Tips on moving an older cat who has never moved before?

My Baby Kitty is almost 15 years old, and she's never lived in another home, has never been outside, and has never met other people. So she's very shy and is used to hiding in the closet when she hears any loud noises.
I'm terrified to move her and wanted to know any types of tips you guys have? Like should I cover the door to her cage while we're driving to the new house or let her look? She's everything to me and I don't want to stress her out too bad. sweatdrop

Lots of articles on this site, in this case you'll want to check out the stuff under "Home" (in Home Sweet Home there's a couple about initially bringing home a cat, which may kind of help, and under travel there's moving to a new home, travel safety, etc..)

The basics of moving is:
-pack up kitty's stuff last, unpack it first
-contain kitty to a safe place (room, crate, whatever) during the moving process and make sure everybody involved knows where the cat is and to not open that door. Being out of sorts, they're a lot more likely to bolt
-create a safe room for kitty in the new place
-be aware of places kitty can hide and get stuck in the new place
-maybe look into calming products like Feliway, as well.
