People
Here's a list of people in this thread for convenience:

Dominic/Ashur, Eliza/Pharos, Lily/Maia, Xander/Shang, Juniper/Tortali, Hannah/Acrucis, Jessie/Pompeii

Dominic was sure he'd texted her the when and where and other details for the paintball outing. He'd done a good deal of research about the best locations available to them without too much of a hassle when it came to transportation and whatnot, and before going to bed he knew he sent that text! Granted, it'd been nearly 2AM when he sent the text so...well. He had been rather absorbed in a project just before hopping into the shower so there was a huge tiny chance that he might have forgotten since he was pretty tired and all...

Glancing at his watch while waiting at the entrance to said paintball field, Dom shifted his weight onto his other leg and heaved a sigh. Of course he'd go and drop his phone in the toilet while trying to send a confirmation text upon waking up, so there he was standing around all anxious and whatnot. With no way to contact her (since her number had only been saved to his phone, which was now out of commission), it was the only thing he could really do at that point.

"Please, please, please..." he muttered while looking about. "Memory, just this once, reassure me that I sent that text, yeah?" Considering he was alone (all his friends bailed opted out of the experience out of spite because he'd made them on the fly with a cute girl he'd met on a dare they'd given him) he probably looked like a nutjob, talking to himself and all. Not that he really cared. He was more worried that Liza wouldn't show. What if she brought people with her? She did say something like that, right? If they ended up someplace else because she couldn't contact him or because he never sent that text, then what!? That'd be pretty lame, plus he'd have no way of apologizing since he lost her number. Rather, he lost his phone and, therefore, her number. And all his other numbers, but never mind those.

"That's just great!" he suddenly screamed out in frustration, kicking a nearby post rather stupidly. Of course, when the pain shot up his leg he calmed a bit and just leaned back against the post instead. No need to stress, right? This wasn't anything too important, now that he thought about it. Calm, deep breaths...

Eliza had in fact gotten the text, but she wasn't terrible familiar with the bus system or specifically meeting anyone anywhere outside of school and work. The 17 year old was sitting all bundled up in layers on the bus patiently counting the stops to the paintball place. It of course was a little further out as, there needed to be land with which to play the game. She was a little nervous because she'd never played before but excited to play.

Her stop was called out of the bus intercom in a monotone robotic voice most machines had. She rang the bell to signal she wanted to get off, and quickly scrambled off when she headed down the street toward the facility, before she head a scream and and saw Dominic kicking a pole before leaning against it.

"What just great," she said with a grin, "you okay. Not looking like you ready for a fun day there." She gave a small frown pulling out her phone and looking at the time, "am I late? I thought you said around now, but I could be wrong ..."

She smile, "we'll still be able to play though right?"

Lily stood in the lobby of the paintball facility counting heads and making sure everyone was there. Some came on the their, Lily picked up a few, Xander dragged Jessie, but everyone had agreed on here and now for the paintball session. Or rather Lily's lesson in evasion, a.k.a, dodging! Paintballs were a better incentive than dodge balls and so here they were.

"Alright everyone here, you need to get you safety gear on and get you gun. We have an hour session, but we have to wait for a few more to join in. We'll be opposing another group of , please be careful with them. They probably aren't use to this sort of thing."

Lily went to get her goggles and her gun. It felt weird to be doing this sort of thing, something she would never have imagined herself doing, but she was doing it now and it had a purpose! She smirked to herself and watched her her brother fussed over Hannah and rolled her eyes.

"Leave her alone Xander," she said softly, "she not a baby, she won't break." She still didn't fully understand the bond he had with Hannah, but it was clear as day Xander seemed to have adopted a new little sister. Which was a little beneficial to her as much as she hated to admit it. He could be a little overbearing at times.

Xander rolled his eyes at his sister, "you know your not going to be in the thick of this right? I thought for sure she'd pick laser tag before I told you about it, but don't worry. I'll keep an eye out. Please try not to get hit. That really is the whole point of this exercise right."

