So you've decided to create a location - excellent! There's one rule: the title must be specific. This means you must give your location a name. Not just "The Inn" - it had to be "The Palanthas Inn" or something.
Other than that, here are some guidelines:
- State the time period. You don't want a high-powered corporation executive walking into your lancing arena, after all (unless there's time-travel involved).
- Link a picture.
- Mention any nearby locations. This sets some locations in the same universe. Bear in mind that by no means are all the locations in the same universe! That's why you should specify what's accessible to the characters in your location.
- Mention the types of people who frequent the place - shoppers, the undead, whatever. This helps create a specific atmosphere.
