He was kind-hearted but so serene that it had been hard to be 'friendly' even with a good heart. Life was like it always had been.
It had turned dark, and most parents would be back soon... His mother wanted to sing with him for some children and he, only opted to because the rest of his siblings were out doing their own thing. Israfel, gathered the children excitedly. A group of them was their audience, and misc adult passerbyers.
They sang a sweet lullaby. To get them to sleep...
"The sky is dark and the hills are white
As the Storm-King speeds from the North tonight
And this is the song that the Storm-King sings
As over the world his cloak he flings -
“Sleep, sleep, little one, sleep”
He rustles his wings and gruffly sings,
Sleep, sleep, little one, sleep"
His deep voice, and her soft gentle voice synced, and had engulfed in harmony and tenderness to the ears.
It drew out, until each and every cub fell asleep. Delighted, but quietly did the parents start to pick up their cubs. Now, the wonderful night was theirs. "I will be at the cove if you need me mother." He bowed his head, full of respect. "Kei, please be careful.. and stay out late! You need some time to yourself." His mother responded with a joyful smile, a young mother- a 'cool' mom but even she knew she couldn't keep her 'cubs' at home forever. Kei had been the only one STUCK at home. He wanted to help, she understood but she couldn't help but think she had been holding him back...
He walked along, turned his head just slightly and replied. "Will do." Looking more mature for his age than the rest. His smile was soft, but standoff at the same time. It was Kei. He isn't suppose to look happy. Then started to walk off in to the night.. Observing and taking in the sights. The ocean breeze, the sound of crashing tides... Music to his ears. What true music was.. The large dark lion walked along the beach, absorbed in the music of nature. While his siblings were now retiring, he was up and about and it was rare to catch any one of them not occupied by a fan club. Tonight just so happened to be one of those nights.. and how delightful it was.