He eyed her critically, "are you warm enough? We're going to be outside the whole time."

Lily wanted to literally drag her brother away from Hannah, but she didn't think that would be well recieve. "You alright there Jessie. I know this isn't you idea of an afternoon of fun, but it for your own good?" She looked to Juniper and have the girl a thumbs up, "Excited?"

The poor guy was ready to head into a very dark, depressing place in his head when he suddenly heard a somewhat familiar voice greet him. Immediately his head shot up, cerulean blue eyes looking up at Liza as though she was his savior or...something. As though it never happened, Dominic jumped up from where he sat rather energetically and laughed a bit sheepishly.

"You heard me, huh?" he asked, running a hand through his hair. He'd tried to get it to be a bit neater today, but while waiting he wound up just messing it up again anyway. "Ah, I dropped my phone into the...plumbing...this morning, and I couldn't be sure if I texted you the right place and stuff so I was a little worried for a bit. You're not late though!" And she wasn't. He'd gotten there early just in case he had sent her the wrong time (though he couldn't think of a possible solution if he'd sent the wrong place), but he wouldn't tell her that much.

"But yeah, we'll definitely get to play still. C'mon!" So leaving things at that, he started to lead her inside. "Did you have any trouble getting here?" he asked, trying to make conversation. "I thought you'd have friends with your or something."

Jessie was peeved to be dragged away from her store for some random team activity... right in the middle of the day. Lucky for Lily and Xander, her help was working that day and Jessie didn't feel too bad for leaving them in charge of the store and her phone was in reach. The surprise aspect of the training as well as the location more then made up for the comfort of the fully staffed store.

By the time they pulled up to the facility Jessie was more then willing to have Xander as her training partner so she could dump him on his back, or at least try her best. But once she realized they were at a paintball range Jessie became oddly happy and more then ready to start.

It had been years since her father had taken her out to the local dump with a bb-gun but it still held fond memories. He first taught her with a hand held plastic pellet gun, shooting at bells hanging on the branches of their back field, since the property backed up to woods there was no danger to neighbors. The pellet gun was quickly up graded to a pump action bb gun and Jessie could hit her target eight out of ten times. It gave her a special thrill to hear the chime of the copper bb's hit the bells, sending them chiming away.

There was only a few times that she was given a real gun to fire and it was always with her dad standing at her side as she looked down the barrel of the gun. The splatter of the water filled glass jars across the garbage filled ground or the bounce of a tin can ricocheting off a old washing machine.... those were fond memories.

But that was many years ago..... many, many years ago. And Jessie wasn't entirely sure how a paint gun would react, she just hoped she wouldn't do too badly. And briefly wondered if Lily would get mad if she shot Xander once for fun.

Juniper had been kind of excited to get the invitation to go paintballing, and even though she had been running late, she got ready to do this thing as quickly as possible. She hadn’t yet told Lily or anyone that she had reached the super stage of being a senshi, but she was sure that it would come up eventually.

“Hey, hey I’m here. Sorry I’m late, I had a bunch of things that I had to do and it’s been crazy hectic in my life right now.” She began suiting up and stretched. She hadn’t been paintballing before and it seemed like it would be a pretty fun thing to do, and a thing that she might have to bring Anella to if it turned out to be fun. Anella liked things like that.

She made her way over to Lily and grinned. “So…this is going to be training, hm? Time to take chances, make mistakes and get really messy, I think. If this gets in my hair, I’m going to be pretty upset and make doubly sure I get a ton in everyone else’s hair.”

It wasn’t that Juniper wasn’t comfortable with this group…she just hadn’t spent much time with them lately. It was kind of nice to be back with them, doing something that was different. Fun. This was going to be super fun, she just knew it.

