Practicing magic wasn't exactly something that Karayan would consider the highlight of his day, mostly because it was his Gram having him cast the same spell over and over again, making sure that it was drilled into his head, taking all the fun out of it. Why he couldn't just dive right in and figure it out as he went was beyond him... but then again he supposed that in the long run it made sense. He was dealing with a rather dangerous, rather heavy element when using his magic and if he were to screw up he would probably crush himself with his own rocks... which would be even less fun then being forced to go through magic lessons. Finally though, after what felt like an eternity of boring lessons, he was on his way to finally get to apply the spells in combat! Not only in combat but in combat against a foe that he felt was worthy of trying his new found powers against.
He was on his way back to Eowyn so that he could face off with a few more of the Kiandri dragons, something that his Gram had suggested that they do, and he was eager to do it. He wanted more of the pretty orbs that they dropped since he knew that the number of them that you had was in direct correlation to how powerful a person was. He was eager to prove himself by getting that many more of the orbs for himself! He wanted to get stronger, to be able to prove him to Madryn Col, wanting his friend to be able to take him seriously and see him as a real warrior! It was difficult, if not impossible, to get any sort of good reaction out of Madryn Col, he was a rather stubborn sort that wasn't easy to impress, so he felt that if he could even get a smile or a nod from him that he was surely on the right path!
The moment the boat docked he was rushing off the ship, his Gram doing her best to keep up with him, as he left the port town and hurried toward the sandy area that was surrounding it. He was eager to get into battle sooner then later, and didn't really care that he was charging on ahead without much of a plan. When did he ever bother with plans after all? When a person had pure brute strength, something that he had in spades, they didn't need a plan other then 'smash the enemy' or so he believed. It was one of the main reasons that he drove Madryn Col crazy, of that he was certain, but it was his battle style. When it came to actually planning... well, he'd leave that to his friend! Madryn Col was a smart guy, he'd let him to all the planning, and he'd follow to the best of his ability! Well... unless he got too bored then he feared that he might still be tempted to charge on ahead. He chuckled a bit before his eyes went wide, spotting what it was that he was looking for, dragons!
"Ah ha! Found you!" He chirped in delight, clapping his hands together for a moment before he launched one of the spells he'd put the most time into toward the dragons. Much to his delight he was actually able to catch not one but two of the three dragons that were sitting there. The two of them were encased in a tomb of rocks, something that held the two still, and he hurriedly climbed his way up the gathered rocks. He gathered more rocks to him, wrapping them around his fists, before he set to pounding one of the dragons senseless. A few well placed blows and the dragon was crumbling away, the rocks holding in place crumbling as well, before he lunged for the other one. For the second one he flicked aside his rock 'gauntlets' and instead drew his bone dagger, using it on the Kiandri, trying to figure out which one was more effective against them.
He supposed that meant that the way he finished off the dragons would likely just depend on his mood that particular day, huh? Giving a smile before he moved to pick up the two orbs, inspecting them for a moment, he turned to see where the third dragon was at, wanting to finish that one off as well... but it would seem he was too late, it was already gone. Making a it of a face he turned around, spotting his Gram, and ran over to her, "Check it out, Gram! Two dragon orbs! Not bad for just arriving, huh?" He said, grinning up a storm as he let her look over the orbs he'd secured for himself, "I want to get more though! Can I fight other types of dragons, too? Are there more dragons around in this area? Can I fight them?" He asked in a rush of his Gram, tucking his orbs back into his pack when she was done looking them over.
The woman nodded her head, "When I am certain that you are ready to fight the bigger, more dangerous dragons I will help you to find them." She told him, reaching out to pat him on the head, before motioning to him, "Now, while that was a good battle, a really swift and decisive one, but a little messy. I know that you can do better." Words of encouragement that had Karayan nodding before hue was hurrying forward to seek out more dragons to battle with.
