WHO: Brad (Chrystali) & Zeke (Ravina Loki) WHEN: At sunset WHERE: A mountain get away far from city lights WEATHER: Despite it being early July, it's almost perfect in the mountains.
Leaning on the banister of the terrace of the bathroom of the place he'd rented for the weekend, Brad looked out over the wild greenery of the mountainous terrain, the lush growth beginning to be touched with warm reds and oranges as the sun began to set. The sky stained with equally colorful clouds added to the impressive vista, the lightly billowing curtains of the open double doors leading into the impressively sized bathroom was very nearly romantic. While he normally would have been in awe of such a place, the truth was...he was a bit nervous.
Exhaling slowly, he turned from the stunning view and returned to the bathtub, kneeling in nothing but a towel and dipping his fingers in the sizable jacuzzi-tub, testing the heat. "Are you about ready?" he called into the bedroom of his significant other, languidly taking a handful of scented bath pearls from a jar on one corner of the bath and adding them in a slow sprinkle over the warm water. They'd been out almost all day after getting in to the room late Friday evening; nature walks, hiking, swimming in a natural spring, feeding 'wild' deer that were accustomed to humans, a picnic -- a plethora of activities that Brad could scarcely believed they'd managed in one day. Now, it was time to 'wind down' for the evening after dinner and dessert and, if things went his way...it would be the last night of their life as they knew it to be.
Squaring his shoulders and exhaling through pursed lips, he added a few rainbow splashes of rose petals - yellows, oranges, reds, just like the sunset outside - and stepped back to admire his handy work. It was nothing fancy, but it was nice and comfortable and smelled inviting. It didn't hurt that he'd dimmed the lights and put out a few candles - just in case! - for a more intimate mood. There was some champagne and cider to the side and a few sweet treats despite them both having eaten well. He was anticipating that despite their long, eventful day, what he was going to put forth would re-energize the young vet.
Brad smiled. Who was he kidding? It was going to re-energize him, too, if Zeke said yes.

He had been told to stay put while the bath was drawn and stayed put Zeke had, though his eyes had wandered more than once to the doorway where the sound of rushing water was and his legs itched to carry him over to just steal a quick peek inside. The urge had been strong but he had resisted and won. Between his beloved's departure and now they had shared a some gentle banter - playful of course, a little teasing, and more than once flirtatious - dotted throughout with laughter. The rumbled echo of Brad's laugh lingered in the vet's ears and kept the smile planted on his face as he surveyed his own reflection. Zeke stood before the bureau with his hairbrush in hand, shirtless and brushing his bi-colored locks free of the tangles of a long but most assuredly fulfilling day.
He had needed this. Good lord, had he needed this. Selfishly he was wishing Sunday would take its sweet time getting here, that the sun wouldn't go behind the horizon just yet, or if it did, that it would delay in returning and thus marking their last day in this paradise. It had been everything the young veterinarian had hoped for and more; a weekend of just the two of them was a rare treat Zeke always enjoyed, but there was something about this place that made it just perfect. They had filled the day to the brim with activity and affection and there was no worries, no cares, just them. Zeke turned his gaze from his reflection, past the bathroom door, to the window that was wide open and letting in the light and that clean mountain air. The sunset was stunning and the view on par with that. Everything they had done today was fresh in his mind and his smile quirked a little higher at the newly made memories. Zeke hadn't been entirely teasing when he suggested at dinner that they should call home and tell everyone who needed to be that they were staying an additional week or three. After all, home meant back to the hustle and bustle and stress of life in general. It meant two jobs, bills, rent, and worst of all seeing Brad less than he liked even though they were both adamant about getting together for quality time when they could and just as poignant about daily phone calls. Here it had just been just the two of them enjoying each other in one hell of a vista and it was something that had been so long overdue. The renewed zest the raver was feeling wouldn't die off for a long while once they went back home, but damned if he knew when they'd get to do this again with the summer rush kicking off.
"Are you about ready?"
The question drew Zeke out of his thoughts with an easy sigh and a nod to his own reflection when he set his brush back down. Although still clad in his blue denim jeans and the boxer briefs beneath those he was more than ready. A long day was behind them, dinner and dessert and a little wine was settling nicely in his gut, and there was still a long night ahead of them. He was looking forward to that. The perfect end to the perfect day. Without the fanfare one might expect of Zeke, the lean man wasted no more time in making his way to the bathroom he was so eager to enter.
"Of course I am, babe. When am I ever not?!" The vet gripped the edge of the door frame with his left hand and swung himself into view with all the nonchalance he could muster. His smile didn't disappear as he did so but when Zeke's light brown eyes were laid on the scene set up for him his expression did momentarily shift. It went from the playfulness his tone more than hinted at to one of open surprise, then to apparent like of what was before him, before shifting once more back to playful again. The latter one did take some doing on Zeke's part however. He had to pull his eyes away from the man as a whole to focus on his face, lest his ogling become apparent. If Brad was as gorgeous as the day was long to him clothed, the Italian in a towel was above and beyond that. Zeke couldn't stop the pink in his cheeks from darkening - the color apparent on his paler skin and offset by the vivid colors in his hair even in the dimmed light. His smile continued to stretch even as Zeke let go of the part of the door he held and opted to instead stand in the doorway, eyes glittering with that good humored mirth he was known for. He crossed his arms over his bare chest and cocked his head, letting that long, loose, and choppy hair of his fall as it may across his face, neck, and shoulders.
"Y'know, I was gonna ask if you were but I guess I have my answer to that question." He tossed Brad a wink as he spoke. Chuckling escaped him after that and he took his first step into the bathroom proper. That became a second, and then a third, and the space between them grew shorter and shorter until Zeke had his arms wrapped around his boyfriend's shoulders. He had to stand on his toes to make it but a gentle kiss to the Italian's lips followed, broken up only by a low, throaty hum from the shorter man just before they parted. "Hey, handsome."
From there Zeke made it a point to look around and admire every little thing Brad had done. Dimmed lights, candles, the terrace opened wide with the mountains on display and to top it all off: a hot bath with something nice smelling infused in the steaming water and many colorful petals floating atop it. Perfetto. The architect certainly knew how to craft a scene. Brad had outdone himself this time. "Quite the set up you got here."

