This spot was a pretty picture. The sunset over the distant mountains cast long, arching shadows across the bright fluffs of scuttling clouds, and through the cheerful pallor of the end of day shone tiny pinpricks of stars. The little start of night's lights, and the sweep of day's colors being brushed away, all reflected in the small pool of water. With the nearest trees being a few minutes' gallop away, there was nothing stopping the still, tiny lake from reflecting the sky except a few tufts of feathery grass that leaned over the pool. Well, the grass the stallion's own head and shoulders as well. Dath smiled at the sight of his sky settled on the earth, as though it needed to rest just as he did.

Really, it was almost a shame to disturb the mirror-like surface of the water, but he had been flying almost all day and, pretty as the spot was, he really needed a good drink about now. Gently at first, hoping to cause as little disruption as possible, Dathúil dipped his nose to satisfy his thirst. But when the ripples only made the clouds and stars dance and flicker, his notion that he might damage the beauty by disturbing it vanished. With a laugh, he sprang into the water, watching with glee the way the splash left dozens of little ripples to rebound and swirl around each other, the sky rippling and swirling with them. He had always dreamed of touching the stars, and while he knew no mere Wind had ever done such a thing, there was something to standing here with the evening sky drifting around his sides as the coolness of the water lapped at his belly.

It was moments like these that made standing on the ground all the more bearable.

The day had been a good day today. He'd met a few charming acquaintances and spent the afternoon catching up with them. Of course he didn't stick around, not wanting to offer the chance for them to feel... clingy. And he still had some traveling to do before he was ready to seek out a nice place to stay the night. Always one for adventure, проказник Prokaz. In fact it was just such and adventure (with a magnificently beautiful mare to add the perfect touch) that lead him so far from his usual roaming grounds. And the stallion wouldn't admit it out loud to potential flings, but he missed his twin and did not like being so far from her.

Alas, his lecherous ways had taken him farther this time, and so he was making his way - slowly - back 'home'. Except the night was quite lovely out and the flutter stallion heaved a sigh of appreciation. Only to perk right up when the faint sound of laughter caught his attention. Like a match lighting up the dark, Prokaz was instantly shining and on the move, seeking out what creature could make such a lovely sound-

Oh. Why hello~ Prokaz stood (or posed) by the edge of the lake, taking in the sight before his eyes. A pale stallion stood in the lake, the ripples making the starlight dance about him in such an enticing way. "My, my. I seem to have stumbled upon quite the gorgeous sight." He grinned, flashing the stallion a wink.

Yes, it was moments like these. Dathúil looked up from his shifting sky of water to the handsome young stallion who had approached him while he was otherwise distracted. Moments like these that made the unyielding solid ground beneath his hooves bearable.

“I would say that 'stumbled' is not the correct term, not for someone who seems as poised and graceful as yourself,” the Wind replied, his voice mellow and warm. He was not arguing. No no. He was returning a compliment. The trouble with Dath's compliments was that he required all of his to be genuine and sincere. He still had no trouble finding them, they came almost naturally in almost all situations. “Would you- ah, just a moment.” Dath shook his head, shifting to walk out from the starry pool instead of inviting the stranger to touch the stars with him. Water on pretty wings like the stallion's rarely did good. Such a thing could ruin a perfectly good evening. “So what brings someone like you all the way out here alone? Unless you aren't alone?” Dath asked, not bothered in the least by the water dripping off of him. It was a cool evening, not a terribly cold one.

Wasn't he just the charmer? Prokaz gazed much more interestedly at the other stallion, laughing lightly as he shifted his stance into something much more relaxed, but still very much classified as 'poised'. "I will not deny, I've been called graceful a time or two in my life. I greatly appreciate such a compliment from an angelic creature such as yourself." He was handsome. And those lovely wings were amazing. Fully feathered and probably soft as a doves.

Wings fluttering in his amusement, he stepped back a couple paces from the lakes edge as the other stallion made his way over. It was true that water and flutter wings did not quite understand one another. But Prokaz wasn't complaining. He got to watch the pale stallion move gracefully through the water all the way over to him. And then he was right there, glistening as the rivets of water raced down his pale coat. Prokaz just sighed.

