Billy wasn't sure how much longer he could stay conscious when finally Ladon's mother arrived. Both Billy and Ladon were soaked and chilled to the bone, but Ladon more so. Of course and explanation was in order as soon as they got in the vehicle. Billy didn't deviate too far from the truth. "Th-the senshi t-terrorisssts," he stammerred, shivvering, "Had to jump in the riiiivver to escape." That was as much as he could do right now, with the headache from teleporting three times in such a short time - twice in rapid succession! "Ladon.." Billy wasn't sure whether to tell her to drive them to the hospital or what. He was...trusting her to make a decision. He could only do so much right now. He was concerned...and couldn't exactly thing that well with all this going on.

Ms. Shepard did not expect a phone call this late at night, but once he heard Billy's voice and heard something about her son, she went straight to asking where they were. The pier. At night. No good could come out of that, and she had to wonder in her clear disregard for traffic laws through town what they were even doing down there in the first place.
By the time she found them, she saw them pale and laying on the ground, soaked through and shivering. Ladon wasn't awake, but upon touching his neck, she could tell he was alive. Tears welled up in her eyes, but she didn't waste any time to help them up and bring them to her car. Once inside, she made a sharp turn, cut through a narrow alleyway, and was back on the highway heading to the ER.
"Senshi." She said. "Those bastards took his eye and now they do this." She sobbed, gripping the steering wheel as she prayed to the Lord and hoped they would make it. With the heater at full blast and using the emergency foil blankets from her trunk to give them, she looked to the rear view mirror as Billy shivered. "Keep talking. Keep focused, honey. Get those wet clothes off. What little you can. Take your shoes and socks off and your shirt. Can you get Ladon's off too? See if you can....get him to talk?" Worry was thickly laced through her words as she made another sharp turn.

Billy would have rather just curled up int a nice tight ball, rather than move around removing clothing. His muscles ached from the shivering and other physical exertions. The shivering and aching made him want to puke - and that was to say nothing of the driving...Honestly it was too much movement for him to do much more than kick his shoes off and drag Ladon as close as he could. If Billy was saying anything now, it was mostly unintelligible mumbles. And to think, Ladon really had it worse - Ladon had been in the water longer than the split moment that Billy had been. Billy was largely exhausted from the toll of teleportation, which made everything else seem that much worse to him. If not for that, he could have probably dealt better with simply being cold and wet... He honestly didn't have the mental capacity at that moment to fathom how worse of Ladon must have been.
Added to that, Billy didn't know if Ladon had suffered any injuries during the battle before he'd gotten there...
Worry, exhaustion, he wanted to sleep...

She heard the mumbling, but as she looked back, she saw they were close but far too worn. It was a miracle that Billy had been able to call, and she was glad he called her - even if 911 would have been better.
Pulling into the ER, she raced in to call for help, and it wasn't long till a pair of parametics went to the car to take over. They were admitted to the hospital wind and stripped, warmed, and placed in a warm, dry bed each to be monitored. Ms. Shepard gave what little information she could about Billy to the office, only remembering his name and seeing if she could call up the landlord to find out anything more. She wasn't his legal guardian, but she was pretty sure he was old enough to not need one. It was more so that his own family would know and be able to be by his side as much as she was here for Ladon.
She called off work, leaving a message for the faculty staff at Crystal, and once she was assured he would be fine, she got a hotel room very close by and left her information. She didn't sleep much that night.
-
In the morning, Ladon was conscious. He had been given hot liquids, if not forced, to help him warm, and the staff had worked in the first few hours to make sure he wouldn't fall back. He was weak, but they chalked it up to him swimming n a river other than other supernatural activities.
Weak and tired, he was still relieved to find himself in a bed, but alarmed at being in a hospital. It was too official. It was his mother, however, that made the gravity hit him in the stomach, and he wished he was unconscious. Luckily, Billy had given some excuse, and despite wanting to murder Billy for calling his mother, the moment he was mentioned as being the one to get him, his mind was cemented on where Billy was and how he was doing.
The conversation had stayed there until his mother assured him he was in another room next door. If he had the energy to stand up then, he would have to check on his boyfriend. Instead, his mother talked to him a bit more, and then left to get some coffee and something to eat.

Once Billy was feeling at least half decent again, he wasn't exactly the most compliant patient. Especially when getting a lecture about his previous hospital visit. Sooo he left before he could be properly discharged... So what? So he'd skimped out on the bill an' stuff.... So wh..okay yeah. Now the doctors didn't exactly want him up and moving around, but they couldn't exactly do much when Billy ripped out IVs and fluids, got dressed, and walked on over to Ladon's room. They tried, but weren't very successful. His clothes were at least now dry, if not a bit stiff from lack of proper drying. He still looked rough though, sauntering in in dark blue jeans a washed-put shirt, and thrift-shop jacket. His hair was an unkept mess, and his face looked tired, and a little pale. "Hey," he said, arriving a little after Ladon's mum had left. He crawled in to bed beside Ladon.

