Why Daesat felt the need to send off Xenosa on useless errands she didn’t know, Dae had been more and more secretive these days and it was really grating on her nerves. She sent her away as often as possible, and while Xen didn’t dare ask why, the question was always on the tip of her tongue. She also didn’t dare spying on her own mentor, she’d surely get caught and she didn’t even want to think about what Dae would do to her. For now, she did as Dae bid her, listened and learned even if she was on her own most of the time now a days.
The Kiandri at this point aren’t even a challenge for her anymore, it’s not even fun to hunt them. She’s decided to stay for a week before heading on home back to Dae, so the inn paid she heads out to find her prey. It’s not even hard to rack the beats anymore; she finds a small group of them rather quickly and waits until one of them separates to catch it. The dragon doesn’t even have time to get a look at her that her knife hits home and lodges itself in it’ head. Xenosa goes to pick up the orb and moves on for another kill.
Now that the war has been over for a while, Xen wonders what will become of her. The Kiandri have almost rendered her depressed about killing them, the challenge of fighting rubbed out of her. Maybe this is what Daesat wants from her? The bloodlust gone so that she can be a more efficient killer? Certainly the anger has escaped her body by now, she is an adult and while she does have a temper it is one she has better control of now. Hopefully Daesat will send word for her soon.