"Well, I certainly am not alone any longer!" He chuckled, giving the pale one an elegant little bow. "I am проказник Prokaz." He trilled, his soft accent becoming more apparent. "And in answer to your question, my handsome friend, I am just passing through the area. Though this place is quite lovely and I was looking for a nice place to stay for the night."

Kyrieko
Sorry short AND slow, holidays and bad at flirting...

“A fine young stallion like you should never be alone for too long,” Dath replied, flicking some water off his tail. He felt a silly, playful urge to shake like a puppy after a bounce through the water, but the thought of accidentally damaging the pretty little golden wings that the green stallion sported was much worse than the idea of simply dripping dry in the cool, night breezes. He inclined his head, with a small sweep of one feathered wing that might have been more elegant had it not been sopping and bedraggled, as проказник Prokaz, and what a delightfully exotic name that was, bowed. “I do hope you don't mind if I call you Prokaz? I'm not entirely certain I could do your lovely name the justice it deserves. My name is Dathúil, but Dath suits me if it suits you to say. And I would appreciate your company, if it suits you to stay.”

A coy little smile toyed along his lips as he chuckled. "Then it's a good thing I happened across a stallion such as you, no?" The water trickling down his coat as he flicked some off with his tail was mesmerizing. And of course Prokaz had no shame in looking either! Oh no. "I do hope you're not too cold right now. Of course I'd be more than happy to help seek out someplace a little... warmer."

Smaller wings fluttered as the green stallion admired the bow he was given. It was so gentlemanly and had him gleefully hoping this stallion would accept an invitation to stay together for the entirety of the night!

Which was kind of exciting to think about.

Swishing his tail lazily, Prokaz tossed his head in a cheery laugh. "Call me whatever you like, darling." He winked. "Dathúil~" He rolled the name in his accent. "And if it suits you, and you prefer it, I shall call you Dath!" Eyes brightening, the green stallion returned Dath's bow with a graceful one of his own. "Then I am yours for the night, or for as long as you'll appreciate my company!"

Dath laughed, his eyes shining as the handsome flutter stallion tossed his head and then bowed in return. Prokaz had such a delightful laugh! And such a delightful temperament too, or so it seemed from what Dath had seen of him thus far. As the stallion, Prokaz, bowed back Dath took a moment to admire the bright gold and red markings that swirled and spun across his rich green fur. Such vivid colors! And they rang true, for this stallion most certainly was a vivid fellow. Playful and warm and, unless Dath were quite severely misunderstanding something, more than just a bit friendly.

“Oh, a bit of water will dry soon enough,” the wind assured Prokaz, flicking his tail again and shaking, very carefully so as not to risk dampening the lovely little golden wings on the green stallion, a few strands of his mane back out of his eyes. The better to see handsome, friendly Prokaz with of course! “But if you do know of someplace... warmer...” Dath grinned, his ears swiveling forward with undisguised interest, “I would certainly appreciate the insurance against catching some sort of chill. There is little that spoils a nice evening like a snuffly, dribbly nose,” he said with a sigh. No one like to catch sick. And he did not like to be in the company of others when he was. He always felt at his worst then, sniffling and tired and quite certain he was going to make anyone he spoke with feel the same. Better to avoid all contact until he was better, that way the sickness would not spread itself so easily. How unpleasant to leave something like a runny nose as a reminder of one's visit! That was certainly not how he would like to be remembered, nor was it how he would care to remember someone else.

Ah. But. “I would enjoy a night's company with one such as yourself,” Dath told Prokaz warmly. Friendly. Handsome. Charming. Fun. “But I will not promise more than a night,” the stallion added, his playful tone growing softer and more serious. “While I am certain I would appreciate your company indefinitely... I cannot stay long.” He let his wings spread a bit then, his own words drawing his thoughts away from the ground and the pool of water and, yes, even the handsome and playful stallion he spoke with. The sky drew him in, the wind called him on... he could not stay. He could never stay. He would never give that up, not for anything. “I would feel simply terrible if you were to misunderstand my companionship.” Misunderstandings happened on occasion. He hated those. It ruffled him that someone would try to make him stay, to force their expectations upon him, to take from him his very heart and soul and sky. But he understood it was only out of a kind of sadness, and he never wished to leave sorrow as his memory. That was far worse than leaving a coughing, sneezing cold. Sometimes sorrow didn't mend very well...

