Silent. Claws flexing. Lean shoulders rolling back luxuriously as brilliant emerald eyes focused on a particularly juicy looking rabbit. It wasn't often that the creatures came into the city park and Khayman relished it. Rabbit tasted oh-so-good, cooked or not, and it was one quarry he wouldn't even bother to share with anyone at the apartments.

His long dark tail swished back and forth, fur grazing grass softly as he watched the timid creature's nose wiggle and ears twitch. He had to make sure he was downwind of the thing, crawling ever so slowly to change his position until a sweet-laced smell wafted towards his nose and assaulting his senses. He wrinkled his nose and exhaled quickly at the unneeded distraction. He knew this smell. It was like Pip and his humans. Senshi.

While he hadn't had a particularly bad experience with White Moon denizens, there was always the risk that this one was not as friendly as previous acquaintances. He decided to hold back, one eye on his quarry whom was nibbling at clovers while his ears twitched to and fro on the lookout to protect himself. Even as feral as he acted at times, it was still noticeable he was a guardian cat with the gaudy star on his forehead which was sometimes more trouble than it was worth. Human children especially delighted in chasing after an odd cat with strange markings. Shaking his head softly, he crouched in an underbrush closeby the rabbit, hidden from immediate view, readying himself to dart forward and leap upon the bunny, clamping down on its neck for as merciful and quick a death as he could afford it.

Then, dinner time much to his delight.

The park was a familiar place. Not to the new soldier that fought for the moon, but for the girl beneath the glamour. The dancer that captivated a crowd to the beat of a drum and the oh so melodic chime of trinkets and bells. The Hindi beauty who drew the eye with a peaceful smile, but who never said a word unless spoken to. Mysterious and exotic. She had never walked these familiar paths by night, had never had reason for before, but with a new calling came new responsibilities. Pavo, Senshi of Mirages, protector of the innocent and defender of justice. That's what she had been told, so that is what she would do. She was too new to question it, too inexperienced yet to know if she should.

But experienced was earned through action.

So Pavo would do as she was told, and she would patrol the night and play guardian to any citizen the Negeverse may target. She would keep them safe from harm, or at the very least she would try. The girl was not a fighter, had never met with violence in the past. Her first real brush with danger had been on the night she'd been awakened. Get stronger, fight back, or let shadow and death take her. She hadn't had a choice.

Did she have one now? Another question unanswered to add to the growing list. A list that had grown so much longer since having met Adonis. She didn't know what he was, but he had raised some compelling insight.

Her mind was a turbulent whirlwind of query and contradiction, and she would not notice the presence of another as she drew closer to the cat and it's prey. But it was impossible for Pavo to move in silence through the dark. She walked to the sound of bells, their soft chime weaving a n unpredictable song. The rabbit would hear her coming, and it's head lifted at the sound, frozen for long, stretching seconds before finally darting away across the frosted lawns. A spoiled hunt, and she was unawares.

Khayman silently cursed as whatever damned senshi came near made so much noise. Were they all that loud? He didn't know but it had spoiled his lovely silence and contemplation. His shoulders and powerful legs springing to life, he darted towards the rabbit, intent on grasping it before it got away, taking a mighty leap, large paws outstretched almost like a lion before....alas, had he not looked up perhaps he'd have caught his quarry. Perhaps he'd have landed on his feet as well instead of ungracefully faceplanting, front paws outstretched and backside flailing in the air.

But Khayman had indeed looked up, and been distracted by what he saw. Long, dark hair broken only by a splash of color, even caramel skin adorned with intricate tattoos of some sort, more bangles than you could feasibly count, and the slightest most delicate frame he'd ever come into contact with.

Now Khayman wasn't really the sort to fall for girls, and he certainly was not now, but he could not say the beauty hadn't distracted him at least. She wasn't unpleasing to the eye in the slightest, though he couldn't say for certain he was attracted to such mysterious energy that she leaked like a siv.

He'd gotten much better lately about sensing energy, especially after his embarrassing first meeting with Pippin, a hyperactive little friend he still wasn't sure he was actually allowed to have. This girl leaked it profusely, and he frowned. Where were her own guardian cats? Did they not take care of their young ones? Did they not sense how vulnerable they were when their energy went unchecked and unaltered? True, he wasn't capable of doing it himself yet, but he assumed from watching others at the home base it was only a matter of time before he could protect his senshi and nega-agents better.

