A faint groan escaped Jack's lips as he regained consciousness; it was muffled by the gag and ended up barely even audibly to the boy himself. He was confused and disoriented, unsure of where he was and what was going on. His head was throbbing, there seemed to be a chill in the air and it felt like he was tied to a chair his gag and blind fold felt softer than the rough material that bound his arms and legs to the chair.

Jack closed his eyes as he tried to concentrate and think back to the last thing he could remember. Not that it changed his ability to see at all. He had been in bed, something had woken him up and he rolled over that was when he spotted someone. The figure was tall and in dark clothing, and they definitely were not his father, he had tried to pull himself up and out of bed to try and run past him to the door but the man had been faster and hit him on the back of he head before he managed to even sit up straight. He hit the floor with a thump and his vision started to waver. He felt a pokemon pin him down, it must have been hiding in the shadows waiting for its master to move. Jack thought he heard the man say something before passing out but he couldn’t recall what it was.

Jack gulped his heart started racing, these people who ever they were, they were going to kill him. That was the most likely scenario. He wouldn’t be surprised if this had something to do with his father; a cop had a lot of enemies after all. "So the princess is finally awake is she?" A gruff deep voice mocked from somewhere to the right of jack. Jack stiffened he hadn't realized someone was in the room with him; he resisted the urge to turn his head towards the area the sound had come from.

After a few moments the silence was broken by a series of beeping noises. Jack would have been fidgeting in an attempt to calm himself down but every time his father had caught him twitching or twiddling his thumbs he had been rewarded with a smak, so the boy sat still as ridged as a piece of stone. He had no idea what was going on and like anyone who had been kidnaped out of their room in the middle of the night was absolutely terrified, the beeping noise wasn't making it any better. He nearly sighed in relief when the beeping turned to ringing. His captor had been dialing a phone number, so he for the moment was safe from being blown up by a bomb or something.

If he had to guess Jack would say that it was most likely a ransomed call to his father. That guess would have been corrected. The phone was for some reason on speakerphone and Jack instantly recognized his father’s angry rumbling voice on the other end of the phone. "Hello Officer Hayes, I assume you found the note we left? I do hope that you will agree to the terms listed on it, I'm sure that you would hate for anything bad to happen to you son." The gruff voiced man purred into the phone. It sounded like he was enjoying himself. "And how the hell do I know that he's even still alive." The voice on the other end of the snapped back. There was a tsk tsking noise before the rocket responded "That hurts, but I suppose that since you don't believe me I'll have to let him say hello." Jack heard the steady thump of the older man’s boots on the floor as the older man came over to him. A shudder went down Jacks spine as he felt the blade of a knife against his cheek. The cold blade was between his skin and the fabric of the gag, which quickly fell away when the rocket pulled the knife back. "Speak" The man commanded the boy. "D dad" Jack gasped, trying to calm himself down. He had been positive that the knife would have cut him as well as the gag. "Tch, You really are pathetic aren’t you jack? Can’t even put up a damn fight when being kidnaped." Mr Hayes snapped. "But he…" Jack tried to explain before getting cut off by his father "I don’t want any of your lame a** excuses’ boy and what did I teach you about talking back?” Jack flinched at that last line, as if he expected to get hit. “What the hell did you do invite them over for a cup of tea or something?" Mr Hayes finished with an angry snort before continuing his rant "Now I have to make a deal with these bastards to save your pathetic a**. When you get home I am going to have to teach, your punk a** a lesson you got that?" Jack nodded to himself and he tried to fight of the tears that were threating to fall. "Yes sir."

The rocket pulled the phone away and started to finish the negotiations. "You have five hours to get the stuff ready, I'll call you back then, if you don’t have what we are asking, well I'm sure you know what will happen to him." He chuckled darkly. The phone snapped shut and the rocket walked off to get a new gag, a door slamming behind him. Jack was left in the cold dark room with nothing but his restless mind, aching head, and rising fear.

