Syrma had relatively little idea that she was a subject of controversy among the fighters for Order. Not... her specifically technically... though she would be the first to inform onlookers that she was kind of a big deal. She was, after all, a SUPERHERO now, For fluffs sake... but she didn't know how big a fuss it was for some people that Chibi's existed as senshi, that even the small margin of a year made a difference in whether or not people thought you should be in the Fight... Or even that it made such a giant difference in whether or not your light could be dimmed by chaos. She did know she was there to fight Youma, to possibly find some mysterious 'Moon Queen' (Your princess is in another castle? No idea on that front...) and that Cats with stars on their heads were not just coincidentally cute youtube material, but were probably Guardian cats and were, on related note, smarter and considerably more magical than normal cats. They were still sort of creatures of mystery though, and she had... well... plenty of questions for the first one she might come across since her awakening.... which was why, when she was supposed to be at the Library studying, Jonquil Fisher was instead powered up as Syrma, Senshi of Wolves and on the hunt for a cat.

It just so happened that at this moment, there was a cat on the hunt for senshi. Thus far, Ash had been unable to locate one... or at least get to them before they took off or powered down. It was one thing to sense one nearby or to locate them on the HQ computers, but it was something entirely different to actually run one down and get them to stop and chat for a bit...
Really, that's all she wanted. A chance to talk for a bit, find out what was going on and maybe, possibly, where she might fit into all of this. Its not like being a guardian came with a manual... just one day POOF! you knew you were a guardian and that you were to serve the senshi, but really, that was all you got to start with.
Sensing an aura nearby, Ash was running as fast as her little legs would carry through someone's backyard, dodging children's toys and clawing her way up and over a wood fence to land panting on the other side. Oooo, don't leave... She prayed to herself, hoping this senshi might stay put long enough for her to track her down.

In the yard of 13 year old Jonquil Fisher, there weren't too many toys left, save the now much abused swingset that had gone in years ago, though it was no longer much used, but in the yard she'd stumbled across in her hunt, perched on the fence and hoping no one called the cops, there were still a few, even a sandbox, which made her a bit nostalgic. It also made her laugh pretty inappropriately when she saw a cat scramble into view. It was only a minute later when she saw the star that she realized she'd actually found what she was looking for. Oh and the odd head set didn't hurt either, though she'd wondered if maybe said cat had been wearing it as a result of some of the children nearby. "Hey! Cat!" she called in a not quite whisper. "Hey!"

The call from nearby pulled Ash up short, but as her brain fired at lightning speed, she realized perhaps reacting as though she understood the words was perhaps not a good idea. She was supposed to be blending in and pretending to be a normal cat around normal people...
The grey cat smoothly turned her skidding halt into a turn, her tail lifted questioningly as she looked about for the voice calling to her. Oooo... she sensed a senshi signature. Was her luck in her favor today and the signature belonged to the voice?
Glancing up, Ash caught sight of a senshi girl perched on the fence and her ears perked up as her face split in a kitty grin.
"Hello there, darling!" She called before sidling up to the fence and leaping to the top of it with an athletic spring. One paw lifted to straighten her visor as she landed and she sashayed towards the chibi, tail lifted. "Oh, you are positively adorable... What is your name? I'm Ash!"
The cat crooned at her new friend as she came close enough to butt her head against her, stretching luxuriously to rub her side against her as well. Oh, how long she had been searching... it felt so good to finally meet a senshi and she just wanted to roll in the feeling, rubbing it good and deep into her fur like catnip... at least up until she realized maybe she was being a biiiiiiit too friendly and she pulled it back, laughing nervously as she cleared her throat and tried to calm her enthusiastic purring.

"I. Am Not. adorable" Was not a typical introduction, but Syrma was maybe not the Chibi Ash had been expecting based on the energy signature. The lean thirteen year old tensed, shifting muscles that were made powerful from dancing, and had a fire in her eyes brightened by the first throws of teenaged self discovery and rebellion. "I'm SYRMA! Senshi of Wolves!" She carefully omitted the "chibi" part. "I'm a fierce warrior for the moon queen! I don't do adorable!" She insisted, stubbornly. The whole 'stubborn, fierce warrior' thing probably would have been more convincing if she'd been a bit more grown, not an lanky, awkward girl whose body hadn't quite figured out yet if it were finished with changing things around on the end path to an adult body... and if she hadn't been wearing paw shaped boots (Syrma adored them), and a Hood with ears. ((....shutup-she-liked-that-too-but-shutup.)) Still, the young, new senshi was sticking to her guns.

