Having been up for nearly four hours already, Mei reached up and wiped the sweat off her brow effectively smearing dirt across her forehead. It was nearly eleven and the sun was beating down on her bare shoulders as she worked away at the front yard pulling up any and all weeds. Thankful for her weed Fiskars weed pulling tool she was able to grab a hold of the root system without having to dig at the ground too much though some of the larger plants put up quite a bit of a fight, especially some of the large dandelions, while others were more annoying when their leaves broke off when she tried to pull the plant out of the ground.

Though this was only day two, with the some minor help from her brother, the front yard was finally starting to look a little less chaotic and unfortunately quite a bit naked. Setting her tool down, Mei leaned over and picked up the pile of weeds she had gathered and tossed them in the yard waste bin and closed the lid So close she thought just need to dig up some of those rocks finish that area over there and the rest is up to Shen and Dad to rip out the grass. They’d done something like this before where they rented a tool from Home Depot which dug up the soil and ripped out old grass. The next step would require getting rid of any large rocks and ordering some fresh soil then go get the grass seeds from the nursery. Easy

Pinching the tips of the latex gardening gloves, Mei freed her hands before gathering up her tools to drop off in the garage before going inside.

Covered in dirt and smelling of sweat, she removed her shoes as to keep from tracking anything though the house as she made her way upstairs to take a shower. It wasn't till she went to wash her body that she realized there were a few barely visible slivers down her forearm –no doubt from when she picked up the pile to toss in the bin. With the use of the pumas stone she scraped the prickly suckers from her skin then finished bathing. Never mind how hot it was outside, nothing felt more relaxing than a scalding shower to loosen any tight muscles.

Once finished, Mei emerged from the bathroom donned in a white bathrobe; damp hair clung together in snake like tendrils from trying to towel dry her crème colored tresses as she crossed the hallway into her bedroom to change into something clean. “Hmm… what to wear what to wear ?” she wondered aloud, sliding hangers in her closet from right to left along the wood rod trying to pick out an outfit for the rest of the day.

After finally settling on a brown tank top blue jean shorts and a thin long sleeve sweater that was open in the front(inside tends to get a little chilly when the AC is going). Mei walked downstairs into the kitchen to re-heat leftovers from the night before to eat for lunch. Taking a seat at the dining room table, she looked outside through the large window into the backyard, checking out the progress her dad and Shen had made on the greenhouse. It’s almost done she thought with a smile on her face hopefully come September all of this will be done and maybe, just maybe we’ll have some semblance of a yard it was a long shot but she was willing to put in the work to keep it going, she just hoped the boys were up for it too.
