The night was cold, bitter so enough that his breath was great clouds as from a bellows of fire. It would be better were he a dragon, not a man of bones and flesh. If his heart were fire to match his eyes, he could breath it out as words and those hearing would be burned clean or made pillars of ash where they stood.

There were few signatures out tonight- it was too cold for the comfort of most. But Thraen, senshi of gardens, was not out for comfort. He was never out for comfort, as justice was no more comfortable than any other sword. But he was growing more used to its weight, more accustomed to the blood and pain. He no longer flinched at the memory of his hands around that lieutenant's throat. This time, Athene wouldn't stop him.

This night, or as many nights as it took, he would find that General and he would end him.

The park was clear, the arts district, the shopping ways packed with late shoppers but no energy signatures that signaled anything greater than a regular scout, youma or lieutenant. Maybe a page. The Super senshi had crossed the city in a strict search pattern, now running across one of the Piers Twin Bridges that trucks and traffic to the boat trade used. And he felt it clear, all his senses prickling and crawling with a powerful signature like walking through a wall. It was a General, without a doubt. But was it His general. The one he needed tonight.

Thraen crossed to the handrail of the bridge and looked out across the river's dark water at the golden-yellow halos along the piers and highlighting the boats parked at some and the void emptiness at others. There were a few figures far, far, off, docksmen finishing unloading this or that.

There.
On a nearer pier, a figure on the planked walk with slight figure, small stature. Dark clothes. There couldn't be more than one of that build, even so far away.

"How Providence favors the bold, " he hissed under his breath. "If I can feel you.....you can feel me."

No smile graced the harsh, stone set of his lips, but he was pleased. Then he whistled. It was a classic, jaunty sound- the traditional wolf-whistle of a man seeing something he liked and rudely appreciated from old cartoons.

Wolframite found it hard to find places during the winter months that weren't just terribly devoid of life, overly crowded with shoppers, or too risky to drain someone of energy and risk them needlessly dying from the chill. Civilians other than human trash had to be found or kept in a warm area before they woke up. Wolframite liked the piers for this reason. There were always workers, the place was spaced out and allowed for maneuverability to drain someone and still have cover, and yet had enough workers and warm areas to drag a body to stay warm or be found. The fainting could be played off as over exertion or the weather, and he made sure to visit less frequently due to a few signs posted warning about keeping warm and safe due to fainting. It was best not be too too noticeable.

At the peir, he was moving above a few cargo boxes, moving from storage unit to storage unit, avoiding the more rusty ones and being light on his feet, and following one worker gearing up for a smoke and a late night phone call. Playing with the three orbs of energy from later that night, he was ready to pounce - until he felt a energy signature too close by for comfort. As much as he was all for meeting energy quotas, energy signatures like that meant starseeds he could actually rip out, and he turned.

From this distance, it was hard to make out which senshi was there, but the whistle carried over from the hushed winter night, and he ducked, flinching at being called out so openly when he was right in the middle of stalking a civilian. When the workers looked around, he avoided their gaze, and quickly glared in the direction of the senshi cat-caller. Who was stupid enough to call out to a Nega General like he was some booty call on the corner?!!

A little more flushed than just from the cold weather, he didn't even bother rushing over, and instead teleported right over to the bridge, appearing on the road and looking around and up. "Really ******** stupid move." He said, glaring about as he tried to pinpoit the senshi nearby. "It's going to cost you."

The teleport was more and quicker response than he'd expected out of the general. But once the other man was close, his suspicions were gloriously confirmed. Here was the exact one that he wanted. And better yet, it seemed he'd hit some sort of nerve. All he'd need to do was weather a hit or two to convince the other that he was as stupid as one might assume, and the trap would come off beautifully.

Because only a fool meant to die would use the exact trick twice, assuming his enemy can't learn. I will play your fool. The noose was coiled around his left arm, a shapeless bracer of rope. He wouldn't be able to block with that arm for concern of damaging it, but he'd rather not block with his dominant hand anyway.

Thraen stepped into view from near the rail where one of the large struts of the bridge concealed him. "Then we both must pay the piper."

"You and I have unfinished business."

He shifted to fully face the other, and was surprised to see the senshi who had gone and stole his guaranteed kill. "You." Oh, he was really going to like ripping this senshi apart. "Oh yes we do. You owe me a starseed." He said, and looked to his chest before looking back up to him. "You ******** up to steal a senshi I had worked to take down. How well did it go for you? Are they alive? Breathing through a tube? You'd have just let me finish."

The senshi had been nearly dead anyways, and there had been no point in that messy rescue. Then there were those damn vines that had shaken him by just their effect.

He summoned his weapon quickly, glaring at the other now but excited for the prospect of getting back.

"As he was, so you are. As he is, so you shall soon be." Thraen shifted onto the balls of his feet. It was time to start. He started with a dash-into-handspring, aiming to kick the general with the landing.

