She is always reluctant to speak her mind or to do something that might antagonize another character, causing her difficulties whenever she is on a mission. This results in her effective expulsion from the Hyuga clan even though she is the eldest daughter of the clan's leader and thus its heiress. Hinata's inability to stand up for herself caused her father to disown her at a young age, leaving her in the care of her teacher, Kurenai Yuhi.

Also known as "Black Cat" or "Kuro Neko" (Black Cat in Japanese), Train is the protagonist and a sweeper partnered with Sven Volfied in the series Black Cat. Train is a lighthearted, courageous man who is highly skilled with a gun. In the manga's "present time," he is 23 years old. In the anime, his age is never stated, though he appears to be slightly younger than his manga counterpart. Train's distinguishing features are a choker with a tiny bell attached to it and the XIII tattoo he has on the left side of his chest. He has a large amount of killing intent that he honed from his days as a Chronos member. As a result, he often has sudden mood swings, going from carefree to serious in an instant

In the beginning of the series, he accidentally eats the Paramecia-type Gum-Gum Fruit, causing his body to gain the properties of highly stretchable rubber. After his life is saved by Shanks when he is seven years old, Luffy decides to achieve the tantamount goals of finding the series' titular treasure and succeeding Gold Roger as King of the Pirates. Ten years later, wearing Shanks' straw hat, he sets out to sea to gather a crew and sail the Grand Line, where the One Piece is supposedly hidden.

The main protagonist and current owner of the Killing Good, "Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge" (The Severing Crime Edge), a pair of scissors that can cut through human flesh which belonged to his ancestor, an infamous serial killer known as Norma Grayland, in the 1860s, who fled from Europe to Japan and claimed to have killed 200 people with them. After Kiri meets Iwai by accident, he becomes fascinated with her beautiful hair, becoming friends with her after realizing that her hair can only be cut by his scissors. Upon learning that Iwai is targeted by other Killing Good users, also known as "Authors", he vows to protect her, making use of the enhanced reflexes he gains when fighting with his Killing Good.

Kazuto, who uses the portmanteau "Kirito" as his character name, is a "solo" player who has been branded a "beater" (a combination of beta tester and cheater) by the players in Sword Art Online. When Kayaba announces that the players of Sword Art Online can no longer log-out without clearing the game, he quickly overcomes the shock. He power-levels to improve his odds of survival in the game, and emerges as a frontline floor-clearer known as the Black Swordsman.

The main protagonist of Hyōka, he is a rational boy who lives by "If I don't have to do something, I won't, but if I have to, I'll do it quickly." He only joins the Classic Literature Club at the request of his older sister, Tomoe Oreki, to stop it from being dissolved. He says that he doesn't like to waste energy, but if given a mystery to consider, he will see it through until it is solved with his brilliantly logical deductions.

Bickslow is a 22-year-old wizard, in the series Fairy Tail, who specializes in using a form of Seith magic called Human Possession to implant souls within inanimate objects and control them as he pleases. He can only control up to five puppets at a time; he refers to them as his "babies", with the names Pappa, Pippi, Puppu, Peppe, and Poppo. His eye magic is called Figure Eyes, which allows him to control the souls of anyone who meets his gaze; he wears a grilled visor to contain this magic.
