For the first time in what felt like forever, Eternal Sailor Corvus had powered up and taken to the streets of Destiny City. A little careless and carefree about it, she'd set the mp3 player function on her phone to play a song that pushed her forward, taking her up to the rooftops. Her eyes drifted over the city; so beautiful, so peaceful with the lights... Street lights, window lights, Christmas lights. Taking a deep breath she closed her eyes for a moment, taking in the crisp chill of the night air before taking off. She ran across the flat roof top, building momentum in her movement until she reached the ledge. That didn't slow her down. If anything, it added a spring to her step as she vaulted herself over the edge to the next rooftop, looking for that racing rush that she hadn't felt in forever, pacing herself in time to the music as it played. She was oblivious to anyone else that might be around, not a thought in the world as to what might happen if someone spotted her. With the exception of the top of her bodice and the occasional flash of milky flesh exposed to the air she would be hard to see anyways in her dark attire; a shadow on the moon, a whisper on the wind. It felt liberating.

He must have seen her when he was not powered, some hint of movement in the wide world beyond an unknown window that let him appear so utterly abruptly and exactly. He snagged the little ‘bud’ from her ear, the edge of the strains of music escaping with a tinny edge into the night. “And what are you listening to little bird?” Had it been anyone else it might have been a little seductive, he held the edge of the earbud to his own ear, so close you could feel each other breathing. “How nice.” He said approvingly and held it back to you, tipping his head slightly. “Those wings of yours, would suit you SO much more if they were a bit darker.”

It was a testament to her ability to balance in heels that she didn't stumble at the sound of the voice, or that sudden feeling of looming darkness. If anything, the world just seemed as though it were pausing around her, like that split second in an anime battle where time stood still before a sword exploded through someone. She tugged away with a startled gasp, the cord of her headphones yanking free from the phone that had been tucked neatly into her bodice, leaving the music to play aloud between them and the silence. Icy eyes narrowed as she eyed the powered individual. "... Has anyone ever told you how incredibly creepy that is? I'm sure they haven't... I bet the Negaverse just loves the looming stalker types."

“You flatter yourself overmuch to think I’d be interested in you like –that” He did laugh though. A surprisingly pleasant sound for someone who was so utterly surrounded by that deep dark feeling of almost all-consuming chaos that pressed down like a dark weight. “I think you from the side of order are just jealous that you haven’t grasped how to do that particular little trick.” He pulled his mask down to reveal a smile that for a moment was positively Cheshire.

"You were the one commenting on the bow attached to my backside." She kept her 'fight or flight' pose for the moment, every muscle in her body tense and ready to spring for one or another depending on how the start of this little meet-up went. Oddly enough, she let her guard down slightly when he drew his mask away from his face. "Jealous, cross... There's a number of things we're none too pleased about, although I can't claim to speak for everyone on my side of the line as I might have tried to a few years ago." There were ideals that she could remember clinging to so strongly and now thinking of them just hurt. "What brings you out tonight, Zinkenite?"

Skye Starrfyre [/quote“Perhaps I saw some little bird –flitting- beyond my window, quite distracted. After that, it was just a matter of waiting a reasonable amount of time before appearing, here… to see what exactly drove you tonight. I want to know, that’s the only thing I really watch, you should know that.” “I am here because you are… secret of the whole war wouldn’t you say?”

"I could say the same, you know..." It was likely that they all could by this point. "This time four years ago I was at the mall on a Friday night; out with friends, enjoying myself. I had no idea that in the span of four weeks my life would be turned upside-down because one of your people decided to mug me right as a cat was strolling past. I am here because of that night. I exist as a result of every battle that has been fought... Every life that has been lost." Finally she eased back on her heels, fingers running slowly back through her hair. "Four years ago... Was this where you thought you would be today?"

“No… you’re here because your home worlds are destroyed. You blame us, but that’s human nature. Part of you holds something less than human, but that’s increasingly true of our ranks too.” He shrugged his shoulder. “Four years ago… four years ago I had the same dreams I do now.” He replied enigmatically and then shook his head. “No… perhaps they are not so dark, I’ve grown closer to something in my dreams that I wanted badly. Though I think I will never have the ideal that haunts me. What’s the saying? Reach for the stars? We can’t leave this world, not like YOU can… but maybe someday.”