If he keeps this up people are going to start asking questions, questions I really don't want to answer. Hannah though, self conscious about all the attention he was giving her. She had to admit, it was odd hearing him called by his first name. If anything it felt more natural to call him by his professional name - Dr. Jacobs; or by his knight name - Shang... or Shangri-La . But they were neither at the hospital nor were any of them powered up so Xander it was. So confusing

"She's right you know, I'm not gonna break." Hannah looked up at Xander with a half smile, eyebrows raised. Though she didn't verbally object to his fussing, realizing it was probably just as much for his piece of mind as it was for hers, she did hope he got the hint."I'll do my best not to get hit - I promise!" She tried her best to reassure him. There was no doubt in her mind that he would keep an eye on her out there. If past experiences meant anything she knew that he would be true to his word just as he had done with Sheena's clone and the Shade Queen, each time protecting her from harm.

"I'll be fine once we start moving around ' In truth she was a little chilly but if she put on any more layers she'd over heat once they started running about. Though at the mention of clothes she realized she had forgotten to give him the letter she had in her pocket. Undoing her zipper just enough to grab the blue envelope she handed it to him " Letters right?" that's how he said knight's get messages "Read these later when you get a chance please." She asked of him.

In case he reads it anyway - two letters

Dr Jacobs -

Congratulations, you made it! It's December, which if I remember right your done with your residency. I wasn't sure when you were officially finished so I thought I'd wait till the end of the month to congratulate you. Mom said that once you got hired on full time you'd have longer shifts with more hours so we got you a gift card for coffee (or tea) to help keep you awake! (No sleep for the weary)

- Enjoy
(Gift card from the Carrington's)
Hannah
------------------------

Shangri-La

I need your help please.

More often than not I find myself wishing I had a way to get a hold of you. I've seen things, horrible things that have been giving me nightmares for the past month. I can't sleep which is worrying my parents and I fear if I don't finally talk to someone about what happened they'll start jumping to the wrong conclusions. There have been a few recent occasions where I've encountered a senshi who's injuries far exceeded my healing abilities. He refused to go to the hospital so I did my best to help him. If it wasn't for his guidance I wouldn't have been able to do much which is why I need to learn how to help people once my magic has been all used up.

If you have time, please please teach me something.

Eliza gave a little laugh when he said he'd dropped his phone in the plumbing, she hoped it wasn't the toilet as she couldn't imagine anyone would want to fish their phone of of the porcelain throne. "Did you put it in a bowl of rice to help it dry out. Lot of student at HITS have accidentally soaked their phones. They say that trick works like a charm."

She grinned glad to here she wasn't late and happily followed Dom into the building to get their gear and what not before they were ushered out into the field to commence the battle. She frowned slightly and shook her head when he asked about friends, "I don't actually have that many friends."

Really only four came to mind as far as her day time life was concerned, it was in the night that she had more friends, but she couldnt really tell Dom that. So instead she smiled, "Beside, I'm sure there will be plenty of people to play with."

Xander gave Hannah a look when she repeated what Lily had just said, but sighed and nodded trying to not fuss like a mother hen. He was just worried, he really didn't like the idea of Hannah taking a paintball to the, well to the anything.

"Okay," he responded softy to her promise, "really not getting hit is the point of this anyway." He followed the statement with a nod to her response to his question about warmth, trusting what she said. She was wearing more that she would be if she was Acrucis, so he wouldnt complain.

He was handed to letters and was slightly confused about them, but nodded and pocketed them none the less. "I'll read them when were done her."

Lily looked around seeing everyone was all there and motioned for them to get closer not wanting to raise her voice. She looked to Juniper and nodded, "yes it's a training session of sort, only a bit more fun and without the chance of being discovered by the enemy. I want everyone to get fun, but remember this is about stealth and evasion. Keep you eyes open and try not to get hit."

She looked around at all the faces, "Everyone got there gear on? We'll be headed out in less than five minutes, the other team is getting there gear of now."

