1. varrus
concept: leander has Always Been a hedgewitch. he's exceptionally good with animals, especially horses, and...and he has the ability to anti-heal. That is, speed diseases up. obv it only works on people who already have a disease and he needs to touch them or something idk but it is OTHERWISE an unconscious ability
he knows he's ~magic~ or w/e because he can sometimes understand horses (if he's close to them...not physically close but like ~*~we r bffs~*~ close); he blames himself 4 siblings' deaths (see: lucterius' history) b/c of this (it also is kind of his fault sad but he doesn't know that - he actually blames himself because he thinks ugh i am a hedgewitch i should be able to heal!! sad ) he becomes a guardsman or w/e in the queen's guard
he meets a bunny w glowing eyes in the wood. he's like hey bunny!! bunny gets attached to him bc he cares for it & they ~bond~
suddenly people around leander seem to have better health! he is Happy!
[spoilers the bunny was a fairy wren and no one got healthier; they just looked the part thru illusion/ bc varrus wanted to make leander happy]
issues: would this work? can familiars do magic independent of hedgewitch or do they just enhance magic? could it work if varrus somehow enhanced leander's inherent (unconscious) illusion abilities or something? would leander also having inherent illusion abilities create issues because 2 OP? so many questions
issues 2: also this is a quest for a fairy wren not a bunny
issues 3: i'm ok with him realizing it's a fairy wren pretty quickly (leander isn't that dumb so if illusions can't be that powerful...yeah he's not dumb) if it's necessary to prevent canon-breaking.
issues 4: i actually don't mind having a familiar that's not a fairy wren (as long as the illusiony plot can still hold - an actual bunny would be pretty funny) since i'm aware fairy wrens are supposed to be rare but 1) lol macho man with baby bird (which still applies to bunny!) and 2) his brother has a rook companion and his ~*~*~favorite niece~*~*~ has a kingshawk companion sooooooo BIRD TRIFECTA ye

2. dictys
- purple eyes (kind of deep wine-y purple tho) - doe lines but with tiny antler edits - little baby ones are fine (maybe just one prong? i'd prefer this! or two prongs at most; ey's not supposed to have a giant rack); the idea is that ey's neuter gender QvQ..they should be very clean and very simple! - dark with minimal bright accents - ~PURPLE AND GOLD~ are colors i traditionally associate with the character but i prefer my wardwoods very natural-colored so ye...maybe a desaturated purply-black base with tiny gold accents somehow? throws hands into air - antler markings of some sort? emotion_kirakira - uh please keep the markings on the natural-esque side; they can have weird patterns but should be shaped like natural markings (no intricate scrollwork, yes to a vaguely swirly dapple pattern or something, also yes to just completely natural looking markings!). simple is perfectly fine! I LIKE SIMPLE THINGS - filigree premade edits! i prefer the little cuffs to the giant necklace though - plz give me the totem that honey has (nose in the air, haughty-looking) - fluff??????? not required or central to character concept i just like fluff hah BUT ACTUALLY this whole bullet point is basically pointless curls into hole THE POINT IS DON'T ACTUALLY GIVE ME FLUFF THIS IS A JOKE
act one...an imperious, mysterious stranger lures the addison steward's kid into wardwood act two...a dark totem leaps from the ward-tree act three...??? act four...profit!
[eir chosen is just a child, a teenager whose parents are too busy looking over someone else's property, but ey will nurture them and raise them into what ey thinks is a great leader.] [dictys is cheeky and spoiled but thinks the most important part of the war effort is the general leading the charge: dictys emself]
