Kilian stood in the doorway of their home, gaze drifting over the endless amounts of sand dunes. Soon, the sand would be replaced with snow. The hot weather with frigid temperatures that Kilian was not yet use to. His fingers brushed over the surface of the stone of song, that Erionda had gift him with, and a small smile crept onto his face. He leaned his shoulder against the door frame as he pocketed the stone and took a deep breath.

His smile was quickly replaced by a frown when he thought about them moving. He was looking forward to moving with Erionda, that wasn't what was wrong. It seemed, though, that Erionda had caught some kind of bug and was sick. Would they be able to make the move? While it didn't seem too bad at the moment, Kilian worried that the move would make it worse.

He sighed as he pushed away from the door and ventured back into their home. Only the bare minimums remained, enough to keep them semi-comfortable as they finished with some last minute duties before moving to Aisko. All that remained of Kilian's things were a few clothes and his armor and swords. Everything else was tucked away, safely in their Aisko home. His gaze wondered over the bare room, searching for Erionda. "Rio?" he called out, wondering where she had disappeared to. Kilian hoped that she wasn't sick again.

Erionda rested against the frame of the bedroom door. The offensive smells from the past two days hadn't been around to bother her much today. Uassae had figured it was some of the herbs she kept around that were causing her upset. So he and Lanzecki had promptly removed them from the house. They had even been packed up with other things on the two Hastar Erionda currently owned.

Her head lolled sleepily to one side, her arms crossed over her stomach in wonder. Would she even be able to make it to Aisko today? The trip often took a full two days to make and her house was located in the mountains on Aisko. Groaning at the protest her body gave her Erionda tried to straiten up. Blinking as she heard her mate calling out to her. "I'm coming." Erionda responded promptly gathering up the energy to move forward. Glad when a familiar nose pressed into her side with a cautious rumble.

Erionda's older Drakein was ever vigilant on her health. Casting a healing spell to help her move he let her climb onto his back. Uassae was a powerful Drakien and while slightly larger in stature to the others because of his Aeduan breed he no longer was able to fly with her on his back like they could when she was a child. He could still be content with her riding on his back once in a while. All Drakein were large enough to carry someone on their back once they hit full growth, and he was proud to be considered fully grown.

Groaning again Erionda relaxed against Uassae with a muttered thank you. Earning his rumble in return. She felt his wings lift up and shift as she moved into the learned position. "The hastar, how are they?"

"Your Hastar is carrying a few last minute items, the one often left for Kilian is empty for him." Uassae responded, moving down the stairs towards the main entrance to the house. "Since he should have no problem catching and mounting that one."

With a smile Erionda greeted Kilian as he came into view. She loved him, and was ever grateful that he was willing to make the shift for her. The heat of Eowyn was driving her mad, maybe that was the reason she had become so sick.

Kilian's gaze took in Erionda's appearance. While she didn't look as bad as she had been, he could still tell she was feeling sick. He made his way over to Uassae and patted the drakein on the neck as he looked up at Erionda. "How are you feeling?" he asked as he moved away from the duo to grab his gear. "Are you alright to move today Rio?" Kilian asked as a worried look replaced his smile.

Erionda nodded. "I'm alright." She turned her attention towards the hastar waiting for Kilian to start moving. Uassae gathered up Erionda's older Hastar with the rest of the items from the house. Lanzecki took to the sky circling above as Uassae brought the rope with the Hastar attached up to Erionda's hands. Nudging to make sure she was ok.

Kilian's gaze stayed on Erionda as she moved about. He shook his head, amazed with how strong his mate was, even when sick. Gathering up the last of his things, he moved to catch the hastar that was always left for him. It took a bit of coaxing, this time around, to get onto the beast's back but soon he was atop it and pulling it up next to Erionda. "We should get going.” He gave one last look to Erionda as Amadia took off over the sand, getting a running start before shoving off with her hind legs and soaring into the air to meet up with Lanzecki.

