___________________CHARACTER PROFILE: HOST___________________ // About the Dragon, the Man, and the God // ABOUT IGNOTUSName: IgnotusIgnotus- First Name Latin meaning: unknown, obscure, ignorant, ignoble.
Ignotus was born without a name. Sold off at a young age to a Blackmarket Dealer who used to just refer to him as 'boy'. Ignotus as a youth was terribly tortured by his self-identity and gave himself the name 'Ignotus' as a symbol of the unknowns about himself. Nickname: IggyRace: Ice DragonPosition: Black Market TraderClass: MageGender: MaleSexual Preference: homosexualAge: AdultHeight: 6' 1"Body Build: He's tall, lean and willowy with a posture that stays very uprightly rigid. He tries not to show any weaknesses.Scars: His body is covered in self-inflicted scars from his formative years where he would cut himself to have some semblance of control of his life. However... this shows very much how weak he had been, currently he painstakingly wraps his outer limbs in bandages to hide these scars to make sure they are not seen from under his clothes.Skin Tone: Alabaster white in color with his lips, inner mouth, tongue and inner eye lids being ebony in color.Hair: Snowy white in color with a blueish reflect under the sun, much like that of Icebergs found in the frozen oceans. Length is down to the waist.Eyes: ▶right eye: An empty eye socket filled with the a seething darkness.
▶left eye: This eye-socket is as empty as his right, however there are times when a small dot of light flickers in and out of his left eye-socket which represents the magic and life within him.
When he was younger, he used to hate how he didn't know how he came to be and how different he was from the other Dragons and Drakes. How it seemed that whatever life flowed through and made things living seemed to be missing within him, made obvious by the emptiness of his eyes and the flickering of magic all around him at all time. It came to a point of time that he hated the flickering magic in his empty eye sockets so much that he'd almost clawed out his entire eye with rage.
The three scars running down his left eye is a reminder of his more insecure days.
▶third eye: Is still a hallow eye socket but contains a floating blue iris with a cross shaped pupil, this eye symbolizes Ignotus' ascent into the Mastery of his magic.
The third eye is the ultimate expression of when an Dragon-Mage has gained enough mastery of his/her magic to gain a sort of demi-soul that is reflected back with a pupil forming within the socket of the third eye.
Ignotus can even use the eye to spy on opponents and people he's curious about. The eyeball can pop right out of the socket, leaving behind the hallowed eye and float like a portable spy camera anywhere he wishes to send it.
Master-Form Special Features ▶Wings: Ignotus has 2 pairs of draconic wings with an outer membrane coloring of bluish-white and an inner membrane coloring of pure white. The wings are soft, warm and made of a supple skin but thick enough to not tear easily. The upper pair tend to be smaller, riding just above his shoulders. The lower pair tend to be much bigger, spanning twice his height width-wise.
However, when Ignotus flies, the wings increase magically in size until they have an impressive wings span that can be a good 30 feet or more. They are then fully capable of carrying his weight and maybe a small child along with him during flight.
Being a Master Mage, Ignotus can bolster his flight capabilities with his magic. Either in lightening his weight, so the wings don't have to work so hard, or in using his magic to support his wings.
▶Tail: There are 2 long-ish blue-tipped blunted spikes at the base of the tail and 3 more at just below the tail tip. The tail is completely prehensile and sometimes its movement reflects Ignotus' current moods.
Clothes: After being so out of control of his life when he was younger. Ignotus now feels an urge to be rigidly in control of everything in his life. This is mostly reflected on how his clothes are usually very pristine and white, immaculately folded and flowing elegantly.
Ignotus often gets into short bursts of anger when his clothes are dirtied or besmirched and would be harsher when dealing with anyone who dirties him. Weapon: An magical scepter which turned into a rather large ebony staff that seemed to gain more of a consciousness as Ignotus mastered his arts, much like an enchanted weapon.