The fierce denial of Ash's assertion didn't seem to faze the cat and she continued purring as she rubbed her cheeks against the parts of the young senshi she could reach. The guardian couldn't help it... cat instincts she'd lived with for years demanded that she mark this person as hers. She was just so delighted to finally meet a senshi... and now this was HER senshi, at least for the moment.
"Oh, yes, of course, dear. You are the fierce warrior." Ash said soothingly before she sat back and stared up at the girl with bright eyes, her face aglow with smiles. "I'm just so very excited to meet you. You're my first senshi, you know! The very first I've ever met... I'm still rather new at this, I'm afraid, but that doesn't mean I won't be good at it!"
Hopefully the senshi didn't think her newness and inexperience meant she was also more or less incompetent... Ash figured learning to be a guardian was sort of like learning to ride a bike, and on the plus side, she had past memories that kept popping up like a little cheat sheet. She just knew she would be a fabulous guardian once she got settled in.
"My my... you're a chibi, right? In training... Who awakened you? Have you meant other senshi yet? Oh, I want to hear everything!" The cat chortled, feeling positively enthused now.

Well, that was a bit disappointing, she hadn't realized that the cats came as noobs, but she guessed maybe she should have figured they did. This one was... super cuddly anyway. She wasn't sure if that was normal either, having only met one previously. "I dunno, little grey guy, blue forehead stare, Liryn I guess." She huffed, giving the cat a reluctant an ginger pat. She wasn't a pet owner, thanks to many occasions of her and her mother disagreeing on what was an acceptable pet. Snakes were apparently on the "Over mom's dead body" list. Ditto spiders. Even the ones from the yard. Even in a jar. Even if the jar had a lid. "I'm the Senshi of Wolves, not Senshi of weeboos." She noted, irritably. She still wasn't sure she liked, or fully understood the 'chibi' title. Apparently something to do with not being awakened at fourteen instead of thirteen. Stupid picky universe. It was like being eighteen where you could vote but not drink, only you couldn't do either of those things, but you could become a super hero and battle evil. ...Weird. "What the fribbidy is all this "CHIBI" honkaboo about anyway? A year makes that big a deal? What happens when I do turn fourteen? Do you know?"

Ash adored the attention the chibi gave her, delighted that the girl came around enough to offer it. She had never heard of this Liryn character and the grey cat found herself a little jealous. She want a senshi to awaken... Oh well. There would be more, she hoped. Other opportunities.
"What is a Weeboo?" She wondered, blinking big eyes. That sounded like an odd sphere to this guardian. "I'm... not sure really, what happens at fourteen. Like I said, I'm sort of new to this. I just... know that chibi is a term for a senshi in training. So I guess that means you're still learning, or whatever. Not a full fledged senshi yet. I would assume that means at fourteen you make some sort of transition and become a full senshi. I'm pretty sure its not something that just goes POOF and its done. I'm afraid that's all I really know though... I'll have to look into it."
And look into she would. If there was one thing that intolerable to Ash, besides abuse of electronics and mussed fur, it was not knowing something. Surely there was some way to get in touch with other guardians who would teach her, or SOMETHING.

Syrma heaved a sigh at the question, deciding that perhaps she should surrender hope on questions deeper than 'What does cat food taste like to a cat'. "A Weeboo is an insult, it means someone who's... like.... superdooper obsessed with Japanese stuff, or anyway stuff they think is Japanese like. They get hung up on how Katana's are the best ever they think everyone there wears Kimonos and stuff ALL THE TIME and that everything is Cherry blossoms and manga and tea and bowing and stuff. They get so caught up in liking the idea of the place that they don't actually have any respect for it as a real place with real people. Oh and they say things like "chibi" and "Kawaii" and "Sempai" and "Chan" all over the place and usually out of context." "You see what I mean?" She offered, propping her chin on her hand and frowning slightly. She was, herself, a little hung up on Ash's insistence that she was "In training." It wasn't like she had a coach following her around telling her to climb ropes or something. She was a Senshi. "Here's one for you. If I'm supposed to be In Training" She added air quotes to the blistering sarcasm with which she spoke those two words before she continued. "Who's supposedly training me? The only other girl I've met is around my age. There's no one bopping around with an stupid whistle and ugly shorts telling me to play Dodge Youma or run laps around the city. Wha gives anyone the right to tell me I'm 'training' if no one is training me? What makes me any different than someone who got awakened a year older? I don't get it. This is so... It's so arbitrary. Who decides this stuff? I think we should get to talk to them."

Ash hmmed as she tilted in her head, taking in the slang term and filing it away in the database that was her mind. She felt like that was something she probably should have known, since she liked to consider herself a tech and internet guru. Oh well. Everything known had to be learned.
"That sounds... stupid. Though I suppose I'm not surprised. There are a lot of stupid people in the word." Especially when you were a highly intelligent guardian cat... most people appeared stupid by comparison. The next question though, was again something Ash had a hard time answering and it was very frustrating. Maybe she should have done a little more research before jumping straight into meeting senshi, but jeez...
"Well..." The cat said after a moment of thought. "You know we all had past lives, right? That's why sometimes we remember things... or at least I do. Perhaps, in our past lives, being in training really meant that you were training. You probably had a senshi who was older and taught you what to do. Then, when you were ready, you had a test or a ritual or something and you graduated into being a full senshi."
Ash's head tilted as she worked her way through the logic of that. It stood to reason that the title 'in-training' was not just arbitrary... it had to have had a function at one point. Which made it logical there were people to teach and people to learn and all of that.
"I think maybe the senshi now have sort of... fallen out of the system that we all used to have. We aren't on our planets any more, we don't have teachers... There was probably someone at some point who DID get to decide this stuff and we're all just living with it hundreds of years later." Ugh... it was hard to order her thoughts on the fly like this. If she had been at a computer screen, writing this up, she felt she would have been far more coherent and persuasive. Standing, she rubbed herself against the senshi again, hoping to comfort her a little. Questions were hard, she knew that better than anyone.
"I swear, I will find out the answers to all of these questions and I'll be sure to come back and share them all with you. No answer can hide from my keen eyes!"

