As for the Drakein/ian. The only part that really belongs to Yoru on those that haven't been used by either authors or anything is the ear crystal things. Everything else is been used by so many people he has no actual right to them. And the ear crystal things were pretty much a WTF point anyway to me. as for the way they look walk move and already basically exist everything has been used by an author named Donita K. Paul? Drakeinian (Under a different name of Meech Dragon) are used extensively in her books. Two of the main characters are Meech Dragons. And even the topic of experimentation to create them was in her books. So you technically can still freely use that because it isn't something belonging only to Yoru. Especially with having individual skill sets of magic belonging to their clans

Stuff like bonds from birth and speaking over telepathy have been in dragon lore forever. Many many authors use it, From Anne McCaffrey to the writer of Eragon to Brooks to goodness you get my point. And that's a well favored part for me with them. As for their strength and limits well that's just common sense.

Yeah, we are defiantly going to be changing things up with looks but not so much history. Glad you put in some references of other books for us to show to Yoru should he say it's his. Plus Brolis wrote quite a bit of that anyways.

I'm also complaining about the clothing restrictions!

They would get their clothes from what ever dead bodies they steal them from (grrel's done that for her bag) as well as take them from caravans that they raid or trade with so they should have access to all clothing that they can find in a merchant caravan or on somebody!

And hairstyles. I see no reason why a Drakein can't have what ever hair style they like! My ears are sensitive yet I have my hair covering it. Why would a crystal (which is freaking hard an not very sensitive if you ask me) get irritated by hair? If we do end up changing the ears to actual dragon like ears, then I say ditch the entire hair restriction!

As for the rest of the physical looks, I think it's fine. I like the wing's being not actual wings but instead magic manifestations of their mind/soul/magic/personality or something. It's a nice small thing that makes them that more unique.
