Inugami lay curled about herself beneath a shelf of stone, the tip of her thick tail just barely reaching her nose. A glowing red eye opened and regarded the sun-kissed morning with what could only be a disdainful stare. Some might believe the sun could bring only joy during the winter months, but Inugami thought it nothing but show: it would glare across the snow, and though the sun was at such an angle that it wouldn’t be dangerous, it’d be a nuisance still – without making up for the trouble in terms of warmth. It foretold an irritating day, but only if she stayed in the area.
Glad for her warm coat, she worked her way from beneath her shelter and stretched, her paws leaving skids in the snow. Already she missed the heat that came with a body in slumber, but she wouldn’t for long. Though it had been months since she’d left the Flock, she was still discovering much about the lands, and this day would be no different. She would come across new plants as she traveled, and new creatures, too – perhaps even other soquili. Few had come across her path during her solitary journey, and fewer still approached her with her searing gaze and gleaming fangs, but one could always hope, and there were a great many others to try her luck against.
Feeling much more invigorated with such thoughts in mind, she trotted out into the open, intending to follow the river to a forest she’d seen ahead.