"Hmph" Syrma sounded unimpressed and looked like she had possibly tuned out somewhere after "Well...", though it wasn't clear when, only that she was standing up on the edge of the fence and trying to keep her balance while doing something that looked a bit like ballet warmup. "I dunno if I used to be someone else or not." She snorted, wobbling a bit on one leg as she lifted the other, with her arms held out for balance. "I don't care either. I'm me now." And frankly that felt like more than enough to worry about. She was already trying to figure out who she was now, without adding on who she might have used to have been.... or... some variant on that which didn't sound grammatically weird. "If there's no 'old' system, then who gives a cr.....acker?" She demanded. "Old things change all the time, and people try and make better ones."If someone thinks I need training, they can come try and keep up with me. I'll make their head spin."

Ash tilted her head curiously, wondering if it was just her or if this young senshi was always this prickly.
"Of course you had a past life. Everyone had one." She said as she stretched herself, reaching her forelegs out in front of her. "And while we don't really have a system any more, that doesn't change the fact you're not a full senshi yet. Its not like the rest of us decided the age limit... and we can't do anything to change it. So you might as well just accept it and get on with it. If you do, you can work around it, you know? You can't hack a system and rewrite it without knowing the system first."
After a bit, the thought occurred that they'd been perched on the fence for a while now.
"Were you going somewhere, Syrma? Doing patrol?" For all she knew, the cat had distracted the chibi from something. Not that she regretted it, but... it might be something she had to get back to.

"I'm not wearing jeans with my Fuku. I'd say that makes me pretty dang fully Senshi." Syrma challenged right back. "Clearly someone did, and at the point where you're just blindly trucking along going "Well this is the way things have always been so we're just gonna do that thing..." that's the point when things have to change, because that's usually when they've reached the point when they're most broken." She put her other foot down and pointed at the cat in challenge adding. "You and your fluffy friends tell me your 'just the way it is' system, and I'll tell you the parts I think are worth keeping." She announced, stubborn and proud. "I don't have to hack anything, I just have to figure out what works now, which has nothing to do with what used to work back in the day. Used to be too girls just shut up and did needle work, because that's just the way it was." She folded her arms and added. "So tuck that behind your ear. And then you can tell me if my mom was reincarnated, and what she used to be. I mean everyone is huh? I dunno. I mean pft, next you're gonna tell me I was Cleopatra or somethin." She snorted again and added. "Nah I was just looking to get some questions answered. So... I guess that's that. I've gotta get back, I've got an essay to finish. I dug up the resources last night, but mom thinks I'm at the library. Woo. Hot boogie darn and whatever." She sighed, impatiently. Mundanity summoned, but if mundanity didn't get done, she'd be grounded from dance class and any chance at getting out for anything else would be a real headache. "Hark forth and um... I don't know... say hi to reincarnated Anthony for me or whatever." ...Clearly the whole 'reincarnation' thing just wasn't sticking. Bluefire Dragonz The Snark is strong with Syrma. It's kinda like the force, but it mostly creates a headache in other people instead of levitating things. And to the relief of everyone else, no light-sabres are involved.

The grey guardian straightened up with a tail flick, feeling like maybe this encounter hadn't gone the way she had hoped. Oh well... she had done her best, more or less.
"I don't know how jeans have anything to do with anything..." She said softly as she watched the senshi point down at her, giving her best 'i'm a cute little kitty' look back. "And before ladies did needle work, they transformed and protected their planets, so whatever. Hopefully I answered your questions, but if you have any more, I promise I'll have the answers next time we meet. I'm going to be very busy until then."
Standing up, her tail flicking, Ash turned to pace down the fence. "Good luck, Syrma! Let me know if you ever need a cat for something."

Ash's pleasantries were granted the dubious honor of an actual eyeroll as the young Senshi started to pick her way back along the fence, since the gray haired girl was pretty sure that the cat had missed the entire point in her bizzare faith in the idea that Senshi used to be... Cleopatra or... someone else people who thought they were reincarnated always thought they were. "Sure, cat." She noted, vaguely. Which didn't exactly sound like a commitment, but it was at least an acknowledgement of existence.
