Name: [Warren]
Race: [ leaf/wind ]
Gender: [Male.]
3 Base Traits: [Intimidating,Aggressive,Forsaken]
Personality: [Warren's build and appearance are intimidating and he uses it to pick fights get people to leave him alone. there is still a part of him that believes his mother was right about his eyes and he is some kind of beast to be feared. perhaps subconsciously he acts ferocious to fit his mother's fears, so that if he truly was a monster her act of leaving him would be justified and he could forgive her. His abandonment by his mother has lead him to alienate himself from members of his tribe and frighten or push away everyone in his life but his father Kendov.

He is full of energy and loves to test his strength through fighting and lifting and what ever else. he is very proud of his strength and is always looking for a challenge or someone to challenge him. He has heard many stories of how strong the Alkidike warriors are and he wishes to spar or fight with one one day. He wears his hair in dreads as a way to egg them on (he heard they hate it when earthings have dreads). Others would call him reckless but he is confident in his grappling skills, and wouldn't turn down a fight with an alkidike even if it meant he would lose.

as much as he likes fighting, he doesn't kill for fun. He would much rather beat an opponent and have them come back later so he can fight them again. This, understandably has not gained him many friends, and he thinks he is better off without. Warren fears abandonment so severely that he refuses to make solid connections with anyone. He doesn't want to get attached just to be abandoned again. ]

Description: [ He keeps his hair in dreads for low maintenance and ties them back to keep out of his face for practical reasons, he also keeps them that way to tempt the Alkidike and look intimidating to the other earthlings. (He wants to pick a fight with one of them to test his fighting skills).

Has sharp chiseled features, high cheekbones, defined jaw and chin. He is also very built and muscular. Hair is brown and rough spiky crystals cover his shoulders and back, the crystals appear sparcley on his cheekbones and the tops of his hands and feet and are pinkish in color. His ears are short but pointed (combo of wind and leaf ears) and gauged in both lobes. His eyes are a gold color, but the whites are a disturbing black/grey color. (this is possibly a weird form of ocular melanosis, but his mother and grandfather think it is because he is cursed) ]

Clothing: [He isn't very skilled in making his own clothes so the one pair of pants he does own are very worn and have holes in the knees. pants that once did not fit him are now tight on him. His pointy shoulder crystals make wearing shirts troublesome so he goes without.]

Accessories: [He carries an arrow shaped necklace, it is part of a set of three that all fit together (sort of like friendship charms) his looks the same as his fathers, and they both fit into the one owned by his mother. It was supposed to represent how they would always be together, but sinces his mother abandoned them, it also symbolizes his pain and hate for his mother.]

History: [His Mother Ah'Brii from the nomadic Wind Tribe and his Father Kendov'Tah of the Leaf. ]

His mother and father met as travelers, Kendov traded with Ah'Brii's caravan for essentials and supplies. They saw each other regularly and developed a relationship. Kendov always thought she was beautiful and she grew to love the rugged man as their relationship grew.

Kendov was an Aldebuk herder, and started traveling with Ah'Brii close to the caravan's usual route so he could spend more time with her and she could still be close to her tribe and family. Her father Nitoh was very important to her and she wanted to stay very close to him.

Nitoh was more traditional and wasn't fond of Kendov, he wanted Ah'Brii to marry someone from the wind tribe so she could stay close to him. he hated that his little girl was growing up and moving away. Nitoh, because of their closeness, had a lot of influence over Ah'brii and discouraged spending so much time with Kendov. this made her relationship with both her father and kendov strained at times. but when Kendov proposed marriage she couldn't say no! After seeing how happy his daughter was Nitoh gave in to Ah'Brii's wishes and approved of their wedding.

a little more than a year after they were joined Kendov and Ah'Brii were pleased to discover they were with child. during her pregnancy Ah'Brii spent most of her time at home with her father so as not to strain her by traveling. Kendov still had to move the aldebuk from place to place and keep up with trading routes, so he wasn't around much for the pregnancy and even missed the birth. Kendov was able to see his child a few days later and was a little shocked to see his condition.