He named his staff "Improvidus" or reckless. The circular glass orb on the top from it's scepter days slowly turned into a semi-sentient "eye" that tended to serve as Ignotus' magical eye whenever he took out his staff. Connected as he is to his weapon, Improvidus lends his a 3rd sight which allows him to look through almost any illusion and concealment spell. Other times though, the staff tends to loose focus and turns its gaze to things it really shouldn't be watching -- men's bathing areas for example.Personality:
||VANITY + PRIDE neutral | Ignotus is extremely vain and proud of his appearance. He shows this off by dressing impeccably and his hair combed to within an inch of it's life. Although he doesn't actively seek beautifying products or regimens, he prefers to maintain what he already has at it's optimum.
||MINIMALIST neutral | The Mage also tends to prefer white as a general color theme as he often associates it with cleanliness and refinement. He often frowns on ostentatious displays and prefers the sleek and minimal. This is where "less" is considered as "more".
|| AVARICE+ GREED: || Although he is a minimalist, he is still very much a dragon. He has greed built into the very foundations of his being and much like his brethren, keeps a rather large collection of treasures. But unlike the others of his kind, he prefers to collect magical artifacts rather than the usual gold, gems and shiny trinkets of wealth. He picks and chooses what he loves and hides it in a secret vault he's built at a secret location no one but he, himself, knows.
He arranges his loot in an almost obsessive neatness that could rival any museum. Orderly in rows of shelving and cabinetry. Only those he deems the most trustworthy can hope to see his treasure horde.
||FRAGILE + PARANOIA neutral | The Ice Dragon can also be very sensitive and leery about others talking about him. Often Ignotus will internalize imaginary insults he believes others are making up about him. This is probably due to being a loner and an outcast as he was growing up as well as the rough treatment of his former master/owner.
||FRANK + HONEST neutral | Ignotus often says exactly what's on his mind and several times tend to blurt out the thoughts in his head before his brain to mouth filter engages. This can often lead to a lot of misunderstandings and hurt feelings but pretty much, Ignotus is a "what you see, is what you get"-sort of person. He doesn't believe in dissembling and being passive aggressive. He'd rather you say it in his face or say nothing at all.

___________________HISTORY & BACKGROUND___________________ // there are times you look back and totally forget the possibility of moving forward // Ignotus was born without a name. Sold off at a young age to a Black market Dealer who used to just refer to him as 'boy'. He was treated more like a possession and a slave than a living being with rights. Often covered in bruises and scratches from the hard manual labor he endured growing up under the fearsome watch of the Black market dealers, it wasn't only until later he knew that his own mother has sold him to the dealers with nary a look back. Not even to grant him a name to call himself.
Ignotus as a youth was terribly tortured by his self-identity and gave himself the name 'Ignotus' as a symbol of the unknowns about himself and to prove to his mother, that even if she hadn't given him a name, he would make himself a name to be proud of.
Slowly as he grew into a teen, he soon grew to hate how it seems he was quite different from the other Dragons and Drakes around him. How it seemed that whatever life flowed through and made things living seemed to be missing within him, made obvious by the emptiness of his eyes and the flickering of magic all around him at all time. No one could quite rationalize how he came to be this way, and his mother had given no clue.
Ignotus often wonder if there were other Dragons like him, who seemed to be made more of magic than of the ice that were supposedly the element he embodied.
It came to a point of time that he hated the flickering magic in his empty eye sockets so much that he'd almost clawed out an entire eye with rage. The three scars running down his left eye is a reminder of his more insecure days.
His body is also covered in self-inflicted scars from his formative years where he would cut himself to have some semblance of control of his life. However, as he reached adulthood, he realized how the scars would show very much how weak he had been, and currently resolved to painstakingly wraps his outer limbs in bandages to hide these scars to make sure they are not seen from under his clothes.
Ignotus was eventually able to free himself from his slavery in an act of reckless deceit and abandon at the height of his teenage years. Conspiring with an equally ragged group of slaves and abused workers, after years of planning and subterfuge they were eventually able to kill all their Black market Slave Masters. It would be a day forever remembered in the historical annals of the Black market guild, as one of the biggest massacre and escape of slave workers in a hundred years.