"Hey gorgeous." The man smiled as the kiss came to an end, his arms looped around the other's hips in comfortable familiarity. Brad glanced only briefly towards the display he'd put together, but it paled in comparison to Zeke, the young man that drew his attention unlike any other. "Only the best for you," he teased, "and me if I'm allowed to partake with you." He offered a rare, crooked grin, pressing another kiss to Zeke's brow in a way that he used to soften any bouts of stubborn response he might elicit from the vet; he knew that his own self-deprecation had long been a standing point of contention, which is why he felt the need to quickly diffuse any belief that he might be serious in his words. There was no way he'd leave Zeke alone - this was for them, because they needed each other more than anything.
Lifting his hands and gently drawing his rough fingers over Zeke's cheeks, he stepped back and removed his towel, carefully putting one foot into the bath to test it, pausing in mid-stride. It was hot, but it wasn't uncomfortably so and, satisfied, he brought his other foot in, standing in the sweet smelling water. Brad turned and extended his hand out to help the younger man to get in with him...and to get a hold on his love. He was not so selfless as to not indulge, especially when they were in dire need of some downtime together. "I figured we could relax a little after such an eventful day, mm? I could use some time with just you, love."

Brad had the right of it, Zeke did start to protest the moment the words fell from the Italian's lips. The kiss to his brow cut the words off before the first syllable and transformed his lost words into a scoff, but Zeke wasn't one to give up so easily. He squeezed his beloved's shoulders firmly in protest for the self-deprecation but when Brad pulled back from that his expression was more than a touch playful.
"I thought you came standard?" The vet cocked his head as he spoke, leaning into his boyfriend's touch as he crossed his arms over his chest and lofted a brow to add to the look. Zeke couldn't fight a renewed smile and grinned, turning bodily to follow the Italian as the other man stepped back from him and made his way to the tub. He hadn't forgotten about his own lingering cover and as Brad took his first step in, Zeke stripped himself of his jeans and boxer briefs - casting both to the side and nudging them mostly out of sight with his foot. He didn't want a pile of pants and underwear to ruin the scene Brad had so carefully laid out for them both! Looking back to his boyfriend, Zeke was momentarily surprised to see the hand held out for him, but the smile was back in a heartbeat and the offering was readily taken up.
"Oh, for me? What a gentleman!" He couldn't help but tease. Zeke's grip was firm on Brad's hand and wrist as he took his own first step in. The hot water felt great as his calves submerged. They had done so much walking, running, swimming, and climbing today that the heat was a balm on pleasantly aching muscles. Once his second leg was in, Zeke's grip on his boyfriend's hand lessened so he could slip palm against palm and lace their fingers together. "Relaxing with you...I like the sound of that. I like it a lot, babe."
Zeke's eyes flicked around the tub; which had to be among the largest he had ever seen. From a glance alone it looked as though they could sit side by side comfortably...but Zeke had to wonder why that would ever be an option that came to mind. He was as content with Brad being in his arms as he was being in Brad's and looking at his loved one again, he was certain that sitting next to one another was not a thing that was going to happen now that dinner was long over.
"You want time with me, Brad?" He poked his Italian once in the chest with his index finger. "You've got it: now...what will you do with it, I wonder?" His grin was luminous as he lofted that pierced brow again and Zeke waved his free hand around the large bathtub. "And what would you prefer: should I sit in your lap or d'you wanna sit in mine? Pick option two and I'll wash your back for you." Tugging Brad into "deeper" water, he winked as if that would sweeten any deal he was proposing, laughter bubbling fresh up on his lips. This might be their time to wind down after their long, perfect day but Zeke was not a man known to not tease or flirt where he could get away with it. With them now alone and away from the world - and him here with the man he loved - he was damn sure he could do just that and he fully intended to.