When the door open, he was about to tell his mother that he really was fine, and she could take a break, before he saw Billy. His hair was a mess from it's usually well-kept style, and his clothes were rough and no doubt the ones he wore before. He'd have to ask his mother that, when she brought him a change of clothes, if she could do the same for him.
He also looked pale, and it twisted his guts to know that he could have lost Billy from his own stupid mistakes.
When Billy crawled him, he shifted, mindful of the IVs, before turning to hold him close. "Hey." He whispered, not wanting the nurses to come in and break them up. Despite all the ways they had made his room warm, even adding a device that warmed the air around him for the first few hours when he was admitted, Billy was the only person who really heat his core. He felt better now, having him here.
But not guilt free.
"I'm so sorry." He whispered. "I had him and I feel for such a stupid trap. I keep doing that. I'm like some dumb idiot and I get full of myself or sometimes and don't pay attention. He was bleeding so much - I didn't think he'd jump that on me. I.." He had no excuses. He was stupid and his mistake nearly cost both their lives. "If it wasn't for you being there then...You could have froze to death out there..." He didn't want to think about loosing Billy, and yet here he was. He had risked his life once again to save him. Magically, he had been there in the nick of time once again.
And for that, he knew what Paris was talking about. About knowing for sure. He never wanted to give that up.
"Are you okay?" He asked, brushing his messy hair from his brow and looking into his rich, petal pink eyes.

"That's the risk we take, doing what we do," Billy replied, curling up as much as the bed would allow. "I'm hungry. I wanna curl up with a dryer-fresh blanket and feast on cheeseburgers and fries. I dun even know why burger and fries. Something salty.... Noting sweet. The food here sucks." It was all low-sodium, tasteless, and freaken liquid. And ******** that pudding, that was some nasty s**t. "No more winter swims, unless its a hot tub or the indoor pool at the rec. ...I want a hot tub." Doped up on good meds + Billy = random chain of thoughts expelling from his mouth. Honestly he wasn't sure if he was just thinking something or actually saying it.

"I'm going to have to do a lot of talking to keep my mother from forcing me back to living with her." He said, continuing to stroke Billy's hair and let their legs intertwine as he was brought closer, moving the blankets around them. It was nice to have company, but the bed was uncomfortable and too small for 2 people.
"When we get home, I'll get us some nice burgers from that delivery burger place. We can stay home and get fat together." He wasn't going to go anywhere for a while, as he felt too weak, tired, and mentally shaken. It was time he took a vacation - even for a short time.
"They keep giving me sugary hot drinks to keep my strength up and energy. It's making me feel sick. I could go for a burger too." He said, and wondered if he could be a brat and ask his mother for some. Speaking of -
"I can't believe you called my mom." He kissed him despite his tone. "She's already worried about me ever since I lost my eye. She's going to constantly call me now after this."
He stopped petting Billy and brought him closer. "You're warm."

"I knew it would be faster than an ambulance because thy gotta obey traffic laws - a good worried mama don't. It's like, what is traffic laws? ******** youuuuuu red light whoom~!" He slurred, burying his face in to Ladon's shoulder. There was...SOME logic there at least.
his head raised again when Ladon said he was warm, "Warm? I'ma furnace, baby~'
Drugs. He got some good 'uns. And a slight fever.

It became very clear now that Billy was on drugs, and Ladon could only chuckle as he smiled at Billy's uncharacteristic enthusiasm. It was just pure thought straight to his mouth it seemed.
"Wow. You got on better drugs than I did." They had worried that, with his heart rate so weak, that the drugs would have been too much for him. They did however start giving him a little bit for the bruising in his neck and a dislocated shoulder.
"Yeah, you're my furnace. I could stay under the covers with you year round." And then he got an idea. Billy was just saying the first thing that came to him. He was honest this way, and probably less restrained.
"...and forever. Would you...like that? You and me - forever?"

"Duuuude, like, you really think I'd risk my life fer anyone that I could live without? Liek....your the cheese to my cheeseburger - without you it's not a cheeseburger, and I really want a cheeseburger.. And drugs are bad you shouldn't have 'em."
He was really stuck on them cheeseburgers...
"But we probably shouldn't stay under covers all year 'round because eventually we gotta shower and use the bathroom and eat and I dun even know fer right now it's okay. But like yeah you're my cheese."
Seriously, Paris would get a kick out of drugged-up Billy. But Billy's dignity couldn't take that. Like...if he was fully aware of his terrible metaphor just then he would have smacked himself. Good thing he probably wouldn't remember much of this.

He laughed again, though cringed a bit at a raw-feeling throat. It was hilarious to hear Billy not being as smooth as he almost always was, and Ladon felt he was at the same level of tactless with him. However, the message was still clear, and he hugged him tightly, planting a very firm kiss on his lips. "You're my cheeseburger too. My one and only cheeseburger forever." And was without a single doubt in his heart.
"If you are hungry, I can call my mom to pick us up something better? I'll just.." And then he remembered something. "Oh no. Our phones." Seemed they were getting new phones for Christmas. The river probably ruined theirs.

"You think the docs would let us eat real food?" He asked with child-like wonder.
"Good thing they were just cheap-crapo-phones." No big loss really. At least Billy's hadn't been too damaged to make a call. Ladon's was probably a goner though. "Pretty sure mine still works though. I mean I did call your mom on it."

"Hey, can tell my mom to sneak it in her purse. By the time they find out, they would be already gone. I'm getting a bit hungry for something more solid. It's not like my stomach was hurt." He just felt tired, exhausted, and they said his temperature was getting a bit high and wanted to make sure it didn't turn into something severe.
"I'm glad it worked. If you want to hand it to me, I can text her and ask. She went to get something to eat and I think some clothes for me. She could bring some for you too." Though it would have to be something a bit bigger for Billy.

Billy fished around in his jacket pocket before coming out with the dinky little cheap-a** phone, "Just don't puke on me if your stomach decides otherwise."
Billy was pretty sure he has puked on one of the interns that brought them in to the hospital, but the memory wasn't too clear. But now he was pretty sure he could hold down a good meal. He hungered for something salty, reguardless.
"These clothes are fine for now. A bit stiff, but dry."