[I didn't expect this to be so long xD I'm sorry! But I figure Jacks in like an interrogation room so others can see and hear in, but not out. So Xander could have heard what happened and stuff, also probably a guard outside the room?]

Jack lifted his head up slightly, hearing the door open again. Was it the same one who had just left? Had he realized that he had forgotten to replace the gag after the phone call? Or did they have something worse planed, now that his father had 'proof' of his survival were they going to kill him despite not yet having what they were after? Of course they could just be planing to hurt him for the fun of it. Jack took a shaky breath trying to keep calm and get rid of the darker thoughts they wouldn't help him any.

The door shut wasn't as loud as the last time it closed and the foot steps sounded softer as well. He relaxed a bit as the person spoke, the person sounded nicer than the last one he had met.

"..Why?" The question fell from his lips before he even realized he was thinking it. He flinched expecting to be hit, don't speak until spoken too that was one of his fathers biggest rules. But why indeed, why would they offer what would someone pathetic like him get them and what could he give them in-exchange? He also wasn't sure why he would take it, sure his father was mean and hit I'm sometimes but he still loved him right? It was just tough love right? He would be fine for a few more years wouldn't he?

"He wasn't all ways that way..." Jack whispered softly half to himself. The rocket was was right though, family was important and that was why he needed to go back, if he worked hard enough, his father would be kind and warm the way his father was before His mother's death Right? It would get better wouldn't it? "But if I leave him, what family do I have left then?" He asked unsure what to do. There was all ways a chance that no mater what he did nothing would change was the chance of being happy again worth the suffering it would take to make it?

Jack paused unsure what to do the way he put it sounded nice, to have a family again, a semi normal family. But that would be ignoring the fact that this was a criminal gang and they hurt people, they had kidnapped him and chances are a lot of the got killed. "But you kill people... How could I join something like that?" He did want to be free of his father, he was starting to realize that, but he couldn't leave if it meant joining a group of assassins, that would be a dishonor to his mother, it would make her roll in her grave if he became a monster like the one that killed her wouldn't it?

The other male seem genuinely surprised about his question so it seemed to Jack that they might not all be monsters who rip apart random people who are just trying to walk home in the dark. they were just protecting their family? "It hurts other peoples family's too." He said softly pain flashing on his face for half a second. He paused thinking, if it was just stealing it would be okay right? He didn't want to hurt anyone but he also didn't want to be hurt anymore. He opened his mouth to say something but then paused for a moment before speaking softly. "When ever I don't live up to his expectations he all ways rants about be ending up a pathetic criminal if i don't straiten out. " He swallowed hard before continuing. " I guess he was right." Jack muttered softly. There was no guarantee that his father would actually make the deal, he hated making deals with criminals, more likely he would try to go in guns blazing but he wouldn't be able to find were they were and Jack was starting to wonder if his father even cared enough to come save him.

Jack had somehow manged to relax a bit during the conversation, if it was not for the fact that he couldn't see due to the blind fold he might have forgotten that he was a hostage. "yeah" he said softly, the Adrenalin was starting to ware off and he was beginning to feel a bit sleepy. "Yeah, I guess" He tensed for a moment feeling Xanders hand on him but relaxed when it was just a friendly squeeze. "The world is full of colors huh?" he mumbled softly.

He had been hoping for a quite implied joining, after all those years of living with his father he was sure if he would be able to get the words out. For nearly as long as he could remember he had all ways had decisions made for him, he had never actually chosen to do something, and now he had to agree, commit to something that he had chosen, chosen for himself and ti was a big chose that would effect everything in his life. He nodded, then sighed, that wouldn't be good enough they waned, they needed his word. Jack took a deep shaky breath. "I I agree, I agree to join team rocket." He let out his shaky breath, everything he had been told growing up by his father was screaming at him telling him not to that he was a fool, but there was a tiny part, a spark of hope. Hope that tomorrow would end up being a better day than today.