"I do," he responded with an amused smile at the critical look the younger man gave him. Brad loved how confident Zeke was in countering him when he was teasing the bi-color haired man. "If you wanted to soak first, I would have been patient." When their fingers laced together, he squeezed the man's hand with affection, his gaze gentle and fond, if not a touch brighter than usual. He was exhausted from the day's events, but it wasn't over yet. It was no longer about biding his time and making sure everything was perfect: now it was the time, the moment. It'd been so long since he'd made such a gesture as he intended that it made him feel like a schoolboy asking his crush to the big dance...except this was a lot more permanent if he had his way.
The architect chuckled at the teasing that was doled back to him, stepping into the 'deeper' water and slowly taking a seat, letting the hot water slowly lap up his skin before he was able to sit. The water burbled just below his chest, comfortably heated. Holding out his free hand to indicate he wanted both of Zeke's hands, he smiled almost apologetically. "As wonderful as that sounds - and I will take you up on it - I want you in my arms for a moment." He was honest, but he also had his ulterior motive. Then it would be time for him to come clean. "Humor me for a few minutes?" Brad cocked his head to the side, indigo eyes taking in the young man's appearance for a moment. This was his love. This was his forever. He was long overdue in expressing his heart and seeing to it that Zeke knew how important he was to him.

"Psh! If you come standard, then it ain't much of a soak when you're not in it, you know?" Another wink followed Zeke's words but his playful expression turned into a momentary pout when Brad opted to take a seat in the bath instead of the veterinarian's offer. All the same, the vet slipped his free hand into the one extended out to him and his smile quickly returned as he squeezed the hands in his grasp. "Well when you put it that way...How can I resist?"
The word 'tempter' might have been muttered under Zeke's breath as he joined his lover, but if it had the vet's smile did not betray him. His motions - and intent - were eager as he slipped into Brad's arms, his hum of delight only broken up by a slow-released sigh of delight and relaxation as the bath did its job. Running around all day hadn't taken too much of a toll on him (or so he had thought) but the hot water pinpointed all the sore spots in his muscles and now worked to set those straight. Once sitting where he felt he should be seated, Zeke eased his left hand from the architect's right in favor of slipping it around the back of the other man's neck. He used that to pull himself close and peck the older man on the cheek, relaxing fully right then and there.
"Consider yourself humored, sir." Lofting a pierced brow, the raver tried to keep a straight face and failed. He squeezed his beloved as he leaned into the other man, grinning just as widely and as brightly as he had throughout their day together - albeit with a little bit of tiredness finally starting to show around the edges and the corners of his eyes. "I know I've said it half a million times today, babe, but I gotta say it again: this has been the best trip ever. This room, this whole place, all the things we did, everything is just...Damn." Zeke laughed lightly, squeezed Brad again, and waggled his brows in intrigue. "How do you do it?"