"We're a double-edged sword, your ranks at mine. Neither would exist without the other. I may have been reincarnated here because my 'home world' was destroyed, but who is to say that I ever would have awoken had one of your rank never attacked me when I was walking home one night as a normal teenage girl." Her eyes lingered on the cityscape as she spoke, letting the words linger between them for a moment before she turned to cast a tired gaze upon him. "What is it that you strive for? You, personally, General King... Not your organization, unless your desires now only exist to be theirs."

“Funny, I didn’t wake for that reason, but when someone in white beat the –tar- out of me as a civilian, it certainly left a lasting impression.” He replied with an arched eyebrow. “And we don’t attack little children, yet you have ‘chibi’ senshi awakened quite often. Even we don’t stoop to –that level- for all that we are accused of.” His gaze returning to her, in focus of the question was strange though, suspicious that anyone would want to know, let along want to know his goals, his dreams, his desires and dark secrets. His jaw worked slightly and his eyes narrowed before he tuned back to gaze out over the city. “Seems a dangerous thing to ask, what are yours?”

"I think any guardian cat that awakens a child should be flogged. Children shouldn't see the sort of things that I've seen, that we've seen. They should have a chance to grow up; to make their own choices, their own decisions." Her gaze steeled at that, jaw tightening slightly. Not that fourteen or fifteen was really all that much more than being a child, but it was better than ten... Wasn't it? "My goals? I want to make it through college... Find a nice boyfriend, maybe even have a family at some point. I want to finish the blanket I've been crocheting in time for Mother's Day. As you said, though, not all stars are within reach."

“Well, crocheting is pretty hard I hear.” He replied with a smirk. “Not sure even if I were interested in such things that I’d want a family. I’d rather not think that… if the war goes on that they might ever be part of it.” “I’d like it acknowledged someday that the senshi have done… at least as much damage if not more than we have to this city, I’d like the war to be over… I’d like… respect.” He gave a small sharp laugh at that last mention. “Though I will be grateful that since the Blood Moon Court… no one has driven themselves again to do something so… so chaotic again.”

"The war isn't going to end until the last spark of light extinguishes... Or until the last shard of chaos shatters. Unless you think it's possible for all of us to coexist." There was a trace of bitterness to her own words at that. "Between the strength of our magic and the destruction of your weapons... It seems as though the Knights are the only ones trying to balance things out by just holding their ground and protecting things; those I've met, at least. Is this really what we have all become? What we have to look forward to? Darkness." She gestured out to the night in front of her. "Don't you ever miss the light?"

“What makes you think you –are- the light?” He replied and shook his head. “Why, because your…. princess represents an orb or stolen light in the night sky? Because you wear white, and wear white wings? Is that… some mystic sign of inner goodness, kindness, love… oh and torture, massive spells, turning civilians into space walls, lets not even mention Elysion, torturing half the city in its –sleep every night. He shook his head with a laugh. “Between the destruction of your MAGIC, and fighting our weapons there is destruction. But we exist everywhere else in the world… and you do not. Yet the stars still shine, we haven’t resorted to corrupting children, the moon hasn’t split in twain and people sleep without being put in a coma.” “No…I don’t miss the light, I greet it every morning and I hope every evening to see it again. But for all that, for all the excuses and the justifications and the ‘look what color we’re wearing’ statements, I think the universe, as a whole must need both sides of this war. It only makes a kind of sense. Though I wonder if most aren’t too entrenched in the war to think about such things.”

"God, don't make me laugh. The colors we wear mean so little compared to our actions... If you ignore these useless things," she reached back, giving a light tug to the over-sized white wing 'bows' attached to her backside, "I'm dressed every bit as dark as you are... And if we're bringing up the past... What about the tree?" Did he even remember what Tanzanite had done to the aliens? The sacrifice that had been made to protect them from the Negaverse after that? "I won't say that we all represent something good and pure... I am the Senshi of Vengeance." A small snort brought a puff of air turning to mist just past her lips in the cool night air. "No one, to my knowledge, has ever said anything good of revenge."
