If you've come this far, then you must be getting the hang of your steam bike pretty well. Intermediate course is no joke, since once you get out onto the highway between Iwatodai and Okina City you've got such a big, open road to drive on. But with all the twists and turns and the hills and the open-elements, there's a whole lot of room for error! Seriously, turn back now...

This is the long stretch of highway between Okina City and Iwatodai, which will bring you into the meat of our Intermediate course...Okina City. Take advantage to see the countryside...maybe even a couple of deer...and run your foes off the road with absolute prejudice.

Haoul Yamakaji And Kanade Tachibana

Haoul's bike was having a bit of trouble with control, as he glanced down the pathway, seeing all of the twists and turns.
"Tch.." he sounded, trying his best to make up for his lost ground...but losing speed fast. He had to keep driving, or else she'd..
Kanade had to let off of the throttle, some cars making it so that she couldn't motor through like she wanted to, and slowing down considerably. She cringed, before seeing the red haired man having similar trouble.
"If you wanna give up, you can still Pull off you know." she snapped back, trying to regain lost ground. She had caught up to him...With a little luck and speed...

Saiga had kept at a steady, slow pace...before suddenly noticing how a certain masked figure had caught up.
"Damn it." she called, starting to weave through some cars to put between the two. He didn't seem like the type to play fair, and she really didn't want to start skidding along the highway at god knows how fast they were going.

As Kiki-Jiki had caught up to Saiga, he had began to laugh as he to drive forward. He was having an easy time going up, and was not willing forgive himself for choking.

Saiga deliberately slowed down a bit as Kanade followed, watching her start to slow down. They were on the path between Okina and Iwatodai, a long stretch which would be a good way to pick up some speed...
"Presuming traffic isn't too bad.." she called, not daring to look back at Kanade. It was a race, after all, and she didn't need any distractions.
Kanade frowned as Saiga seemed to slow down, taking it as a bit of an insult.
"Are you.." she started, before leaning down and gripping her handlebars, revving her engine up more as she went to try to catch up. She had forgotten about the goal of this anymore, and was getting caught up in the spirit of the competition.

"Goodness.."
The race sure was something, that was for sure. With the thuggish guy struggling to keep his lead, Nix hot on his heels, and even Yosuke's sporadic shortcuts, it was turning out a lot closer than one might think it would.
"I guess I should try to get serious..." Faust called, leaning into his bike, and revving the engine hard. He was falling behind almost constantly, and he didn't want to trail for the whole race.... Even as they passed into Okina, he kept his wits about him, and his eyes darted to make sure that he wasn't going to run into anything...dangerous.
Well, more dangerous than Yosuke's Crazy driving, of course....

"I can't stttoooop!" Most people would have simply thought this was Yosuke shouting as he panicked at this point, but seriously, he was stepping on hte break and the bike wasn't slowing down no matter what he did! It was like it was locked in to some sort of super driving awesome speedy GO mode or something!...also he didn't realize that in his panic he was using the pedal for gas, not the hand brake, so it was his own fault this was all happening.

"And that Senpai you were so sweet on? Her death was the perfect excuse!"

There was no telling how they would do now that they were moving into a much more dangerous road, but while Gin wanted to slow down a little for everyone's sake, he wasn't going to go lightly on them and then complain that he was doing it for their own sake later. They were all competitors, so he'd give it the best of his ability. Having taken the first leg of the race, he pumped his fist in the air as he entered the country, standing a little high on his bike. "Yes! Yes! Yes!" Not that he was a violent person, but if there were baseball bats and chains involved right now...well, Gin would probably club someone over the head and take one. He was pretty in to this sort of thing.

Deep down in his heart of hearts, he was already regretting it. Those words that he had let slip past his lips as the started out onto the open road back there in Iwatodai; how he had shouted them in such childish glee, only now remembering that he basically told everyone he was...no, no! He wouldn't get caught up in the guilt and the disappointment and...but really, why would he even say that?! Nia would have scolded him...or shook her head...and he could see her disappointed face and that just KILLED him inside!

"Bugger off...? Honestly, Nito, you can do better than that!" he sighed as he cruised along, barely aware of the race as he flew, "I'll have to buy her another Doge to apologize...maybe take her to a puppet show...do we have those around here?"

Better question...why on Earth would she WANT to see a puppet show?

Lost, yet to be found.
Tezuka watched as the rugged-looking guy pulled ahead of him, taking the lead.
"Thank goodness..." he called, having eased a bit off the gas. "I don't know my way around here at all...."
They were moving around through two cities, both unfamiliar to him. He did his best to merely follow the others in their own paths, trying to not let his worries get to him. It was a decently relaxing experience. And yet.....
"I wonder how Minori is doing.." he added quietly to himself, continuing on.

Okay, so Gin just wanted to clear up one myth right now. Just because he occasionally WROTE music that was specifically listened to by the motorcycle gang types, didn't mean that he automatically had some sort of knowledge on how to ride with the best of them. Though it was true that if someone who loved your music saw you, they might invite you to a get together, and then when you were there they might give you a few tips on how to ride your bike better and invite you to a couple of not-so-legal races. Gin did his best not to cross the law, but there were times when pleasing the fans came first, you understand? And so okay yes, he had occasionally done some illegal street racing, but whether that was helping him now or not was anyone's guess. He was ahead by a little...but this race was still anyone's game. "Show me that fire of yours, Nix! A heavy-leather girl like you can't be all out of spitfire yet!"

He wasn't going to win at this rate. That much was a given.

Unless things turned around and quickly, he was going to be shelling out parts for those who passed and defeated him along the track, and that was just disappointing to think about. Still, he was a man of his word and he would do everything he could to pay up on his bill if that's what it came down to. But he wasn't quite finished yet, and if he couldn't win, he could still take down a few of these racers. It was all a matter of speed and patience. Speed and patience.
