xxxSybil danced around in the large room decorated with large pink ribbons and glossy silks. The room was definitely a girl's play room. It had large toys and many different stuffed animals. Porcelain dolls sitting on top of the mantle of the fire place. There were rugs and blankets, a small table and a little metal, play kitchen. It was fit for a princess, that room. Sybil thought this place to be a wonderland. There were new toys appearing, ones made of plastic and dolls also made from the material. The new children that came in preferred those toys, Sybil enjoyed playing with them as well but was partial to one certain doll, a brunette doll that sat on the mantle. She had painted on eyes, not the glass ones that moved, it made her much prettier. The doll wore a frock of silk and had a velvet coat lying over her shoulders. She had a fur trim had and a beautiful bow around her neck. Sybil could just die looking at her, it wouldn't mean anything though due to the fact she was already dead.

The seven year old pranced out of the room, the other children were playing a queer game in there, it was a curious game they called it pet sitter. Sybil didn't know what to think about the girls. They had new ideas, ones that most likely came form their time period, as Sybil found out, but she still coulnd't eve fathom understanding them any time soon. They were odd and Sybil found interest in the adults rather than the children. Sitting at the top of the stairs with her legs through the railing and dangling above the heads of all those walking below Sybil smiled and watched as the door opened and closed every few minutes.

Allise entered the mansion to find the bright lights of a ball, she was dressed in a gown that was fit for a queen. She couldn't remember how she had died at the moment and didn't want to either since she was filled with happiness.

Even though he had just arrived, Basilone was having the time of his life. He had initially been confused and surprised upon finding himself dressed in formalwear at the entrance, but upon seeing the interior of the mansion, all the people inside, and the wondrous party going on, he had been filled with happiness and had lost himself in the merriment and joy of the mansion. Gone was the war which was his last memory and which had blown open his chest, claiming his life. Gone were his blood and dirt stained fatigues. Gone was the hell of conflict, death, and dismemberment. His many achievements on the field of battle were forgotten as he enjoyed himself within the mansion. They didn't matter anymore. He was dead, and while he hoped to have done good in his life, he thought no more about it. He took swigs from the glass of wine he had taken and laughed, and talked, and simply enjoyed, among everyone else around him.

Allise notcied after a while that there was a gentleman who just walked in shortly after her and was enjoying himself thoroughly especially with some help from the wine, she took a glass herself but sipped at it. She then noticed that there was a little girl at the top of the staircase just watching people come in and wander about. She decided to see who this girl was and maybe talk to her about things that they noticed.

An hour had passed and Richie was already completely drunk, going off and chatting to whoever would listen to his rambling for at least a moment. He had spilt wine on his tie at one point, and forgot to go wash it. Afterall, he was dead, and what did it matter? He had gotten past the death rather quickly, because it was very bound to happen in the way that he lived. The only thing he had been upset about, was not being able to remember what exactly had happened. But with enough wine and brandy, he had forgotten everything anyway. For a moment as he pranced about to go flirt with a lean man that wandered in, he glanced up and noted the girl at the staircase, nibbling on his lip as he observed her. When he was distracted then, he glanced about for any lone men and quickly found one.

"Aye, ello laddie," The Scottish man chirped happily as he came near Basilone. "Ye havin fun, hm?" Richie wore a big curious grin, that obviously held very flirty undertones to it as he gulped down more wine. His eyes darted around excitedly, and whether it was simply his personality or the excitement of the night, he seemed like a very busy, active person. Like he was always darting about, having things to do. Even while he spoke to Basilone he looked about and made eye contact with him once or twice.

Basilone was no stranger to Irish accents such as the one which the man who had come up to him had. Many a time, while he was alive, he had drunk alongside, and sometimes fought drunken brawls against, Irish men. Despite being dead, Basilone was still perfectly comfortable drinking wine alongside an Irishman, and death only made the company more easy to enjoy.

Placing a drunken hand on Richie's shoulder, Basilone took another swig of wine with his free hand, then responded, "Sir, I may be dead, but I'm havin' the time of my life right now." Basilone flashed a great, joyful, carefree smile, the tie of his formalwear now askew. "Who knew that you'd get to enjoy all this after you died? I sure didn't, but I don't mind the surprise at all."

Richie's happy grin only spread more as the man responded in a comradely way, and even with a hand on his shoulder. He could smell the alcohol on his breath, but he definitely was not one to speak. He laughed giddily with the silly pun the man had played, a big booming laugh. "Yeah? How could ye not!" He replied, chuckling. He did eye the hand on his shoulder, knowing in a very cynical way that it was not there in the way he wished it to be, but in a jovially, friendly way. Either way he was glad to know he found himself in the company with someone so friendly. And drunk! He took another big gulp of his drink before grinning towards Basilone, glancing away once again to observe a couple dancing. It was strange to think that everyone here was dead, as well. Because everyone was so joyful. Everyone looked very alive.

