As Arjan ran along quite swiftly after the Aisko Alkara, wanting to be the first to catch up with them, while Junjie and Abellio did their best to keep up with him. All the while Abellio grumbling the entire time about how Arjan really should stick to the group like a responsible Keindred. While it was something that Junjie agreed with completely he wouldn't say it out loud right at this very moment, not when he didn't want to chance losing sight of the little Kiandri. Arjan seemed to be determined, likely wanting a chance at proving himself by battling the birds himself as well as wanting to eat those same birds. The Ayr Alkara had been a delicious change of pace from the various other things that they ate while with the Dovaa Sage but it had been easier to hunt then with Rio's help... he feared that maybe he wasn't ready to face them on his own.

If they didn't do it this time around he wondered if perhaps it would be a better idea for them to try to take on something else? Perhaps something a little weaker? Train for a while to make sure that they were ready to deal with the Alkara. It might be the best idea he thought to himself even though he got some negative vibes about the idea from Arjan through their bond. It would appear as though abandoning their quest for the birds didn't sit well at all with him. Giving a soft sigh he looked to Abellio, "Come on, let's try to speed up, or else we are never going to..." His words trailed off as he felt a feeling of distress suddenly come through the bond he shared with Arjan. It was a sensation that he didn't like in the least bit as well as one that had him scrambling forward, slipping a few times in the snow in his rush to get to where his Drakein was at. Upon arrival he saw what had Arjan in such a state, the birds, it would appear that seeing Arjan all alone had spurred them on. They were dive bombing him, trying to get a hold of him so that they could carry him off Junjie thought to himself, a bit terrified at the thought.

Rushing forward he called out, "Abellio, Arjan, close your eyes!" A moment before he released a spell of bright, blinding light upon the bird, causing them all to let out some awful screeching sounds before they took to the air once more. Junjie looked up at them, watching them fly in a very unsteady pattern for a moment, before he was at Arjan's side, looking him over, concern showing on his face, "Are you alright? Did they hurt you? Let me see!" He was quick to look him over, searching for wounds that Arjan might have sustain under the Aisko Alkara's sharp talons... but for the moment he didn't see anything. It was something that had him sighing in relief before he wrapped his arms around Arjan, hugging him tight. For the first time the little one gave no protest either, he just stood there shaking from relief, actually glad to be in Junjie's arms. It wasn't something that happened often and as such Junjie would soak in such a moment... were it not for how it came about.

A sigh came from him as he watched the birds circling overhead before they were out of sight and said, "I think... maybe we should leave them be for now? They don't seem as they they are in the mood to let us win and I would rather not stir up a flock of them when we can even deal with three. Best we find a weaker opponent to sharpen our skills on before we try those tough birds again." He told his two Drakein, using a tone that he hoped would leave little room for argument. He wasn't going to leave any chance for either to protest, not when he felt that them finding a softer target was a much better idea then them repeatedly poking at a creature that just wasn't having it. He didn't want to enrage them and cause them to attack again, perhaps causing some real harm next time around.

"Come on, I think that we should pick a different direction to walk in then the one that the birds are heading in. We will find a new sort of opponent to take on and we train against that creature. More of those Aiskala dragons, perhaps? They seemed as though they were at least a bit easier to deal with then the birds are." Not to mention that they weren't constantly overhead as the Alkara had been since they had started following them. To have them overhead for so long was a touch discouraging but he felt that maybe battling the dragons once more would help to get everyone's spirits and make up for the fact that they hadn't been able to get a single Alkara today.

Giving a smile he finally pushed up to his feet, releasing his hold on Arjan, "Come on, let's get going. It's best that we keep moving so that we don't risk freezing to the ground, that wouldn't be any fun at all." He murmured, giving Arjan one last pat on the head before turning to Abellio, "Let's be of then." He was all for finding either some dragons to battle, something he felt would get them warmed up through battle, or a nice place to rest for a while that was out of the cold weather. Whichever they found first he figured.