A man walked over to the group, "Hello, I'm going to be showing you out onto the feild, you'll be the blue team. You'll have a blue arm band, which I have here," he said handing on to everyone. "We strickly forbid headshot, paintballs hit with a lot of force and can leave large nasty bruises, so keep your shots below the neck please. Now if you would, follow me and I will lead you out."

Lily grinned at the other excited and turned to follow the worker. Xander looked very apprehensive and tried not to wear it one his face. Lily did what she could to make sure they were well training and would survive this war, he just wished all this wasnt so much sometimes.

"Thank you"Hannah smiled, watching as Xander put the envelope away for now. She waiting patiently while he got his gear re-situated before grabbing a hold of his sleeve cuff and pulled him over to his sister and their other team mates "Come on" If she looked eager to get started it was all a facade, the closest thing to a gun she'd ever shot were those foam nerf darts. At the very least at least she knew Lily, they had met at least once before today, the others however were each new faces.

When the paintball employee approached the group, Hannah did her best to listen to what he had to say, waiting to put her blue arm band on till he finished speaking. Her face paled when he talked about large nasty bruises, which left her a little apprehensive about taking aim at someone least of all she hurt them by mistake. oh boy, this suddenly feels a more real and less fun. Laser tag would have been so much better.

She looked over her shoulder back at Xander then over to Lily wishing she had the option to back out now and just watch. But with the game just about to start she took in a deep breath and reminded herself Just don't get hit."

Dom gave a sheepish sort of smile at her suggestion. He had, in fact, done exactly that. Thankfully he wasn't actually using the toilet when it'd fallen in; it just sort of slipped out of his hand right before he was about to brush his teeth. However. There was no chance he'd put a phone that'd fallen into a toilet -- any toilet, at that -- anywhere near his face. "Uh.. no, I didn't think of that," the teen lied, hoping she wouldn't see through it. No reason to embarrass himself right then, anyway. "I'll try that with my next phone."

And their conversation went from there; he glad to leave that topic behind, anyhow. It sort of surprised him that she wouldn't have that many friends, and her small frown caused the smile on Dom's face to flatten slightly. "Yeah?" he asked, brow quirked and a look of concern on his face. "Wouldn't have guessed that," he started, probing his brain for something encouraging to say. Thankfully she saved him from having to think too hard when she suddenly smiled and mentioned the others around that they could still happily pelt with paintballs.

"But you got that right!" he exclaimed with a bit of a laugh as they walked into the lobby. Dom started getting his own gear on, and soon the two of them and a few others were grouped together and led out for orientation and instructions and all the boring stuff. There was basically only one thing to be done, anyway: hit as many people on the other team while avoiding getting hit yourself. Okay, technically two things, but whatever.

As their own guide handed out red arm bands for them to put on, Dom turned to face Liza. "Don't get hit, yeah?" he said with a wide smile. "We can stick together, if you want. Y'know, watch each other's backs and stuff." Teamwork, right? It was both their first time in an actual game of paintball, so they needed to stick together.

Jessie nodded and silently wondered what the point of the game was. She knew what the training was for but was the game 'capture the flag', 'kill the opponents', or 'just shoot each other'. She was going to voice her question when the game operator walked over and passed out the blue arm bands. He mentioned head shots and led them out to the field and Jessie mused out loud, "So I guess this will hurt some." Not that she hadn't gotten hurt on previous training days and battles, but it did mean that no randomly shooting Xander. He made funny noises some times.

The possibility of pain also reinforced the idea of stealth and dodging but Jessie wasn't sure how well thats going to work out for her. She fiddled with her ring and wondered briefly what Aralias meant when he mentioned in passing that with the ring and skill he could pass unnoticed in a crowed marketplace. Then again her ancestor is a bit of a p***k so he might have just been messing with her. Jessie made a mental note to go back to Pompeii and study the books in the library some more. Not that she could read any of them.

