Molly fidgeted with the hem of her coat sleeve nervously as she stared at the expanse of the island, and the princess golem that stood off in the distance. Yikes. She was now required to do at least one training course due to the new division rules, and even though she had completed the Mist Taken Tower once that was like…a really long time ago…and it only felt fair and right to do one now…

But doing this on her own was nerve wracking, and she didn’t have the bravery to ask anyone else because they seemed too stressed out and busy, and she didn’t want to bother them.

Thus Molly stood, biting her bottom lip, and fidgeting with the hem of her sleeve, trying to build up the courage to get this training course underway. She would probably be here for a while if left to her own devices.

It was sheer determination that kept him coming back to the training grounds. His first attempt had been a failure, his second one had been no better, but as the saying went, 'third time's a charm!'. It was his hope that he could at least make it two steps in this one, seeing as it was his third try at training. This time he chose something new, approaching the area reserved for the Mist training. He had heard about Aria, the woman who had watched the Hunter Games with him, but it didn't stop him from wanting to try it out.

To his surprise, he was not alone. There was a woman there with red hair, but by this point he shouldn't be surprised. By now three of the five women he had met had been red-headed, perhaps this island simply enjoyed hiring anyone with genetic differences...which also explained how he was here too. Thank you, poor eyesight. More important than her hair colour though, was her body language. It completely screamed nervous, and it was enough to make him drift closer.

"Is everything alright, Miss?"

Molly was so caught up in trying to motivate herself, she didn’t notice the approach of another, which is why she didn’t specialized in Death Division stuff…she was awful at sleuth. The trainee let out a surprised squeak, and immediately spun around, eyes wide and a hand pressed to her chest. She immediately relaxed once it was apparent it was another Hunter, and she was even more at peace once it was apparent it wasn’t a Hunter outranking her…that would have looked awful.

“O-oh, yes!” She replied, smiling nervously at the new comer now. “I’m so sorry! You startled me!” Molly took a moment to observe said new comer, and was not at all surprised to find out that she didn’t know this one. New faces were just springing up all the time! How exciting!

Now, Molly beamed at the trainee, and then held out a hand. “I haven’t seen you around before! My name is Molly, Mist Division!” She always said that, but it was obvious by her coat.

Ripley merely smiled along; he was used to scaring people. He had been told in the past that he walked too softly, and it seemed that old habits died hard. Either that or she had been so lost in thought she never thought to keep an ear out for company.

"I don't think so, either." He agreed, reaching out to take her offered hand for a firm shake. "Molly? Oh, you're the lady who commented on my twitter." His lips twitched into an amused grin. "Ripley, Death Division." New kid trying not to fail he added mentally, before he released her hand.

"Could I be so bold as to ask you to join me on this training exercise?"

Aww, he had a really nice hand shake! Molly returned the gesture firmly as well, and clasped her hands together over her stomach once she let go, beaming. When he brought up the twitters, though, Molly’s face froze in that smile, but her eyes got a bit wide. Oh no…oh no…she didn’t remember…it was so long ago and she hardly checked it since then. Oh. Oh dear…this was awful…

Oh dear. “Oh!” She gasped, and then nodded her head. Hopefully this passed off as acceptable. “Well, Ripley, it’s so nice to finally meet you in person!” He seemed like a very nice young man. Wait...Ripley…was this the young man Abbi was talking about? Some…super otome cat—

But luckily, she was distracted from that train of thought when Ripley said some magical words.

Ripley would then find himself enveloped in a hug. A very grateful hug. Molly also may have been tearing up, because she was so happy and relieved.

I would love to! Thank you so much for asking!”

Then realizing she might have made the young man uncomfortable, she quickly released him, her hands pressing against her stomach again. “I’m sorry!” She quickly uttered, sheepishly, and then looked back at the training course. She was about to suggest they go, but paused, and then looked back at Ripley.

“Did you eat breakfast this morning?”

Very relevant.

Oh. Oh okay. A hug. Yes, that was nice. He'd only gotten as far as patting her on the back before she detached herself and put some distance between them. "Any time. Training's more fun with company." He assured her with a smile, which faltered a bit at her question.

"Of course I did, I always do." He answered, surprised. Very few people asked him about his eating habits, but he was always very keen on making sure others had eaten as well. Mostly Abbi. Still, it was neat to have someone ask him about that too. "Did you? You can't go training on an empty stomach, you know." Plus it was the most important meal of the day.

"I've never tried this course before, have you?"

The Miss Taken Tower

General Information
As the general, jack-of-all trades division, the Mist Hunter training course is a combination of the other divisions' training challenges and also one of the more complicated. The goal of this course is to rescue the princess in the tower. Below her, you'll find yourself confronted with a number of shadowling attackers, and beyond them, a room of only slightly deadly traps. But even should you reach her location, you still need to pick the lock on the manacles holding her in place. Unskilled fiddling with the locks will prove unhealthy for both the princess and yourself. And once that's done, you need to make your way back down through the traps and shadowlings, defending the princess the whole way.

