 Life Hunter
BATTLE ARENA
The portal opens up into an observation room, and down the stairs, an odd chamber for something like hunter training. At the center of a piranha-filled pool stands a solid stone table and several chairs. The Life Arena was built underneath the demolitions and ballistics testing areas, and the chamber rumbles with the occasional explosions above. Pinpoint red lasers sweep across the room regularly, as if hidden snipers are searching for a nice target. In the center of the table sits a wooden tower, made up of smaller wooden blocks. Yes. That's right. The Life Hunters prefer to train via Jenga.
Note: Distraction techniques and Yo Momma jokes are considered viable weapons when playing competitively.
If you fail: you have knocked down the tower! A small dart hits the back of your neck. You come to several hours later, and hope Dr. H didn't do anything to your body while you were unconscious. When you look into the mirror...
If you win: you have reached 50 points! You get a sharpie marker to do with as you please. peen points go to those with the highest scores.
Mechanics
- by carefully removing pieces of the tower, you earn points and advance to the next round. As the rounds continue, the odds grow steadily against you. Rolling a 1 at any point means you have knocked down the tower. Please do enjoy your mystery dart. Anything after reaching 50 points is purely for peen.
- you may roll pieces individually (suggested for group play) or in batches of 5 (basically, a full round.)

Bonus Mechanics

Nevada sighed as she exited out of the mist meeting. it wasn't that she hadn't done trainings but well...she hadn't done trainings beyond the mist one.
Part of her didn't like runic weapons, and though they offered temporary effects in the battlefield, It seemed wrong to use any other weapon then her own.
/It's because we've talked about this before..../
yeah we have. Leroy had become oddly more possessive of her since the time she lost her body to the Halloween creature. He didn't like others touching her...Well...He tolerated it more, but he disliked other weapons. Even in spars.
/You have to do it for new leader.../ He grumbled, /Since that other one messed us up. I will allow it so nothing bad happens./

Stormy had every intent to hole herself up in her room after the meeting, since that seemed to be the only way to shield herself from the odd looks she'd received. She'd made quite a bit of headway by the time Nevada's text rolled around.
Jenga. The one training mission she hoped to never do again. Her body had ached for days after the fact from how many tranquilizers she and Lucky had taken . . . But saying no would be rude, regardless of her almost overwhelming need to just curl up in bed.Quote: Text to Nevada:Sure, on my way
She entered the labs and found the correct portal, bracing herself for what was probably going to be a painful experience, one way or another. "Nevada?"

Nevada of course had gathered things to bribe her friend with. On her trip with Solomon and Alaska to the grocery store, She managed to grab a Disney princess coloring book and crayons and markers and CANDY.
All of these things were piled in front of the mist huntress when Stormy came to her.
"Stormy..." Nevada waved her over to the table, pushing the goods to Stormy's side before the Jenga came up. "I brought you gifts for your trouble of helping me with this!" TA DAH, SORRY SISTER SHE WAS MAKING YOU DO THIS.

Nevada's voice seemed to be coming out of a tin can far away. She stared at the pile of goods for a good seven seconds before she remembered she wasn't supposed to be feeling giddy about being in this particular exercise.
"AHHHHHHyoudidn'thavetobutohmyGodAHHHHHHHH--" Unabashedly Stormy flailed her way over to give her bestie a strong hug, like they had won the lottery instead of scored products normal people didn't bat their eyes at. "Thankyouthankyouthankyou~"
She pulled away before Nevada could get crushed, grinning brightly. "Ready to be all Lifey?"

"Well its just small stuff after all the grocery shopping...." She flushed, realizing that it was well...it was a small joy after all. Somewhere deep inside her, it didn't hide the guilt or shame that she had sold Aria out or that she had YET to tell her bestie but...

"It's never just small stuff!" she protested with a pat to Nevada's shoulder as they headed to the Jenga tower. "Know why? Because it comes from a big heart~"
Settling across from Nevada, Stormy frowned with concentration and plucked not one but three pieces at a time (just because she could, and because maybe this would make the training go by faster instead of horribly). "So that's what you wanna specialize in?" she asked curiously. "Isn't it mostly just . . . paper work and stuff?"

Terrible
Nevada frowned as she followed Stormy's suit, removing three pieces at a time.
"It's a lot of paperwork, but I'm really interested in studying FEAR and INSANITY more..." She took out the last piece and then turned to Stormy, "As a Mist, they don't even know I'm there really, and I've been picking up little odd snippets of information here and there."

She nodded in understanding. "That stuff can get a bit confusing, yeah . . . Hope you don't mind if I bug you about it in the future then!" Stormy chirped. Her split second distraction had her choosing the wrong tile, and she made a surprised noise as a dart flew into her arm.
Yup, bad memories of this course. Lots of them.
Pulling it out with a wince, she carefully chose another piece to slide out. "What sort've stuff have you picked up?"

"Always Bestie. What I learn, I shall pass to you to further the safety of mist hunters." She didn't even want to think of the hypocritical aspect of this statement. Had she not told Lance that Aria was working with Halloween, Nevada would've undoubtedly learned more about FEAR and Insanity then the Island could offer.
She heard the stick of the dart in Stormy's arm and looked over, "You okay?" Her hand slid out the last piece, the jenga tower replacing itself with another for the next round.
"Just small things, Horseman are on the move. We're losing more outpost then we're suppose to. Halloween is getting the advantage over us with each ones destruction." "I'm fine," she assured. A little woozy, but fine. "Life training's never been kind to me. Ms. C had to help me diffuse the bomb during the Mist Taken Tower . . ."
As if on cue, Stormy chose wrong a second time and yelped as another dart nipped her back. She tried to surreptitiously pull it out as she listened to Nevada, her frown growing at the news. "So that fight with Aria talking about multiple posts going out at once wasn't an exaggeration . . ." And here she had thought the horsemen had been keeping quiet for the most part. Maybe that was her ignorance talking. "What did he say?"

Stormy sucked in a breath. "No, I've just never been good with steady hand stuff," she replied sheepishly. Eying the Jenga tower carefully, she slid a piece out and sighed when she wasn't punished with a final dart.
"Don't worry about me, though. So, what did Lance say?" she asked again, because the deets, Nevada, the deets.

"If I remember right, He said the outpost were set up for Fear excavation and then....Multiple locations went down at one point." She looked at the pieces carefully, a cool poker face replacing her usual lazy smile.
"It's like he said at the meeting though, It looks like Aria was behind it. With her involvement with Halloween, they systematically took out outpost all together..."
She looked over at Stormy.

She mulled it over through the haze of tranquilizers running through her system. "It's still hard to admit she was part of that," Stormy mumbled as she picked out pieces one by one and set them away. "She said something had been going on there, though . . . What did Mr. Lance mean by Fear excavation?"