Once they were seated, settled in the gentle burble and lap of the water, Brad took a moment to soak in more than just the heat of the bath, his off-colored eyes turning again over the vet's earnest face. He'd never met anyone as optimistic and genuinely happy in all his life; Zeke's continued positive energy and bright presence had been such a source of remarkable change in his life that he could not imagine his days without the other. His emotions warmed his gaze, and gently, he kissed the bridge of the man's ticklish nose.
"I do it by loving you," he replied simply, "and wanting to be the best and do the best for you, and for us." Settling back against the wall of the bath, a hand settled beneath the water on Zeke's hip, the other around his back to support him entirely in their position. "Which brings me to the next surprise: I didn't ask you out here just for a get away. It's heaven, make no mistake, but my motives are ulterior." There was a brief flicker of a smile over his lips, a mixture of apology and sly smugness there before he resumed his somber expression. His stomach was too alive with butterflies for him to do anything but keep his face schooled; a long bad habit and surely one his beloved recognized as his 'this is serious, not bad serious, but totally serious' default.
Squeezing Zeke in his arms, he tried to find where to even start with what he wanted to say, now that the moment was upon him. "I know we've both been busy and time together becomes scarce with all the events at your workplaces and my own, and...those stolen moments, those nights of collapsing to sleep together just so we can be near each other..." The older man quirked the corner of his mouth, brows slightly furrowed, displaying clearly that it wasn't ideal. "It's not enough, Zeke, it's never enough time with you. I know this is very sudden and we should have talked about it first, but you know me when I get an idea in my head." He paused again, brief, before taking the proverbial plunge. "Simply put, I want to see you every day, Zeke. The start of my day and the end of it, I want to cook for you every day and watch bad TV with you while we eat. I want to bring Anya bunches of yarn and fresh needles for her work when I run errands, I want her to have space to grow and find her place, I want to be there for her as much as for you. So, if you'll suffer me on a more daily basis, I want us to move in together."
The man exhaled deeply. Clearly, a great weight had been drawn from his shoulders with all the words he managed to speak. When it was all out, he managed a faint smile, tapping his fingers against Zeke's hips in a vaguely guilty manner. "The house in mind is already, uh, almost finished - it's in Durem, near the vet, so, ah, if you want to see it first, we can do that..."

"You are the best," came the laughed reply as soon as Zeke sputtered and jerked back from that ticklish affection, "hell you're even better than that! You're wonderful."
The smile the veterinarian wore crinkled the corners of his brown eyes and stretched wide enough to be glimpsed around the hand that now rubbed his tingling nose. Even half hidden the look was fond and as sincere as the words he just spoke, and it stayed on even as Zeke returned his hand to its spot around the back of his loved one's neck. However as Brad brought the mention of his ulterior motive to light, the vet's pierced brows were raised slightly and his smile quirked as his eyes searched the face of his better half for answers. Brad's smile wasn't missed and added to his curiosity, but it was the change to that serious default that loosed some butterflies into Zeke's gut. He knew the expression well enough to know that what was to come wasn't bad, but the tiny flipping feelings in his gut couldn't be helped all the same, especially as the architect gave him a gentle squeeze.
Zeke would have happily given Brad all the time he needed to spill the beans but after a moment's pause the Italian man found his words and started to speak them. From the moment he started, the look on the younger man's face became a revolving door of expressions, one not lingering longer than the one before it. First it was polite puzzlement, then it was agreement followed by understanding. A tender smile lingered as the architect's brow furrowed and Zeke started to say something as he nodded, but stopped dead as Brad uncovered his motive for their extended date. From that point on only surprise ruled, and that expression itself grew and reddened as Zeke's face filled with color at what he was hearing. When Brad's words hung the air, the vet's heart was racing and he couldn't help but feel as if ten thousand butterflies were doing synchronized flips in his stomach.
"I...You..." He wordlessly mouthed something else, trying to grasp onto something, anything, as his mind and ears buzzed by what he had just been told. Zeke blinked once, twice, and then it appeared something finally clicked because the vet's face lit up and he threw himself against his lover with renewed energy. "Are you seri...You're serious!" Water sloshed up and out of the tub to splash on the tile floor. Zeke pressed his hands against Brad's shoulders, looking the man dead in the eye. Laughter erupted anew and the vet wrapped his arms around his architect once more, squeezing him as tightly as he could manage. "I can't believe...Brad...I...What am I saying? YES! Yes, a thousand times, yes! I want that too babe, every word!"
His muscles tensed until they started to ache and only then did the shorter man let the taller one go. He cupped the other's face instead and kissed him once, twice, and then three more times for good measure, breathlessly laughing all the while. His energy restored, Zeke couldn't help but wriggle and shift about, had he not been sitting he would have been bouncing about the room in the moments that followed. His head swam in the most delicious manner possible, the very prospect of sharing a home with the one he loved so dearly enough to curb his raucous laughter into excited tittering. It was as if a new day had just dawned and it was brighter than any and every that had come before it.
"What's the place look like? How big is it? Will it be done soon? Did you design it?! Tell me everything, Brad, I wanna know everything about it! Please!!"