Kicking his hastar, the beast took off, galloping over the sands as the sun began to sink in the sky. The travel across the desert, like always, seemed to fly by. Every now and then Kilian would glance towards the sky, laughing as he watched Amadia fly around Lanzecki. As they neared the port, Kilian pulled his hastar back to a slow trot and fell back next to Erionda. He smiled at his mate as Amadia landed next to him and nudged her snout up under Kilian’s hand.

“Strange to think this will be the last day we call this place home,” Kilian said as he looked back out over the desert they had just crossed. The home he’d been living in for so long was no longer in sight. Chances were, he’d probably never see it again. He wasn’t even sure what would happen to the place now that they were no longer going to live there. He hadn’t asked Erionda and she’d never mentioned it to him. He didn’t mind, though. The house, though he had been living there, was solely Erionda’s and she could do with it as she pleased.

Erionda found the travel over the sands smooth as she rode on Uassae's back. He was careful not to jostle her too much, and often found the most even path so she wouldn't be yanked by the Hastar's lead as it struggled to keep up behind them. The shadow of Lanzecki and Amadia playing above was welcome as it blotted out the sun from time to time. Coughing Erionda was startled when her magic reacted on it's own, sending ice snaking across her arms and down her back.

Shivering at the strange sensation Erionda's eyes watched her mate's back. Always so far ahead of her, so much out of reach. It bothered her a bit that while she was feeling ill she just wanted to be sitting at home. Well within the comfort of her mate's arms. Closing her eyes she tried to down out her own thoughts and wants. Tugging the cloak around her shoulders tighter and lifting the hood over her horns.

As they drew closer to the port as a group Erionda felt a growing unease. Motioning to Uassae to stop, Erionda quickly dismounted and hurried around a sand dune. The contents of her stomach spilled into the sands. Giving a piteous groan she was happy to know Kilian hadn't noticed. And if he had he didn't act as if he knew.

Scrambling back up onto Uassae Erionda wrapped her arms around her stomach. Thankful for the light blue cloth around her form. Closing her eyes she willed herself to feel better. Jumping when Kilian spoke her mismatched eyes darted to scan her mate before looking around her. When had they reached the port of Taliuma?

"I'm ok with never returning here. The one thing I will miss is Tukyere. Perhaps I may have to return from time to time in order to visit the great floating tree and the rest of the hybrids." Erionda whispered pulling her cloak tight around her body. Slipping down off her companions back Erionda briefly held her hand out to her mate. "Would it be ok, for us to visit Taliuma's stalls before the ship arrives."

The docks had no boats anchored at the moment and with nothing seen on the horizon, Erionda figured it would be at least another hour before they could even set foot on the boats that would carry them to their new home. Which was well enough, it would give her time to let her stomach settle before being up heaved again by the tossing waves of the ocean.

"We can return any time you like. We'll have to for supplies, most likely." A small smile spread across Kilian's face as he reached his hand out as Erionda did the same. He laced his fingers between her's and tugged her close, arms snaking around her for a brief embrace. He leaned down to place a kiss at her temple before pulling back, worry creasing his forehead at the pale look of her skin. Was she feeling ill again?

He was about to speak up, ask her if she was feeling alright, but her question stalled his words. "That would be fine." He pulled away from Erionda long enough to grab his hastar's reins and was back by Erionda's side in a blink of an eye. Brushing a strand of hair away from her face, he smiled down at her. Despite her being sick, she was still the most beautiful being he had set his gaze on in the longest of times. Leaning down, he brushed a quick kiss along her lips as his arm wrapped around her shoulders, pulling her close to his side.

Kilian kept his arm around Erionda as they made their way into the port. His gaze scanned the area, ever weary of anyone that kept their gaze on Erionda too long. He was protective of his mate and would be until the day he was dead. He didn't care who saw him with her either. He would never be ashamed of who his mate was; hybrid or not. His gaze flicked to the many stalls and their wares. He paused as his gaze fell onto a pair of fancy, warm looking cloaks. He looked back down to Erionda and smiled as he pointed them out. Letting his arm slip from around her shoulders he handed the reins of the hastar off to Amadia as he went over to the stall in question. He haggled with the older dovaa selling the cloaks and was able to get it down to a reasonable price.

He returned to Erionda, holding out the cloak he'd bought her. Kilian smiled as he folded his own, new cloak over his arm and held his hand out for her to take.