His nose wrinkled at the thought, and again at the thought of losing his dinner because of a pretty face and jingling accessories. He decided he'd observe this one for a time, if only to make sure she didn't cause trouble for any of his nearby little ones, or so he rationalized to himself. Surely he wasn't attracted to and curious about such a creature. He was a cat, cats didn't get attracted to humans. They got attracted to luxurious looking Persians and all that beautiful long white fur.

With a disgruntled snort, he looked in the direction his prey had fled, waltzing over to a nearby tree and scaling it fairly easily to perch and watch her. Even if she caused no trouble for his own faction, he neither wanted to cause her trouble as well, the least he could do was shadow her until she found herself safe and sound.

Slippered feet left dainty little prints in fresh snow, and not for the first time Pavo found herself reflecting on just how impractical the clothing of senshi seemed to be. Admittedly, the chill that wrapped around bare skin didn't sting like it should have, didn't penetrate down to the core. It was cold out, winter was upon them, and by all laws of nature, as under dressed as she was, the girl should have been huddled in a shivering pile with blue lips and numb fingers. She suspected some magic was at play. but had yet to find someone she could ask about it.

Thought speaking of magic. There was someone else wandering the park that night, but not something Pavo could have labeled. She was woefully new to this life. New enough that she still didn't know what the niggling feel of something at the the back of her mind really meant. A presence, that much she was sure of, but not where it was, nor who it cold be.

A certain sense of self preservation had her reluctant to seek that presence out, obligation and duty said otherwise. She frowned as she came to a stop, breath leaving in a misty cloud between parted lips, and finally looked around herself. There was nothing, only the wide stretch of winter dead lawn and it's fresh blanket of barely touched snow. Interrupted only by the wide trucks of old trees near the winding paths and the distant silhouette of a playground.

But she felt something.

"Hello?" It was hesitant, soft. Dark eyes drank in the scenery around her, seeking out shadows and watching for movement. She could feel eyes upon her, and it rose goosebumps along henna kissed arms where the winter chill had not.

Khayman had an entirely different quarry now. Watching the sailor scout attentively, he marveled at how she seemed unaffected by the snow and wondered at the magic that senshi seemed to carry. Something so simple as clothing was imbued with special properties, alluding to just how much power their bodies carried.

Why also, did their outfits need to be so nonsensically skimpy? Khayman didn't abide how much skin was showing on the girl. Wasn't proper. It certainly wasn't because it distracted and entranced him. He wasn't sure if he should reveal himself or not. It wasn't as if he was in service to her specifically, and they weren't on the same side, so what did he owe this young woman?

He wanted to be colder, be more like the commanding officers of the Negaverse, but while he could ruthlessly kill an animal no problem he couldn't muster the malice required to lead this girl to harm. Stars and moons bless him if a senshi ever wished him harm, because he wasn't sure if he could justify harming them back. Sliding out of the shadows silently, he didn't make any outward sounds or dramatic entrances to announce himself. If she noticed him, so be it, if not then he'd walk her home without instigating.

Intelligent green eyes watched her, and while he noticed her mild curiosity and perhaps even discomfort, too many possibilities swirled through his head while his tail swished softly, the only indication of his anxiety over the situation and what he should do. Staying close to the tree line, he hummed softly, his voice human and deep and attempting to be soothing without having to talk and possibly say the wrong thing.

The skin between shoulder blades itched with the feeling of lingering eyes upon her person, but as far as she could see, she was alone. Still, the goosebumps did not fade, and as started moving again, a frown making the bow of her lips into a plush pout, her arms were wrapped tightly around herself. Something was here, she could feel it, a foreign ping on her internal radar, close, but hiding.

Or perhaps just very small.

The hum made her pause, breath held, and eyes snapping around to the source. Not a man, as the deep voice might suggest, but a...cat. A crease formed between dark brows, and her head cocked to one side as she stared down at him, looking for the tell tale star on his forehead that marked him as special. It was there, but it was dark, and he didn't feel the same as the one that had given her her powers.

"Are you a guardian cat?" She asked him, features smoothing. Arms uncrossing as she sank down to crouch on the snow littered path. "Are you following me?"