Zeke's response was everything he'd anticipated and more, though it was hardly new for the young vet to surprise him so. Brad laughed and wrapped his arms supportively around the vet's middle as he was all but attacked with a hug, water sloshing and spilling but hardly a concern just then. He grinned easily and laughed with open amusement, utterly tickled in the surprise of his seriousness of the question. "I'm very serious, I mean, I built a house..." And he was again held with love and excitement, the likes of which made his heart soar. He didn't even have to have verbal confirmation to know the man's answer.
He tried in vain to soothe Zeke, rubbing his back and chuckling with the intense hold, kissing the other's shoulder while he was clung to. "Thank goodness, or this might have been an awkward bath." His humor was light, if not a touch dry, and he easily held his beloved for as long as the man could hold onto him, relaxing his grip when Zeke did but not letting go. He was between soft, understated laughter and amusement with the kisses peppered against him, feeling the surge of energy that took the young man's movements to new gusto and wondering if he shouldn't have said something that morning instead of before bed. ...then again, maybe this was better...
"I'd like to talk to Anastacia about it, if that's okay. I don't want her to just feel like a pet being pulled along without a say. I'm pretty sure I can sell her on it if she see's the place -- it's five rooms, two stories, three rooms up top with two personal balconies and two rooms on the ground floor. I figure we can have our bedroom, hers, my office, a room that she can have for her yarning and general freedom of not being confined to her room and...the last you can have, or we can make it a guest room, I didn't really know. But I thought it would be good just in case." He continued to rub the man's back, good humor still lingering in the lift of his lips. "Three full bathrooms, so there's no fighting for space -- it'll be done within the month. It's move ready now, but I'd still like you to see it first -- yes I designed it. It was supposed to be for a client but I saw the potential for us to grow as a family and I just...got away with my enthusiasm, I suppose." The last part was said with a touch, and only a touch, of guilt -- he supposed he got out of hand considering the house was built before the answer was given, but he wanted the element of surprise. He was pretty sure he'd succeeded there.
"Ask me anything, and when we're out of here, I'll show you the pictures that are hidden on my phone."

The laughter continued to bubble from the vet's pierced lips even as he somewhat settled into the arms that held him so dearly. Even in that embrace Zeke remained a bundle of nerves, every inch of him trembling slightly and his skin breaking out into goose-pimples even in spite of the warm bath water. As Brad spoke of his seriousness and then lightly joked in his own way, Zeke's eyes brightened further and his face began to ache with how widely he was smiling. The mention of the Frei back home sobered the younger man just a touch, making him nod to what his loved one said regarding her.
"Of course it's okay! She's a part of our family too, babe, and should have her say. It's only fair!" With the exclamation on the latter half of his statement, the vet raised his hands from his boyfriend's shoulders to put his hands briefly in the air as though the physical motion would cement his agreement in fully. Just as briefly, Zeke had to wonder how the spider queen would react to the news. With such a "present" in store, he couldn't see her acting negatively to the reveal, but one shouldn't count their chickens before they hatched, of course. As Brad spoke of "selling" the house to the Raevan, Zeke chuckled. If anyone could do anything - even the impossible, he firmly believed - it was his Italian. Now it was the idea of showing Anya the house and giving her a tour to see her reactions that put another sparkle in his eyes, although Brad revealing some of the finer details that put a few more in and even made Zeke rub his cheeks lest his face get stuck permanently in its grin.
"You went all out!" Five could-be bedrooms, three baths, balconies, and two floors?! Zeke rubbed his cheeks all the harder to try and ease some of the ache but his smile wouldn't stop for an instant. Eventually he did give up, wrapping his arms back around his boyfriend's neck where they belonged. "I don't...I don't know what to say besides 'damn babe' and 'wow'." A short peal of laughter followed and Zeke shook his head, bangs tickling the bridge of his nose as they swept over it. "I just...It sounds amazing, Brad! I can't believe it...Well, no I can, I just..." Zeke looked at the older man in eye and gestured to his face as though that would explain it away. "Wow."
They had been together for years now and Zeke would never ever lie and say he didn't want them to have moved in together sooner. But life got in the way because it always found a way to and yet now here it was, the open door right in front of them. The number of floors didn't matter. The number of rooms didn't matter. Hell, in Zeke's head, they could be living in a cardboard box and he'd have been happy, simply because they were taking the step; joining their family together under one roof and getting to be together as they should be. He was suddenly aware that there was so much he wanted to say and yet the simplest thing could cover everything, couldn't it? Zeke's mind was abuzz and he found his tongue suddenly useless. His heart hammered in his chest until he felt it might burst. The shock, the awe, the delight - everything on his face - suddenly melted and what was left was loving tenderness, which he shared with his beloved in the form of a fond but tight embrace which continued even as Zeke buried his face into the other man's shoulder.
"I'd love to see the photos," he murmured after a few lingering moments of silence. "And I'll ask your ears off, I promise. Just gimme a moment; I'm a little lightheaded and...Jesus." He sat up suddenly and cupped Brad's face then, looking down at the other and ogling him. "What kind of an a** am I?!" Back came the bright vivaciousness with a shake of the head and bubbly chuckling at the jibe aimed toward himself. Rubbing his thumbs over the architect's cheekbones, Zeke leaned in and kissed Brad, breathing two words over and over between each one: "Thank you...thank you...thank you..."