With the game about to begin Hannah looked around at her teammates with a look of slight apprehension. Sliding the blue band around her arm she asked aloud, "Umm, I don't suppose we have a plan?"

Activities like this weren't typically her thing, be it literal participation or first person shooter video games which left her kind of helpless when it came to knowing what to do. Do they stay grouped up, or spread out? Which direction were they suppose to go? All these questions and more ran through her mind that she wanted to ask but knew she didn't really have time to inquire.

Eliza was happy to hear that it was a surprise that she didn't have a lot of friends and gave a laugh with Dom when he said she'd got it right about people to play with. She turned to the guide when the instruction were being given and she listened intently of the explanation and rules before getting her gear on and taking a red arm band.

Eliza looked a little nervous, but then smiled, "yeah, don't get hit and yes I'd like to stick together. If we work together maybe we will get hit less."

The guide wave a hand and took the team out the back leading them to an area feild with trees, forts, nets covered with leaves, tree hide outs and even a few obstacles, or at least to Eliza they looked like obstacles.

_paocx

Lily followed the guide out back to the outdoor grounds behind the facility to see the same thing the other team would be seeing, lots of trees, forts, nets covered with leaves, and tree hideouts. She was a little bit awed, but hoped that all this would aid them in not being hit as opposed to being easily suck up on.

The guide instructed them to wait for the siren to signal the start of the round, reminded again about no head shots, before stating that the guides wouldn't return until the end of the round.

As the guide left Lily looked to the team and smiled. "Alright guys. Use the extra's to your advantage, try to work in pairs if you can and lets get some cover before the siren blares."

She ran forward getting behind one of the net's covered with leaves before waving a hand at Juniper and Jessie to follow.

Xander grabbed Hannah's hand and headed over to one of the forts that had a window. "You take the window and I'll take the door?"

After a moment or two the siren blared and the red team could be seen headed toward where they were.

Sorry for the delay, no posting order from this point on, just have fun shooting at each other. The youma will be introduced, somewhere on the second of third page, likely the third, if everyone is having fun shooting each other.

Dominic nodded, and they were agreed that they'd stick together. He scanned the area that was set before them, searching for spots with good cover that provided a decent vantage point and places to avoid and such, before started to lead Liza down toward a small fort, crouching low and moving quickly. He'd seen a few clips of soldiers doing the same during combat.. they were clips from movies, but the teen figured it was still applicable.

"Just stay close, I'll get behind that tree," and he pointed at a tree that kind of forked about midway up the trunk; it looked kind of like a wishbone, now that he thought about it. "And you cover me from there," again, he pointed at another spot that was a bit higher on the slope they were hustling toward.

"Keep an eye on the arm bands so you don't shoot any of our own."

Ha! He felt like a real soldier or something, saying that, and a wide grin cracked across his features. Soon enough, the siren sounded just as he slammed against the trunk of his designated spot. He'd check on Liza later; for now, he kept his eyes on the few blue members he could see. Setting the barrel of his rifle where the tree's trunk split, he aimed carefully at one of a pair that was headed toward a fort (Xander) and fired.

Without having much time to think, Hannah felt herself being pulled away from the immediate group by Xander. The unexpected tug caused her to stumble a few steps, but once she got her baring together she hugged her gun closely and quickly fell instep beside him till they nearly reached their destination.

Blue eyes looked up at the red head doctor and with a nod of her head she replied "Okay sounds like aaAHHHH" she yelped as a paint ball went zipping past them splattering blue paint on the tree beside them. Startled, Hannah jerked her hand away from Xander as she jumped backwards finding momentary shelter behind another tree that stood proudly between her and whomever just shot at them.

"I don't think we're going to make it there!" eyes wide with shock she gave Dr Jacobs a look of 'now what?' "What do we do?". This was suppose to be fun right? Maia wouldn't choose an activity that would put them in actual danger. So then why was she trembling so bad? I don't want to get shoooot...
