Personality: Chell is a quiet person, she doesn't necessarily want to be, but due to her condition she doesn't have a lot of choice. She is a doer, she usually has to show people what she is trying to explain rather than actually explaining. She does this through pointing, miming, drawing and if the other person can read, writing. Chell is a relatively nice person, she likes to stick to herself, help out if she is able and has a pretty good outlook on life. She may appear shy at first, but that's normally because she's not really fond of company, but to nice to just tell you to go away.
However Chell's docile nature can be easily broken if she feels like herself of others are in danger, she had no problems with shooting someone down, although she often gives the opportunity for escape, she would rather avoid killing most people.
Bio: While Chell was being carried by her mother, Her mother often unwittingly passed through radioactive areas. This did not overly damage Chell's development, like many babies and children in the new world, she was born with a discolouration to her hair, skin and eyes. Giving her the silvery white hair, slightly lighter skin tone and silvery grey eyes. However, when Chell was born, and for the first night of her life, she spent this time near a radioactive area. While the radiation was not a problem, the smoke from what she can only assume was debris, travelled her and her parents way. While her parents just suffered a soar throat and some light headedness, The damage to Chell was to be much more significant. Her vocal cords became inflamed, and their growth was damaged severely. For most of her life Chell has only been able to make Raspy Gasps for Breath as any real way of speech. Only recently has she been able to start talking... but no more than a few words.
To combat this, And by stroke of luck, Chell learned how to and that she could whistle. Her lung capacity had not been permanently affected, she could still breath just fine, allowing her to learn the 'bird calls'. Birds do not respond to these, as they are not a perfect mimic, however she can recreate enough to suite her task. High pitch and quick, Echoing and with silence between. That and if anyone else knows the call a message can be assigned to it, such as 'Retreat'.
Chell's parents like many people these days died fairly young, a combination of Radiation and the Environment took them when Chell was around 16, by which time she had met other survivors, and stayed with them until they eventually disbanded around the time Chell turned 19. They were called, The Fleur De Lis. And they were her family.
These days Chell normally travels the land, and works for the towns she stops in whenever they have jobs that need doing. She is an able farmer, mainly for planting and cultivating, but with some live stock experience... feeding them on time. She can handle minor construction, patching leaky roofs, repairing a fence. And is able to Read and Write, and is fairly good with numbers.
Fatal Flaw: Chell has damaged vocal cords from the toxins inhaled in her youth. A less prominant side effect is that Chell is the occasional victim of a 'minor' full body seizure. These seizures manifest themselves as sever 'shakes' all over Chell's body, while this on its own is not life threatening, it can make many aspects of life in the wasteland difficult.