The Miss Taken Tower is one of the most challenging and frustrating courses available.

If you fail: your princess dies, and you are quite possibly KO'd. Senior hunters are observing and will make with a timely rescue as needed.

If you win: the princess will adore you for the rest of her exceedingly brief existence. Peen points for 100% health for you and the Princess, shadowlings fought, going for consecutive rescues.

    - roll your regular attack
    - roll your regular attack again

“Yes it is!” Molly agreed, clapping her hands a bit, and then was beaming widely once Ripley answered her question about breakfast. She was oh so delighted! “Oh, I’m so glad!” She exclaimed. “A lot of people aren’t eating breakfast in the morning, and that’s not a good way to start the day!” She sighed softly, and frowned a bit at the thought of people not eating, before she smiled again. “I always do, too!” She assured, and then finally turned back towards the tower.

“Ah, yes! Once, back when I was a trainee…and it was a little under two years ago I last did this…” Molly admitted a bit sheepishly, and looked back at Ripley. “The first part is the Sun run, followed by the Death run, and then the Life run, and then the Moon run, because we'll have to escort our princess golems all the way back down after reaching the top…and um…” She paused. “At the top, there’s going to be a princess golem you have to rescue…” She smiled. “The golem might take on the appearance of someone you know…any one on this island…! Just to give you a heads up…it startles people sometimes when they get to the top and it’s the golem in the form Death Divison Lead waiting for them…” She laughed a bit nervously.

“But, good luck, Ripley! I think we can do it!” She smiled, and stepped away and towards the tower to put some distance between her and Ripley as she summoned her weapon, and then got to work. She mowed through a wave of shadowlings with ease.

"Good, keep it up." Ripley flashed her a smile, really approving the whole breakfast thing. The smile faded as she went on to explain the Mist Course, how it was one division's training after the next. He'd already failed at the Death and Sun runs, but this one...this one was both of them, and then the others. It made sense, since Mist was the jack-of-all-trades division.

"A Princess? Err, okay. Sounds like fun." He watched her walk away and summon a--- holy crap what was that?! That girl - with a giant - what. She cut through the shadowlings with ease, and then he was on her heels, though he struggled a little more than she did for obvious reasons.

“You keep it up too! I’m so proud!” Day was made, because someone else made sure to eat breakfast too.

Molly was indeed plowing through shadowlings…until she made the mistake of looking over her shoulder to make sure Ripley was doing okay. “Are you doing alright?” She asked, and stumbled, but luckily managed to fend off the shadowlings. She then focused straight ahead again.

“We’re at the next stage now, Ripley!” Molly just sounded so excited, since she deemed this as a good start.

Ripley didn't realize he'd been holding his breath until he had cleared the first stage, coming out from the dark tunnel to see the Deathsweeper training. He looked behind him, and then ahead of him, and let out a cheer. One that was quickly silenced due to embarrassment.

"I, err - have never passed that course." He explained, feeling the need to considering he had, well, yelled. "...never got further than two steps into the room." He added sadly, bowing his head in shame. Her excitement was enough to make him perk up again, and he nodded with a grin. "Yes, this is great! Onto part two!" The Trainee pointed ahead with Wilhelm, the weapon gasping at the appalling gesture.

< How RUDE! > The weapon huffed, promptly ignored by the excited Hunter.

"I can hear a little accent in your voice...where is that from?"

Molly paused before crossing the threshold onto the next part of the tower, as Ripley cheered. She startled a bit, and swiveled her torso around to stare at him as he explained. She then went wide eyed, gasped, and then smiled widely. The trainee shouldered her monster lance, and then clapped loudly and enthusiastically for the Death trainee. "Congratulations!" She cried. "That's wonderful! I'm so happy for you!" She then beamed at his enthusiasm, especially as he gestured to the next section with his weapon.

"Onwards, yes! Good luck!" Molly was about to step onto a tile, but paused once again at his question. "Accent?" Her foot paused, and she fell silent for a moment as she suddenly stared at the tile. "...That's not a good tile!" She suddenly announced, and then skittered over to the next one, which was safe. "Ah, yes, sorry!" She turned to smile at him. "Um, I was born in Ireland and lived there until I was around five or six...how about you?"

The loud cheering was nice, and Ripley dipped into a little bow despite himself. "Thank you, thank you~" Her enthusiasm made the embarrassment flee, and in its place left a strange feeling of giddyness. It was strange: Ripley was not the giddy type.

"Yes, Accent." He agreed, before startling at her sudden announcement. Well then, that was interesting. His head tilted and he looked down, observing the tiles around them. Omitting the one she had just stepped on, that left... Ripley moved to the next tile, delighted to find that it was a safe one. The last time he had done Death Sweeper, he had been impaled. Well, his golem was, but he sure as hell felt it. He glanced at her as she answered his question, but put more of his focus onto where to step next.

"Ireland, huh? That's interesting! Where was home after that?" He inquired, understandably distracted as he tried to plan his next steps. "Ah, I didn't think I had an accent. I'm Canadian, born and raised."