His skin against her own sent a rush of pleasure through her. Calming the edges of her nerves. It took all she could to emotionally hold back tears from escaping her eyes. Her nose and cheeks dusted with emotion. Her arms wrapped around him, it was shocking to her that he wasn't afraid of their relationship in the open port. With people not far from them.

She lingered in the embrace as long as she could. Struggling not to let the strange new tide of emotion course over her. Her moods were every where lately, angry one moment, defensive the next, tears followed everything. She had to hold back her pained moan when he pulled away to retrieve the hastar he was riding. Completely forgetting the one carrying her own luggage.

I've got it

Uassae's reassurance filled her mind. Touching the painful emotions again. Trembling with the effort not to let them break through. Failing as his lips brushed briefly against hers. The warm salt water trickled down her face. Glad for the tattered hood of the old cloth around her face. No one would be able to see her tears unless they looked at her directly.

Something told her people felt to intimidated to look at the group for too long. Three Drakein and an Oblivionite were often enough to curb most of the locals from saying anything in their presence. Let alone her own reputation of dashing through the port and causing trouble when she was younger. Erionda pressed closer to Kilian as they entered the bustle of the busy port. It was obvious a ship was on it's way in with how quickly everyone moved from one place to the next. And the way the crowds swirled towards the docks.

Watching Kilian intently as he pointed out the cloaks on the stall Erionda felt herself shrink back a little. Feeling embarrassed at the way her old one had become tattered during her hunts. Shrinking back against Uassae's chest for reassurance as Kilian left her side. Her mind swam with curiosity at what Kilian was doing until he returned with two cloaks in his hands.

Her eyes grew wide as she gasped, tears spilled down her cheeks, faster than they had only moments before. Her heart thundered in her chest and her eyes rose to meet the hollow sockets of her mate. The feelings coursing through her couldn't be explained in her mind. Pushing away from Uassae Erionda wanted to hug Kilian tightly. She had never expected such soft actions from him, and he always surprised her at every turn.

Erionda's breath rushed out of her as he extended his arm. She wanted him, more than anything. The distance between them closed in the slit second it took for his hand to extend and her mind to realize what was happening. Her arms wrapped lovingly around him. Ignoring the way the warm gusting air had knocked her tattered hood away from her head. Her arms wrapped tightly around Kilian.

"Thank you Kilian." Her voice broke as she spoke. She couldn't explain how happy this small action had made her. The sound of the ships pulling into the docks and their planks hitting the wooden platform caused her to flinch, tightening her arms around Kilian. Now she was fearful? Emotions swirled out of control and there was nothing she could do to keep them in balance. That sent her into fits of anger under all the other emotions.

"Be glad you don't have to deal with a female for a bonded." Lanzecki muttered to Amadia ruffling his wings with agitation. "Female moods will make anyone sick." Whimpering at the sudden barrage of Erionda's emotions and the way her eyes settled on him Lanzecki made a sharp turn towards the boat that would eventually take them to the next port.

Words of "I didn't mean it" caught on the wind as he scurried away.

"Of course you did. You just don't want to face the consequence now that you've made her mad you stupid baby." Uassae retorted after the younger one. Ignoring the way people gave them a glance over and gave the group a wide berth. Shaking his head he gave a tug on the Hastar's lead rope, pulling it towards the boats. "Better hurry. The one to Aisko doesn't stay docked for long."

Kilian held Erionda closely, not wanting to ever let her go. The sound of the arriving boats and Erionda's flinch made it clear that they had better move. That thought was only enforced by Uassae's words. "We'd best be going. After we get settled in, I may come back to this port and buy some more supplies. A shame we didn't have more time to look." He shrugged his shoulders as he leaned down to brush a kiss across her lips, oblivious to the few looks they received. Let someone say something, he dared them.

Amadia's head jerked up at Lanzecki's words as he bounded off. "You forget I'm female as well!" She growled playfully as she took off after him, running towards the boat that would take them to Aisko. Kilian chuckled at the pair, always playful with each other they were a bright spot in their world. Amadia’s voice rang out over their bond. Letting him know that they should really hurry.

