Name: Anette Mendela Gender: Female Age: 11 (Publicly known as 12) Physical Description: A young girl who is a bundle of energy. Anette is very rarely quiet, always fussing over something, or excitedly blubbering. She still carries a bit of her baby fat in her cheeks, though is quickly becoming a young lady, with hints that she'll be dazzlingly beautiful when she grows. She bears a great family resemblance to her family, with her dark hair and green eyes, though her skin is just the slightest bit darker from her days playing in the sun, face kissed with freckles.
Personality: Anette is a sweet young child, at the brink of her transformation into a beautiful young lady. She's extremely excitable, often to the point of squealing, and tends to talk with an energy unlike any other. She doesn't seem to care much for glum, or people fighting, and as such, often obeys the orders of her family without complaint. There's nothing more in the world that she'd love more than to see everyone happy and getting along, though understands this may be impossible all and all.
History: The Mendela family is a small group of nobles, now reduced to a small lineage. Victor, the last head of household, passed away years ago, leaving his widow, Piaotte, and their three children behind. The new head, Atticus, is the middle child of the family, and has taken over his father's legacy. The eldest is Catherine, by only a year, and the youngest is dear sweet Anette, with 15 years between her and her sister.
Anette has never known her father, being conceived shortly before her father's death, and born much after. Nevertheless, she's turned out to be a happy, healthy child, regardless of the age difference between her and her siblings. Catherine dotes on her the most, having the most free time to do so, though it seems as if Atticus only tolerates Anette's existence since she stays out of his way. She's often allowed to travel out of the estate to play in the sun, or allowed to take trips to the city, though there's nothing she loves more than reading in the library with her elder sister whilst listening to the radio.
Truth be told, the family also has a bit of a scandal. Anette is not the youngest of Pia's children, and is actually Catherine's daughter. While her true parentage is kept under wraps, the family is quite aware that there was a little accident when Catherine was only 16. While the timing isn't quite right with Victor's death, many people don't even question when they're told Anette is a year older than she actually is. Anette is more than aware she has to be careful with how she talks about her family, since in private quarters she's actually allowed to be a daughter to her mother, but public appearances and outings require much more coaching and preparation. She certainly bears the family resemblance, but many have commented on her similarity to Catherine, leaving for quick changes of conversation or distractions.
Anette has asked a handful of times about who her father is, but Catherine always refuses to answer, and over time, she's just accepted she'll never know. She's also more than aware of her mother's occupation, and dreads the nights she leaves, wondering if she'll ever see her mother alive again. The thought of losing her only known parent terrifies her, but with her mother's summoning of Renthi, she's at least comforted knowing she'll have some extra protection.