Mention of that 'little bit of water' again had the green stallion narrowing his eyes slightly in appreciation as he watched another trail of water glide down the wind male. Ah, but he was quite lovely! And Dath certainly didn't seem to mind that he was offering to keep him company for the evening. Something that made Prokaz even more cheerful and playful. One ear was lazily tilted to the side while the other was swiveled towards the lovely sound of Dath's voice.

"Ah, I imagine it will." He sighed pleasantly, lazily flicking his tail to the side. And grinning sweetly and a tad invitingly. "Oh! I may know of such a place. I did happen to pass a lovely little grass knoll just back that ways." Prokaz twisted enough to nod in the direction he indicated, giving Dath the chance to get a good look at him. "I am fairly confident it will be quite warm." Oh yes. Very warm, he was sure! Especially with agreement to enjoying his company! Prokaz was quite excited.

"This pleases me to hear." He replied with equal amounts of warmth and a brightness to his gaze. A lovely and light laugh was the response Dath received to making it known that it would not be longer than a night. Oh this stallion was just darling! And on the same page as himself. Prokaz watched the handsome stallion for a moment before approaching. He stopped just shy of him, stretching his lean neck out to brush his nose along Dath's own neck and inhale lightly. He smelled like fresh air and morning dew. "Nothing to worry about, my friend. I don't promise anything beyond a night myself." His little wings fluttered slightly, grin morphing into something charming. "I do believe, my dear Dath, that we are of the same thoughts." Chuckling softly and huffing out warm breath against the others fur, Prokaz tossed his head and started sauntering along the water's edge, pausing after a few steps. "Shall I show you that lovely little area I saw earlier?"

Invitation and warmth abounded between the pair it seemed. Smiles, friendliness, and welcome, it was a perfect meeting complete with a beautiful place and stunning sunset. Dath was still when Prokaz brushed his little green nose along his neck, resisting the playful urge to flick water on the other stallion. A damp wing might hurt him, and an injury was certainly not what he had in mind for this evening, not by a long, long way. As Prokaz turned saunter away Dath was happy to watch him go, allowing the flutter to gain enough distance to be absolutely safe from any spray before the stallion shook himself briskly. He would very much enjoy giving the handsome Prokaz a few nuzzles of his own, and being less wet would make that safer. Prokaz's little wings were just so adorable.

"It is always pleasant to meet a stranger who become a friend so quickly," Dathúil commented happily, giving himself another quick shake and flicking his tail a few times. It was good that both it and his mane were short, imagine how long he could be sodden if they were the length of Prokaz's lovely tail! "Please do lead the way," he added, trotting to catch up with the young stallion. He would dry quickly enough, the evening breeze would see to that even without the sun's warmth to help it. And then, well, the night was young.

I believe this is just about finished?

The flutter stallion paused a small distance away, having not heard the soft footfalls following him yet. A curious look tossed over his shoulder and Prokaz was treated to a little show. Whether on purpose or not, it was well worth pausing to wait for the lovely Dathúil! "Oh my~" He breathed, admiring how the water drops for a very brief moment seemed to form a halo around the other stallion. "So lovely." He gave a gleeful little snicker, wings flapping gently as he waited for his handsome new friend.

"Yes. Yes it so very much is!" He agreed, flicking his tail flirtatiously. A cheeky little smile spread along his lips as he was given the go ahead to lead the way. "Right! Yes, come this way, darling!" He pranced along, only glancing over his shoulder again to see Dath trotting to catch up. He flashed the stallion a lovely smile, slowing enough to trot beside him. "I promise to make this a night worth your time. And celebrate making a new friend!" Oh yes. They would have a wonderful night indeed!