"I hate how you talk." He said, not at all amused by his rather cryptic way of speaking. This was a time to intimidate someone, not to be poetic. It also just felt as if he was being talked down too, and sort of drained his anger a bit when he was left wondering what was just said to him. He liked clear cut answers when he was fighting.

Just as the senshi sprung at him, he kicked back and threw his own weapon at him. Dive kicking like that tended to leave you to be unable to react until you hit the ground, and he knew to keep his distance. "You honestly think I'll keep you close?" He laughed as he threw his chained blade at him. He wasn't about to let the senshi get close and in turn make him fall asleep. He'd weaken him first from a distance.

The blade found a mark at his side, chipping but ultimately turning against his ribs. It left a flap in the skin and uniform, painful and bleeding before he hit the ground. Thraen bared he teeth, gritting them against any noise expressing it though. He had guessed and banked on as much. He was, by default, the loser of this battle. He didn't have a weapon, his magic had range but not of the projectile variety, and this was a general- sheer power, strength and speed was at a gulf.

He had to weather enough wounds to ensure the general thought he was desperate to trying his magic without dying. He had to avoid any distance kill shots and force the man to come for his starseed and prove his idiocy in using a status magic that was already well known. He covered the new wound with a hand, returning to otherwise balanced stance, "Worried if I do? Don't you know how to use that thing, General, afraid of a Super senshi? Does its length compensate?"

He gritted his teeth at having his weapon associated to his d**k, and felt flustered that it was even brought up. His weapon didn't meant anything. He was - well, he guessed he was average. If it wasn't, he was sure Bill - Okay! This had nothing to do with a fight! This guy had some stupid insults!

"Oh, I know how to use it. Made some nice mince meat out of that senshi you decided to drag off, but I could break his bones with my bare hands. Actually had some fun with his fingers." He said, stepping back and then holding his ground as he yanked his weapon back, letting the chain slid through his hand, started to gather it before spinning the end again like a lasso waiting to catch a prized bull. "Magic is a pretty amazing thing. It lets you move even when you're bleeding like a pig. Makes you live long. Terrible thing. Just bleeding and not passing out. I wonder how long you can stand. I wonder if you'll last longer than he did."

He threw his blade out and this time snapped the blade, not using the weapon to stab, but to swing out into a wide arch about chest level in hopes of it hitting the senshi on his side and wrapping him. He needed to chain the senshi up to really deliver some damage.

I will not fear the dead-maligned. Words cannot hurt that boy now, and his murder is done. This cannot be personal. Execution is not Revenge. That death is merely the proof of guilt in my hand. Execution is not Personal.

But he tries so hard to sting, as though to torture, and to what advantage? He has them all, except anguish in my mind. My being wild serves nothing but to make me an animal to other eyes. But he grimaces at the weapon. He disliked the whistle.
His thoughts were flying as the blade was drawn back and swung. It would be thrown again some way and he knew what he would do when it was.

He stopped, dropped, and rolled- the blade sailing where he'd just been. The aim was wicked, and generals plainly had their rank for reason. Nearer the ground was safer. He crouched up again. Sexual inneundo offends him. He would hate Stroud. Talk like Stroud-

"The boots are Wood aren't they? I've got enough stamina, Romeo, if you're so eager to wrap your weapon with mine. "

Sly b*****d. He was aware of what could happen if a chain hit an object, and had ducked in time. Fast, but his luck would wear out. Right now he was getting familiar with his weapon, and he expected him to use it - but Wolframite could do just as much harm without it than with his blades, and sometimes risking for a surprise hit was all he needed. Once he got the senshi on the ground, he could keep him there. A few good hits to the chest, break a rib, twist a shin, and he'd be unable to run without hobbling. He'd be as good as dead - and then he'd have a nice starseed that he might even delight in taking as a personal prize.

The commentary was not wanted, and while Wolframite had grown chattier through the months, this conversation bothered him. Was this guy...hitting on him?

The thought had been a split second of flattery and quickly hit the breaks to all out disgust and embarrassment. A senshi was hitting on him. A SENSHI!

"As if!" He said, his voice a bit more high pitched than he would have liked. "You need your head checked. Here, let me split it open on the pavement and see." He said, regaining his growing tone before throwing his weapon out to stab at him, but this time waiting for a split second before lowering himself and rushing low to deliver a punch in hopes of surprising him.

Well, he's certainly not happy. Ugh, but I can't keep that trash up. I don't even know how she does it. The weapon was coming around to bear again.

He dove left, rolling up to a crouch again to fist right in the chest- no, no he hadn't expected that one. There was that 'warriorness' he lacked coming back to him in spades- a scholar on the battlefield where he didn't really belong. He could predict and pull strings well, but he wasn't infallible. He wasn't perfect.