Traveling far and wide, the young dragon soon sought a way to make a life for himself. Knowing nothing but the work he had been doing for as long as he's lived, he soon returned to doing shady deals and blackmarket wares of drugs, and forbidden goods. However, it was during one of these long trips that he stumbled on his future mentor, a mysterious and eccentric mage who discovered the hidden potential in the magic that always seemed to surround Ignotus. It was only then, under the tutelage of Mentor that he learned to master the magic that made him so different and it was only after countless grueling years of apprenticeship under the eccentric mage that Ignotus gained his mastery in the art.
Growing more sure of himself as he grew into adulthood, Ignotus soon found himself going yet again into his past and how different he was from others he had seen of his kind. Vowing to trace down the origin of his birth, he traveled far and wide in search for answers. Now and again, stopping to collect treasures and trinkets of great magic to add to his dragon's horde.

___________________THE CONCEPT OF DIVINITY___________________ // and there was nothing to hold him, nothing to ground him in the sheer whiteness of everything // || opalite ||STAGNATION noun stag·na·tion [stag-ney-shuhn] 1. a failure to develop, progress, or advance 2. the state or quality of being or feeling sluggish and dull 3. a foulness or staleness, as one emanating from a standing pool of water. 4. the state or condition of stagnating, or having stopped, as by ceasing to run or flow
Origin: stagn(ate) + -ation Potential Name: Staidlith (Gaelic "staid" for stagnant, and "lith" for still waters)Domain: STAGNATIONGender: MalePhysical Age: Staidlith is usually seen at that cusp of when youth meets adulthood. The eternal age everyone seeks to be forever.Clothing Style: can go through all eras and epochs when it comes to style, but always favors neat and minimalist dapper clothing in whites, blues or silvers. Domain Concept: Stagnation is often touted as a negative concept of unchanging. However, no matter how we try, we often meet this concept sometime in our lives. Some of us may revile it and opt for change while others look at stagnation and embrace it's concept.
A negative look on stagnation often meets people as they are stuck in a "rut", where their sense of self can neither go back to what once was, nor can they change for either the better or the worse. This is often represented by the mundane and dreary trudge of endless work days and routine with people often seeking to change the stagnation that have crept into their lives.
However there are those who cherish the past and seek to preserve it for eternity, as well as those who cherish the pinnacle they have reached within themselves and learn to both love and embrace themselves as they are forevermore.
Two concepts that fall into stagnation which people often interrelate are immortality; for what else is immortality but stagnation of life. Unchanging until the very end of time. Domain Symbols: The symbol of stagnation is often linked to still waters which often leads followers to the worship of extremely calm bodies of water wherein the surface is so preserved they act as mirror reflections of the sky. This can also be held true for large bodies of water frozen into a clear glass-like quality during the deepest and coldest of winter.
The followers of the God of Stagnation often wear white as a symbol of their eternal unchanging: a symbol often represented in a ritual of getting their robes dirty through daily life and work, only to be washed off using bleach and returned back to the original pure white. Possible Abilities: ▶ Preserve: the ability to hold something's essence or qualities suspended in time forever more. This allows the God to keep all those associated with him and around him in the same state of permanence for as long as he deems fit. The items/locales under this enchantment could still be interacted with by time and people but would never change/warp/damage/age. (e.g. it's possible that an item would forever hold its form despite time, damage or any force applied to it as if it was just created, could even be applied to places: e.g. Pompei)
▶ Stasis Lock: basically become a living statue. The item/being/locale gets locked in time and freezes like a statue. Unlike the other abilities which allows life and time to interact with those enchanted, Stasis Lock basically just freezes a moment in time. Time, Physicality, Magic has no effect on the item/being in Statis Lock.( i.e. like a bug stuck in amber)
▶ On Hold: the ability to lock a living being's pathway on life on a certain roadblock forever unchanging. (e.g. a particular person plans to write a book which has the possibility of changing his/her life forever, maybe even the world with the ideas in the book, the ability ON HOLD would keep that certain person unable to decide to write the book or not write the book for as long as the enchantment holds)
▶ Eternity's Kiss: the ability to give something resembling immortality to a living being. However unlike real immortality this would basically hold that living being's physical form into a certain point of time in life. Which means nothing new ever grows and nothing ever dies. Hair would stay the same (think Harry Potter's Hair which returns to the same form no matter how many times it gets cut), women never get periods (life cycle doesn't go on), and nothing ever changes...The person wouldn't even need to pee nor even eat. It's somewhat almost like being undead without being dead. If attacked, the enchantment merely resets the body back to that origin point the spell was cast. No healing wounds or regrowing limbs, but just instant reset to the same origin point.
