informed with a light smile. "You look like you could use a good bath" he told her. He bowed lightly "My name is, Astrophel and you are?" he asked her politely. He shook out his tail a bit before waiting for her answer.
"its not something to be embarassed out, I'm sure it happens to a lot of other ponies. I mean the whole getting stuck in mud thing" he told her lightly. Now that she was out he got a better glimpse of her coat, or as least a portion of it that wasn't covered in mud. "your wonderful coat got all muddy" he said frowning slightly.

She smiles in relief that she didn't hurt his tail, and she watched him take his regal bow. "I am Star Sea.. and yeah.. I do need a bath." Her voice had a faint chuckle to it, she looked at herself a moment and turned to head down the bank a bit where the bottom was littered with stones. She trotted with a light perk to her tail. "well lets get me cleaned up big guy." Her voice came slightly playful and flirty.He saved her and didnt make fun of her for being the "ye ol' filly in distress" and she finally got the fact he has said something nice about her coat twice and he hasn't even seen it yet.

He smiled "Pleasure to meet you Star Sea, Such a pretty name" he told her before following her along the bank to an area that was littered with little stones. "are you sure, you won't get stuck again?"" he chuckled lightly. He was flattering her way too much, he figured if he didn't stop soon she would get annoyed at him.
He hummed a happy tune as he trotted behind her towards a different portion of the lake with crystal clear water. He took his sweet time taking in the scents and sounds of the surrounding area but managing to keep up with her.

She smirked playfully at his comment and swished her muddy tail "yeah i don't think so. no twice the hero for you." her voice had a laugh in it, she liked a stallion with some humor. as they traveled, she looked back on occasion to see him enjoying himself upon the lake side. A small smile came to her brown face.
They finally came to the stony side and she waded immediately off into the water, she didn't want the mud drying into her pelt. She got up to her belly in the water and started to shake and dip her body into the water, sending sparkling drops into the air.
She even dunked her head and repeated this action until what eh could see was a glistening wet Filly with stars about her upper face that even twinkled as if they were actual stars. Her deep blue mane fanning up through the air as she came up from her final dip sending fine sparkles of water into the air and almost creating the "optical rainbow" effect around her.
She pauses in the pivotal moment with all of her mane to one side Gazing at him, those pale yellow eyes fluttering lightly in an almost playful flirt.

He sat on the shores of the lake and waited for her to clean all the mud off. Once she had come up from her final dip and with her mane all to one side, he took a small breath in. He remained speechless for a few seconds. Now that he had seen the full color of coat, pretty was just not the right descriptive word. The more appropriate word for her coat was gorgeous "Ah..there is the gorgeous coat of yours" he said with a light grin.
He stared at the optical rainbow as in shimmered in the light, "I was just wondering If I would see the full color of your eventually, but all the mud was covering it" he put in and tilted his head now taking in her full appearance "your name suits you so well" he told her. Compared to her, his coat color seemed a little subtle, but once it got dark then it would stand out.

Her smile got wider watching him find a rebound to the way he stared at her at first, she liked the attention like any pony and she came walking out of the water with a swish of her tail, sending more sparkles of water through the air behind her a moment. " You think I am gorgeous? Think that I am pleasant to the eye?" she said walking up to him with a playful banter. Truth be told, she liked the attention but didn't know what to do with it, so maybe a tease was in order?
She came to his side, nearly against him, facing the opposite way as him and leaned down, starting to groom at his tail. The water WAS muddy it was in after all and now that she is clean, all that's left is the brown end of his tail. She couldn't help but eye over his soft blue coat and lip on a few stars as if expecting something."Your not bad look'n your self handsome.. " she pauses and thought to herself, Wow that was corny!
