Dory got a message that Finn was awake again.
It didn't take him long to act upon it - sure he waited a bit because it was pretty likely that Fini had already gotten there before anyone - girlfriend and all. But, man, he really wanted to see Finn awake and conscious - when he and Nick had found him passed out in his bed after the grand-fallout, he couldn't help but worry that s**t would get worse for the Moon Hunter.
Rapping his knuckles lightly on the door, he looked in to the room, blue eyes peering around the door frame.
"'ey Finn, you awake and able?" He called out, eyebrows pinned up high, hoping that he would receive an answer, like an expectant puppy.

Finn had somehow garnered himself enough friends since being on the island that his visitors on that first day after awakening had become a steady progression of one after another after another. The only problem with that, though he appreciated the concern in some small way, was that it was his best friend and his woman that had yet to make any appearance at all. At the rapping knuckles he had cause to hope that Fini had arrived at last, to put to rest the notion in his head that he had indeed killed her himself. When the voice that went along with the rapping, however, was decidedly un-Finilike and incredibly french accented he had to grind his teeth together to keep from letting out a sound of frustration. Breathing out slowly through his nose, he then took a long inhale and answered, his voice still gruff, throat sore from all of his screaming protests the day before in the classroom. "Yes, I am awake. Not very able, but awake." He shifted in his bed, sitting himself up more though every movement was painful. "Come on in, sit down, tell me all about how shitty I look. Oh, thanks for the smokes, by the way."

Welp.
From the glance that he got, he knew immediately that Dory was not the drone he was looking for. Maybe he should have waited a little longer. But, hey, Finn was his friend too, and he was here, so he was going to sit down and have the best conversation he could with a guy he was worried had bitten it. So there, suck it.
"Yeah, you look like the dog dragged you through th'fire, before bringing you 'ome." He offered up, content that Finn still had his personality. "But, I figure everyone 'as told you that, non? You're welcome, also, I figured you'd need them to calm down. Lot to take in, I am sure." He offered, before tilting his head a little.
"Women like eyepatches though, I've 'eard."

He couldn't help but scoff a laugh, even if that too came with a shooting pain that traveled across his ribs, making him grimace, his eye closing. "Ya well, this dog managed to get himself run over by a semi before being drug through the fire. Or at least, that's about how it feels." A one shouldered shrug went with the words, and then a smile curled up his lips. It was a strange thing, to be smiling after what he had endured, but it was nowhere near a happy smile, his gaze as cold and hard as ever. "Ah, yes, well when they let me out of the no smoking or you might blow up the room zone, I'll happily utilize the calming benefits to be had from such a fine product as nicotine." His smile grew, more a vicious baring of teeth then anything. "I have a feeling my woman is not so impressed. I'm sure she'll come around, eventually." If she was even alive. His memories still insisted that he had killed her, despite Trynt assuring him it was false.

At least Finn seemed to have his sense of humour about him still. Leaning back in to his chair, he watched as Finn talked, nodding his head a little. Sometimes you just needed to listen to someone talk.
"It is a shame." He started, looking around the room. "If it was me, I would 'ave already attempted to smoke already. You 'ave a much stronger sense of -- ehh," a pause, "ce qui est le monde, la volonté. Uh. Willpower than me." He teased a little. It was better to keep the conversation light - he didn't feel like pushing the envelope too much if Finn didn't want to talk about it. This was a friend.
"To be 'onest, I 'aven't seen Fini. But I've 'eard she's well enough. So we 'ave that - I'm sure she'll show up." He piped up after a moment. "I~ think it's dashing." He teased.

"I would have called it more along the lines of a sense of self preservation, but obviously I am lacking in that." Of course, knowingly risking blowing up himself as well as the deus hospital was a tad more irresponsible then simply asking the Death lead a question, but apparently no less deadly. "Trust me, as soon as I can get out of this bed and away from all of these machines and oxygen tanks, I will be enjoying that cigarette."At the other man's admission to having not seen Finn's woman, the moon trainee shrugged his shoulders, then winced slightly at the pain that shot down his arm and up the side of his neck from the motion. At some point he was going to remember to not try and move around so much. "Well, she's certainly taking her sweet a** time about visiting, that's for damn ******** sure." He muttered, before flashing Dorian a toothy smile. "That's something, then. Maybe if she ends up deciding I'm not worth showing up for, me and you can spend a little more time together talking about how ridiculously sexy I am." He might have winked, if he could, but he couldn't so he settled for a suggestive eyebrow waggle instead.