Meeting the Host: || still in heavy WIP ||
The jewel that holds Staid's essence, a plain white Opalith that glows blue in certain lights, probably fell into Ignotus hands during one of the many travels the Dragon often takes in search of treasures to add to his hoard. Something as powerful as a Gemstone holding a Deity would no doubt have been nigh irresistible to the mage.
Personality Manifestation: ||UNCARING neutral | Staid is often thought of uncaring as he lives most of his existence as someone who hardly shows any care or emotion towards others. He can often be seen a aloof or a snob by others when in fact, he just doesn't give even a smidgeon of care about whatever is happening or whoever is shagging whom. He watches, he waits and he sees but rarely does he ever act unless is changes something which he has preserved for eternity.
||STEADFAST + CERTAIN neutral | He is very much like a brick wall once he's decided something. No matter how often someone or even something tries to persuade him to change his mind, it will probably take an act of Harmonious himself before he'll even think about changing his mind. Staid is quite happy with things as is, and anything changing for the better or worse often upsets him (not that he shows it upsets him).
||LOYAL TO A FAULT neutral | Because of his steadfastness, Staid is by connection extremely loyal to those he considers his friends as well as his enemies. Meaning: once an enemy always an enemy and once a friend, always a friend.
||FRANK + HONEST neutral | This is one character trait he shares with his host Ignotus. When Staid seeks to speak his mind, he will make certain that whatever he might be thinking is what comes out of his mouth. He doesn't rethink, nor does he over-embellish his thoughts or words. So if ever anyone who speaks to him gets hurt, or outraged at his actions or words, Staid doesn't care. He has said his piece and that's that. Faded History: This pains Staid greatly as stagnation is the pinnacle of his being a Diety and what he cannot remember, he cannot preserve. He is often wanting to know of the glory of his past, and to the grandeur he dimly remembers preserving for eternity however as time moved on from the fading, he has slowly accepted his changed status and sought to reclaim a state he can forever treasure and keep unchanging forever more.

___________________THE QUEST___________________ // and you look at the details and the minutiae and life and ask: "is this all I am?" // ✙ deitie's influence: STAGNATION Probably a good merge of both god and host rather than the god taking over Ignotus totally. ✙ colour scheme:White-Blue (like Icebergs) as major color theme with minor colors of black/gray/electric-blue as you deem fit. But mostly it's a clean white. This includes even hair and skin. ✙ clothing style: minimalist, well-tailored clothes, usually favoring all white in color (accents can be in blue or silver with black), can be any epoch in theme, although he prefers neat gentlemanly clothes. He wouldn't say no to Elvish style outfits with long flowing robes, but he isn't much for jewelry aside from simple hoop earrings or a single hair-clasp with no embellishments. ✙ gender: male ✙ wing type: dragon-like reptilian scaled or smooth leathery wings akin to a bat (minor detailing up to artist) - also feel free to make as many pairs as you want. I've had Ignotus with 1 pair, 2 pairs and even 3 pairs of wings at any point in time. ✙ tail type: depends on the wing type: if scaled wings - dragon-like tail, if bat wings - devil-like tail ✙ hair type: neat and tidy (length up to the artist), wouldn't mind having facial hair but no full beards. Neat and trimmed mustache or goatee (not both). ✙ two basic lineart edits: (up to the artist) ✙ rp status: rp active (albeit casual) ✙ jewel template: #3 ✙ morph template: #1 (with the possibility of the gem becoming his 3rd eye) ✙ youth template: #2 (or as artist deems fit) ✙ OFFER: currently 3m