It drove him back onto he backside from the crouch and a foot still in momentum from the sheer power of someone who could more than jump the two stories of a lieutenant or scout. Who could do more than a Super of Captain. There would be cracks- fractures in the upper ribs that would make breathing difficult later. It was time for the first magic use, while the general was close, even if he teleported away, or leapt away. Get him comfortable he remembers the trick of it the first time, then he won't fear the second. While I can still breath...gads...

" Thraen Annual Planting !"

How it Works - Thraen folds his hands together like prayer, the opens hands and they are full of seeds. He blows over them, dispersing the seeds. Hundreds of flowers spring up, growing and blooming magically. Their scent causes those who stand near them to fall asleep.
Range - The patch of flowers that grows is a 10 ft. radius around Thraen
Duration - The flowers bloom in the post he casts them. If those in the flower bed or near it do not get at least 10 ft. away from the flowers, they fall asleep like Dorothy in Wizard of Oz. The sleep lasts for 15 seconds. The flowers last for 20 seconds.
Damage Summary - This is not a damage magic. No damage occurs from the spell itself, nor is any intended. If the writer of someone being affected wants their character to fall to their knees and then flop over and take no harm at all, that is up to them. If the writer of someone being affected by this wants their character to fall over mid-run and skid to a stop with a broken nose, that is up to them. But there is no damage effect in the spell itself.
Weaknesses - If someone doesn't stay near them long enough, they don't fall asleep. If people hold their breath, wear a breathing mask, or cover their mouth and nose with wet cloth can avoid the scent as well. Once a person has fallen asleep in one flower bed, they cannot be affected by that bed again. Only a separate bed would affect them. This is an AoE (area of Effect) spell that effects allies as well as enemies.
Frequency of Usage - Twice a battle

This one is the exact same as he's seen before, just the sleep-flowers 1st tier.

And there was the magic trick from before, and just as soon as the shout was given, Wolframite kicked out and jumped away, creating the distance to keep away from those damn plants. It didn't require much to stay away from the field of blossoming flowers, and he made sure to take the wind into account. Covering his mouth, he yanked the chain and sent it back to him.

"Old trick." He called back, watching him. "Keep using up your magic, boy. It will just make this easier." He called out, waiting for the flowers to disburse before he continued. There was no way he was going to take a nap during a battle like this.

He backed away from the flowers, as expected. The General hadn't completely figured out what it was that had put him to sleep, maybe- that it was the scent, and not contact. Or he worried of other mucus membrane contact maybe, like eyes? It didn't ultimately matter. The General might soon enough guess as well as the captain-c**-lieutenant to hold his breath or cover his mouth and nose. If one wasn't exerted or desperate for air, it was easy magic to avoid. It may never have been meant for war, but to entice others to relax in those expansive, now skeletal gardens on his asteroid.

At least he was banking on the General's coming to the conclusion of how non-aggressive his scout magic was. But the blade was coming back, at speed, and while he had the time and foresight of it to dive again, getting a face-pelting of flowers as he did. He felt that he was not fast enough this time, hadn't guessed precisely enough. The blade hadn't embedded into him, but it had opened a gash across his latissimus dorsi as it sailed over him. Which could have as easily been his aim. He can as esily predict how I will dodge like I his attacks, and be leading his shots

Boy? Thraen rolled up again. There was blood running down his back, staining blue into brown-black. "You're what, twelve?"

He jumped, this time going to the other side and started to walk to better position his blade to hit the man. He stopped once his weapon was all the way recalled back to him and took a moment to hold the chain at the base of where the blade started to admire the way the blood pooled into the design etched in the middle. "Much older than that. I've been a Negaverser far longer than you even heard about the senshi." He said, though he had been young when he was recruited.

He dragged his finger over the blade, looking at the blood that stained his finger, before he returned his grip on the chain, gave it slack, and started to spin it. "So, flowerboy. All this talk and you still haven't hit me yet. Lets see how long you can dodge before I start making your organs my pincushion." He wanted to get the senshi away from the crowd of flowers to a clear area. By now, he was bleeding pretty badly, which meant he would be ripe for the taking. He yearned to hit him in that smart-a** face of his and really deliver some damage.

He did another sweeping throw, this time aiming low either catch the senshi or to make him jump away from the flower bed.

Thraen briefly regretted not trying to source if this general was known among his few contacts- maybe Maia, ********* or Aquarius had a run in or some rumor of him. The impression offered was that he was one of the older combatants in the war. But information straight from the horses' mouth, when that horse was as unreliable a narrator as blade-happy sociopath here, was information best compared for it's worth against more sources. But Athene had left him with a sour taste in his mouth for any of 'contacts' he had- revealed to be more that than 'allies'.

Thraen did choose to leap, but not generically- he landed in the trestle beams of the bridge, looking down at the other. The title imparted would have made him laugh if the sound were ready anymore to his throat (it wasn't). He called himself as much often enough in the face of the oh-so-terrifying cosmic energy that was his to command. I make flowers while the enemy makes bodies-

"Not yet," the super senshi conceded. "We already discussed stamina."