"And how'd such a handsome lad find himself here?" Richie chirped, grinning widely. Most of his questions weren't actually asking for an answer, just simply a bit of a ramble. Though he was truly interested, for this one. "Ye know, dead and everythin'," The Scottish man purred and brought both his hands to his glass, his grin widening.

The newspapers had been chock full of news about him. He'd been killing the women on the streets, exclusively, and still Raegan hadn't paid attention. She should have. To recall her last living memories was to plunge herself back into the most gruesome nightmare she'd ever experienced. Even now, surrounded by the lively party bustling around her, she was still shaken to the core. Would she ever get used to this? She hadn't wanted to die.

Throwing her shoulders back, she forced herself to speak to the two men she'd seen on her way in. She didn't know anyone, so they were as good an option as any, right?

"Where can I get a stiff drink around here?" she asked, her voice holding a bitter undertone she knew she couldn't quite shake. It had been that way in life as well.

Basilone had been loathe to answer the question, and some of his euphoria had drained him as he prepared to answer the Irishman's question. Just as he had opened his mouth to speak, however, with his face squinted in discomfort, a woman suddenly swung her way between them, requesting a drink in a carefree manner. Relieved that the woman's appearance had distracted from the question he had been asked and excited to indulge in more party activities, the energizing happiness of the occasion shot right back into him, and grabbing a bottle of what seemed like rum, he held it up for the woman to see and said in a loud voice, "Open up, dearie. Got your stiff drink right here!"

Richie was not really such an observant fella, but he could tell when someone didn't want to answer something. And maybe it was just alcohol or something, but he definitely thought something was up. He opened his mouth to tell him something, he hadn't really figured it out yet. Maybe just change the subject, maybe tell him it didn't matter. But a woman spoke in a voice he wanted to hear again, and he turned slightly with a large grin on his face. He glanced back to Basilone as he handed her the bottle and laughed, raising his glass. "Aye, cheers, yeah?" And looked back to the other man with wide, encouraging eyes.

He thought then, he should have killed himself a long time ago if this was the afterlife. For a second there he remembered his death he had forgotten, but pushed it behind him with a big grin and tapped his glass to Basilone's, and then to the woman's bottle as he exploded in small giggles, "Cheers to dyin'. To the afterlife!" Richie Barber cheered happily and went to gulp down his drink.

Raegan took the bottle and flashed a grateful smile to the man who'd given to her. But when Richie suggested a toast, she only shrugged. "You two can have your toast. I'm not so fond of being dead," she said, a cold edge hanging from her words. How could these people be all right with dying? If this really was the afterlife, that is. For all they knew this could be some transition period. Or worse - she might be in a coma and imagining this whole thing. Or maybe that's just what she wanted to believe. Anything at all would seem better than knowing she was actually dead. She scowled, taking a deep swig from the bottle. Her face would probably make headlines. And she wouldn't get to see a word of them.

Basilone was slightly taken aback when the woman gave Ritchie an icy, antisocial response and crushed his attempt at a toast. He was confused and slightly miffed for a moment before remembering where they were. He should have figured that not everyone would be as comfortable with death as himself and Richie were. It wasn't an entirely comforting thought, after all. But Basilone had probably experienced one of the worst deaths among them-having his chest being blown apart by an explosion amid war and battle and dying a traumatic, drawn-out death-and if he could move past it and enjoy the party, so could anyone else. He was unsure about the nature of Richie's death, but he was sure that the Irishman would agree with him.

Basilone adopted an understanding, friendly smile, handed the woman a glass and popped the top of the rum bottle for her, then said, "It's all in the past now, ma'am! You're gonna be awfully depressed at a party for the rest of eternity if ya' don't move past it, and that's no fun!"

Richie supposed he hadn't exactly even thought that some people here might not be comfortable with the fact that they were dead. He hadn't even figured until a second ago that everyone here would be dead. He didn't mind her response, though, it only made him laugh again and down his drink. Basilone was attempting to cheer her up, and Richie found that awfully sweet.

Richie grinned a giggly big grin and nodded at what he said to her, "Ah, that's right," The Scot looped a friendly arm around Basilone's shoulder, slumping a little to meet his height. "Apologies fer remindin' ye, hm? Don't even think about it, darlin', just enjoy yerself," He sent another big grin to Raegan. "What's yer name, hun?"

Raegan replied with a small smile, aware that the two of them were only trying to make her feel better. Before replying, she tipped her head back and took another drink. "I guess it is in the past," she said absently. "My name's Raegan. How long have you two been here? Is everyone who's ever died..." she trailed off, looking around the room. There were quite a few people present. How big was this mansion, anyway? And what did the rest of it look like? Despite feeling negatively about the fact that she was dead, she couldn't help but be a bit curious as well. When she'd woken up this morning, this was the last place she expected to find herself by nightfall.
