Bio: She's the daughter of an "old money" (that is, wealthy through inheritance and land as opposed to business) family. She was the youngest and one of the only females. Like much of her family, she was very ambitious and driven. However, because she was younger, and because she was female, and because there was nothing properly expected of her, her family didn't want her to partake in anything beyond being a debutante. When she did make efforts, like achieving schooling, or learning about Pokemon, her efforts were hardly acknowledge, or seen as inferior, despite being as good or as better as some of her peers. In fact, her family made efforts to keep her from doing anything that wasn't strictly socialite related, and when she proved she was going to keep fighting for something to do, they would eventually just lock her in her room for days on end with no contact but servants. (And Thorn, but Thorn wasn't supposed to.)
So frustrated and desperate for some kind of escape and something to do with her life, she comes up with the idea to run away. The question is, where? Her family is rich and powerful; any friends she'd have made over the years would defer to her parents without question, and those who didn't would risk incurring social suicide and literal threats. It is at this point that Thorn, her loyal bodyguard and closest friend, suggests running away and joining an up-and-coming crime syndicate. He could probably get word to Team Aqua and get them accepted. This is a brilliant idea, of course! Not only would she be away from her parents in a place they'd never look, but organizations like Aqua have freedom and mobility that she's never experienced! So out goes the call, in comes the reply, and away they run. (Thorn comes with, of course, because he's never leave her side-- not that she'd want him to, obviously. Besides, a little crime will do her straight-laced best friend good.)
Personality-wise: Rosie is has something of a dual persona. Outwardly, she's very cheerful and enthusiastic, and that's not all a lie. She is passionate, and she is driven and loves to fight for respect and other things. Unlike her family, she wants to earn her place in the world.
But she's also very hard on herself, to the point where even the slightest failure can hurt her psyche. She's confident in her abilities, but she can be her own worst enemy. She can be prone to depression, which she tends to mask with a very believable smiling mask. Rosie has come to believe showing that kind of emotion is a weakness, and is therefore good at hiding it. Oh, and she's very protective and attached to Thorn. Closest confidant and best friend; she sometimes feels bad that he's the always the one who protects her, so she's resolved to become strong enough to protect him. Besides, she's going to make him have more agency and stop believing he's a tool for other people
