After the first battle with the Kiandri, one in which he'd found a trio of the dragons straight away, it would appear as though they just sort of poofed for a time. Try as he might he just couldn't find anymore of them, something that had Karayan grumbling a bit. He had been so excited after that first battle, hyped up actually to get to throw himself against more and more of the Kiandri, but now just look at where he was. Surrounded by hot sand, under the burning sun, with no more dragons orbs to his name save for the two that he'd gotten hours earlier.

His now golden eyes looked around from side to side, even up into the air, for what felt like the millionth time for each direction, before looking over at his Gram, "I think that they all ran away due to their fear of my sheer awesome. They said that last battle and they just don't want to contend with me." The words came along with the Gaili Dovaa grinning up a storm.

It was a comment that the older Dovaa didn't even both to give a response to save for giving him an affectionate pat on the head. She was so used to his antics that she didn't even blink when he said such strange things. If anything the fact that he was in such high spirits despite the fact that they were having a hard time finding some Kiandri to battle with was a testament to the fact that he was growing up... to a point at least, he was still making his same wild claims after all. Still, he was a good boy and he was trying his hardest. It was just the Kiandri that didn't seem to be playing their part in all of this. The boy needed more in the way of training meaning he needed more battles. With the dragons staying at bay all they were really doing was walking around in circles. It was quite dull but she wouldn't say as much out loud, wanting instead to encourage her grandson.

"I am sure that we will find some soon enough, best that you keep your eyes open, you don't want to be caught off guard after all. Those first three might not have seen you coming but the next group of them might very well see you before you see them. " The woman warned, giving him a smile. She would leave the dragon fighting to him until the need for her to step in arose. She didn't want him to get hurt but at the same time she didn't want him to be soft, it was a fine line that she was walking at the moment. Her help was something that would only come when it was absolutely necessary, so long as he knew that she felt that he would do well enough. As it was, if the last battle was proof of anything, it was that he was doing pretty well with his dragon fighting. He'd have to do just as well a few more times though before she let him wander off completely alone. Last time he'd done so he'd come running back to her with a bunch of hungry dragons on his tail. Then again she supposed that he was a prentice then, one without clan or magic, so she doubted that he would be as easily defeated now.

Karayan nodded his head, "Of course, Gram! I will be sure to... Dragons!" He cried, spotting a group of them as they came up over a dune. His eyes went wide with delight before he went charging forward toward them. He gave them all a once over before spotting one amongst them that he really wanted a go at. A big, scarred up male, one that looked as though he'd done battle before on many occasions, a worthy opponent for sure! He'd battle with this one and then see about taking out the rest of the group he thought to himself, rather liking the idea of this many orbs going into his collection, "Prepare to cough up your orb dragon!" He said, lifting up a fist to brandish it at the beast before gathering sand to him, allowing it to wrap around his fists like earthen gauntlets.

From there he lunged in, taking a few swings at the big dragon, able to land a few blows here and there, ones that made a rather satisfying crunch sound. All the while, as he hit the creature the sand was build up around it, entangling it, making it so that it was unable to escape from this particular battle. Oh no, this one was all his! The dragon set to crackling, it's body becoming electrically charged, but lucky for Karayan his sand forged gauntlets were actually protecting him from harm. It was in no way something that he'd planned out ahead of time, instead just a whole lot of luck on his part, but it was working out well.

That was until he was able to lift himself up using the sand, landing a good blow against the creature's throat, crushing it. The moment the Kiandri boss started to crumble away the other dragons came charging at him, snarling all the while. Again by pure luck, a whole lot of training in the way of his magic, he was able to sense them coming through the very sand he was standing in. It allowed him to dodge out of the way of some of their attacks, though not all of them, before he dragged more sand around himself, using it as armor. He lifted his gaze up to stare at the dragons that were gathering, three of them, and send out a rush of sand to entangle them best that he could whilst being beat on from all sides. He wasn't looking super heroic at the moment, of that he was certain, but it wasn't as though he was going to give up. No, he could do this he would just need to fall back, regroup, and better plan out his next move.

Gathering some power into his hands he sent the sand flying in all directions, momentarily blinding the dragons, giving himself enough time that he could put space between himself and the trio of dragons. From where he was now standing, up on top of a dune on the opposite side of where he'd started, he starred down at the dragons. Alright, what to do next he found himself thinking, wishing that Madryn Col was here. He was much better at coming up with real plans where as Karayan just sort of made them up on the fly before charging head long into the fray. While he wasn't all that good at planning, not really, he felt that he would be able to do this given at least a bit of time.

Walking away just wasn't an option, especially given that he had a dragon orb waiting for him down there. Even now he could see it sparkling in the sand where it felt, "Alright, Karayan, what to do, what to do? I say we just charge on in, it worked the last couple times. Yeah, but these ones are alerted. Doesn't mean they are expecting me to come back so soon. True enough." He debated with himself, a habit that was completely normal for him but had Madryn looking at him like he was bonkers... which maybe he was. Still, after his training was done maybe he could go and visit his friend. Yet another reason to finish these guys off with a quickness.