“Seems the boat is getting close to leaving.” Kilian began to move in the direction that the drakein had disappeared in. Finally, after a short wait in line, they had safely made it onto the boat. Kilian having given a few stern looks to anyone that would have said anything negative directed towards Erionda. He tugged her over to a private spot on the ferry and wrapped his arm around her shoulder and bringing her close to him.

"I have plenty of stock in the new house. Most of the stuff I picked up in Tukyere, just in case there were proble-" A soft sigh escaped her lips as Kilian moved to kiss her. Her cheeks felt like the sun had suddenly been sitting on them for hours with how hot they felt. Her mind pleaded with the gods, hoping Kilian wouldn't be forced to step away from her. She needed his contact now, now more than anything. Her very soul cried out for him.

"You're not a female! You're a girl." Lanzecki corrected slithering onto the boat from the side. He knew flying would be easier but part of him wanting to pounce on Uassae while he was unaware and catch him by surprise. The older one would be prepared for Lanzecki's attack if it came from the air, so he opted for the side.

Erionda followed with surprising silence as she was tugged forward. Her hand tightening it's grip on her Oblivionite mate. While the other made sure her cloak covered the parts that made her obviously a hybrid. Maybe people would mistake her for just a Dovaa. It was somewhat common to see deep friendships between the races that never went any further than that.

Shivering with anxiety Erionda was gently pulled away from prying eyes and back into her lovers arms. The tears spilling down her face at how grateful she was with their proximity wouldn't be enough to explain just how happy she was with him. Her body turned and shifted as she pulled Kilian in for a deeper kiss.

"You mean the world to me, Kilian." Pressing her body tightly against his as the boat lurched forward into action. Erionda was content to remain held, the contact made her feel calm, relaxed, almost carefree. The motions of the waves did little to disturb her stomach. Erionda had become used to them over time. Even the chilling cold as they approached the shores of Aisko was a welcome part of her world.

The sense of calm she held settled her stomach, her body relaxing to where she could almost fall asleep. She was sure she had even dozed against Kilian at one point during the long hours it took for the boat to reach their destination.

Startling as the boat hit the dock Erionda moved to search Kilians eyeless sockets. Was he cold at all? Pushing the long locks of pale lavender hair behind her ears Erionda opened up the cloak he had bought for her as they were leaving Eowyn. "I-I'm not sure if you're cold Kilian but... Take this for now... until we reach the house. Please? We have a long hike ahead of us through the mountains. And I don't want you freezing along the way."

With a swift motion Erionda seemed to refuse to take any possible thought of no for an answer. Flicking the fabric over her mates shoulders in a quickened pace. Stepping back to smile at him before moving to climb on Uassae who had joined them.

"I'll lead the way this time!" Lanzecki announced as he bounded off and away from the shore. Ignoring the angry glare he received from Uassae.

"Caught you again didn't he?"

Uassae snorted with disdain. "I'm the one who collect's not him!"

Erionda covered her mouth with the back of her hand in order to suppress her giggling but ultimately failed. Apologizing to her companion with the pat of her hand.

The chill air seemed to run straight through to Kilian's bones, causing a ripple of shivers to course through his body. He wasn't accustomed to the cold, even though he had been here before. He knew that it would take time for his body to grow use to the constant, frigid temperatures of Aisko. His gaze flicked to Erionda and the offered cloak. A small smile played across his lips as she didn't even wait for an answer Erionda's kiss was still a very recent memory on his lips. One that he longed to repeat once they reached their new home.

Amadia's nose wrinkled up as they stepped off the boat, not enjoying the cold weather at all. Her wings extended, shuddering at the onslaught of cold wind. Something she knew she would have to get use to. She tucked her wings in close to her once more, opting for running across the snow rather than trying to brave the cold winds after just arriving. With a shake of her head and one glance towards Kilian she took off after Lanzecki, determined to keep up with the other khehora.