The man gently inclined his head at Zeke's agreement, smiling a little. Anya tolerated him, but she seemed to tolerate anything that wasn't of an immediate use to her. Brad still loved her as his own daughter but he also respected her as a separate entity entirely, never wanting to treat her as an inferior. Her decision was important to him.
The architect chuckled and shrugged slightly, arms still secure around the vet's middle. "It hadn't started out with us in mind, honestly. But the more it came to form, the more it was obviously for us. Even my subconscious was needling me to make this home our home, a reality." A hand lifted from the warm water to brush Zeke's hair back. "There's nothing that needs to be said. It's for us. I'm trying to look out for us as a family, as I should have done years ago." Brad smiled with a small bit of apology. Like Zeke, he knew life had constantly gotten in the way, something had always come up, but it was time to move forward. There was no more letting anything get inbetween their family.
A soft sound of amusement left him, relaxing against the edge of the tub and smoothing his hands again over Zeke's tattooed back. "Take all the moments you need, the house and I aren't going anywhere--" Brad had to repress a laugh with all the kisses, returning them with a gentle smile. "Nothing to thank me for, love. I'm doing what my heart tells me, and all it says is your name."Ravina Loki We can end it on your post if you want! ovo

"You say that, but even if it wasn't for us initially you still went all out all the same." Zeke didn't know much about condos but knew well enough that your every day one didn't have five potential bedrooms or three baths. As he spoke the vet stuck out his tongue playfully, letting the light catch the stud there. "Besides - I like to think I know you, and when you say the more it came to form you saw it as being ours, I'm sure you were putting touches in there that would make it a fit home for our family even before you snatched it up."
The corners of Zeke's eyes crinkled even as he shot the man a knowing, albeit it cocky, look. It faded only when the Italian brushed the vet's hair back, prompting the younger man to lean into the touch with a soft murmur of contentment, which quickly turned into a noise of dissent at Brad's latter comment.
"Don't you start with that," Zeke straightened and gripped his lover's shoulders firmly, looking the Italian dead in the eye. The apologetic notes to Brad's tone and smile were not missed but Zeke was not one who let the people he loved depricate themselves even a little for anything. "You've always looked out for me and Anya. It's no one's fault that we haven't made this step until now!"
A red flush settled into the vet's cheeks, making his face rather warm as he said that. Things had happened, life was like that - funny at times, frustrating at others - but they were on the threshold now, in a manner of speaking. Past was past and the here and now mattered, especially as it was leading directly into their future.
Giving his Italian as stern a look as he could manage to set his words in stone, Zeke shook his head with amusement before shivering at the feel of the hands going down his back and warming to his toes at the sweet words his loved one imparted to him.
"If you decided to up and go somewhere now I'd be following right behind you." The vet chuckled, lofting a pierced brow as if daring the Italian to try and see if he was jesting. "And I do need to thank you! You've made me the happiest man alive and are giving Anya and me a house for cryin' out loud!" Again he looked Brad in the eye, but this time Zeke gawked at the architect as if the older man had missed that little detail. The look didn't last too long; Zeke unable to hold a quirk of a smile back and then giving a sigh of defeat before any argument even started, complete with a dramatic lift and fall of his shoulders. From there, he leaned in and wrapped his boyfriend up properly once more.
"But you know..." he pressed a kiss to the tip of Brad's nose, humming the last syllable, "if you won't hear me out about it, maybe once we're squeaky clean and outta here I can show you how thankful I am instead, mm?" He pulled back and winked, showing Brad that his smile was now less than a quirk but also leagues away from its usual happy-go-lucky sweetness. "How about that, babe?"