The small giggle that came from Erionda made Kilian's laugh also escape from him. "Thank you for everything Rio. You mean so much to me." Kilian said as he watched her climb atop Uassae. His words echoed her same ones from earlier and with them, the added memory of the press of her body sent heat flaming through his. He moved to the hastar reserved for him and pulled himself up atop it. Looking over to Erionda he smiled. "Shall we go then?"
PostPosted: Fri Jan 17, 2014 11:57 am

Erionda gave a sharp not in Kilian's direction patting the side of her companions neck. "Is it ok to press on now? With Lanzecki at the forfront, He'll be able to stay some of the snowstorms with his magic. And with you leading further along I'm sure we will make it home. Safe." Home. The thought sent shivers of delight through her. A safe haven where she wouldn't be tormented, where she and Kilian would be free to live in peace away from the constant jeers. Not that she sustained that many with people recognizing her as a type of hero.

As Uassae pressed onward through the snow. He hated how the cold weather felt against his scaled hide but he wasn't about to complain. He would be more than happy to carry her through the mountains. Following in Lanzecki and Amadia's trail. It wasn't surprising he had to use his claws to dig into the frozen earth in order in order to pull him up the mountain. He had made this trek over a hundred times with Erionda and Lanzecki over the past several months and sometimes with things Erionda only trusted him to carry.

It was like a well worn track to him. Always knowing where to step and where not to, in-case he accidentally jostled Erionda. Who was already fragile from whatever it was that ailed her. The hike across the mountain's and back down seemed to take forever, and really, it took far too long for Uassae's patience. Hours of walking ticked by before a large building rounded into view.

Flat land as in front of them for as long as they could see. Surrounded by the mountains on one side and a shadowy sky on the other. Possibilities of a snowstorm moving into the mountain shadow. On the flat land there were two distinct buildings. Both grand in size, the one on the right while long didn't run as high as the one of the left. Both had blue paint, as if Erionda had attempted to hide the home by blending them in with the snow around them.

"Home," Erionda muttered quietly. Scanning the house and barn like shelter she had created. She was proud of her work, of her skills in restoring the house to it's original glory. Turning her head to look back at Kilian as she shifted off of Uassae's back and into the snow at her feet. What did he think of what she had accomplished, did he remember her telling him that she had rebuilt this. Made it bigger?

Lanzecki dashed around the property, trying to decide if it would be better in the house or in the barn. Inside the house all he had was a thin fur pelt to lay on. And while the warmth was comforting the pelt wasn't as comfortable as the nests Erionda had built inside the barn. "Come Amadia, let me show you the nests inside here." Prancing forward Lanzecki shifted the door to the barn open. Just enough so he could get in, with Amadia if she chose to follow.

The barn inside was dark but there was the soft glow from something up near the ceiling. A structure he never quite understood but seemed to be related to Erionda's skills with masterworking items only the Orderite's had the ability to craft. The center of the barn was open from floor to roof. Half way up the walls on each side was a raised ledge.

Spreading his wings Lanzecki took to the far ledge on the left. There lay four nests already put together for the bonded Khehora. As well as a fifth one in progress. Sniffing deep at the one beside the unfinished nest Lanzecki nuzzled into the comfortable bed. Erionda had taken her time to study all she could about the Khehora and it had paid off. She made very comfortable nests to sleep in. "See down there? She's got room for more Hastar, I think she plans to breed them one day."

Amadia took off into the barn, close behind Lanzecki. She spread her wings, just as he had done, and made her way up into the loft like place. She rumbled low in her throat at the sight of the nests, claiming one as her own and settling down. The female khehora was tired after having traveled for so long. She sent a feeling of happiness and warmth through the bond her and Kilian shared.

Kilian couldn't help but chuckle at the feeling coming from Amadia. "It seem as if our children have already made themselves at home," he said as he moved over next to Erionda. Glancing up at the house, the corners of his lips curled up into a smile. The house was large. Much larger than he had anticipated to tell the truth. Kilian wrapped his arm around Erionda's shoulders, tugging her in close to his body. "Erionda, it's gorgeous. It's...home." He turned his attention to his mate, leaning down to place a quick kiss to her lips before pulling back. "It's more than home, though. It's where I belong, with you." He leaned his forehead against her's, a seemingly permanent smile on his lips.