Warren was born with unusual eyes, Nitoh was superstitious and blamed his grandson's condition on the "spirit of the Dread Wolf" an ancient vicious and legendary creature. Nitoh used this as an excuse to justify his dislike for Kendov and told Ah'Brii that the child would only bring ill fortune.

Ah'Brii was was understandably appalled by her father's reaction. How could this have happened to her? He was born of love, why would he be cursed. But her father was relentless in trying to convince her to abandon the child, and as she looked into the dark unsettling eyes of her child she started to think maybe Nitoh was right.

When Kendov finally arrived, Ah'Brii did not seem thrilled to see him. She told him something terrible had happened and that their son was cursed. Kendov didnt want to believe it, but when he saw his sons eyes his heart sank. they were.. odd, he hadn't seen eyes like that in any earthling and did resemble the eyes of a predator. but he assured Ah'Brii that if they raised him with love, they couldn't go wrong and that their son would be fine, dread wolf or not.

The couple raised the child together despite Nitoh's warnings, but Ah'Brii was never the same. She never looked into warren's eyes even while she tended to him and fed him. she rarely smiled and always had a sad, uneasy look on her face. Kendov was frustrated with Ah'Brii's behavior and tried to show her that he was still normal, that they still had a kind and loving son, and didn't treat Warren any differently.

For seven years they were together, and for seven years not once did she look into the eyes of her child for fear of the dread wolf that she believed lived within her son. And then suddenly without warning Ah'Brii left with nothing but a note to Kendov saying that she will no longer live in fear of the child and wants nothing more to do with him.

Kendov felt betrayed and heartbroken. He tried several times to write her and even traveled to her father's home a few times but was forbidden from entering and was even threatened.

Warren and Kendov were not allowed to see Ah'Brii or Nitoh and the other tribe members were advised to shun them. This essentially cut off Kendov's trade with them and was forced to move his aldebuk herd farther south.

Ah'Brii always warned Warren about the beast inside of him and feared him. Warren understood why his mother left, and being so young, he believed he was a monster and a danger to the people around him. He had nightmares that a beast was clawing and biting at the inside of his chest trying to get out. One night he went to his father with tears running down his face. He shook Kendov awake and told him that he feared for his father's safety, and didnt want to hurt him, Warren told his father he should leave him and stay far away.

Kendov held the troubled seven year old to his chest, close to his heart, and told him. "Warren there is nothing wrong with you! You are the best thing that ever happened to me, your mother doesn't understand how precious you are" he said with tears in his eyes, "and that breaks my heart"

(growing up-present)
Kendov continued to raise Warren with love and taught him the skills he would need to know as a man and aldebuk herder. He emphasised the importance of love and life and how all things have spirit and energy and needed to be respected.
But despite his father's efforts, Warren would not grow up without getting into a bit of trouble.

Warren no longer believes he has a wolf spirit inside of him, but he wishes he did. maybe then his mother's abandonment could be justified and he could stop hating her. Warren is mostly quiet when he is herding with his father, but he has to much energy and gets bored easily and is tired of herding. to combat his mountain of energy he expends it on working out by running, lifting, wrestling and chopping wood. He is especially thrilled when a predator is stalking or hunting the herd. If a large predator gets too close he thoroughly enjoys pouncing it and beating it into submission or retreat.

Warren is eager to fight and test his strength and skills. Herding is definitely not is ideal profession, there isn't enough excitement for him. He loves his father and respects the man and his profession, but as a prentice Warren is looking for a change of path.

He wants to find someone to train under so he can become a guard with the intent of becoming a berserker. he never liked to use weapons all that much (except maybe his woodcutting axe) and is much happier fighting with his hands.

His name is borderline, but I like it, so I'm going to say it's fine lol

And I like his reasoning for having dreads lol, very nice :]

Now onto the harder stuff:

Wind earthlings have blue eyes and leaf earthlings have green eyes, so where is the yellow coming from? Does he have an ice member in his family? Or is it a side effect of the melanoma or something?

Does the ocular melanoma effect his eyesight at all, or is it just a color change?

Tendaji doesn't have wolves persay, so having a spirit of the Dread Wolf is a little weird. Would you be opposed to changing the name to an animal that exsists in Tendaji (or make up a name for an animal that could live on Tendaji)? The closest animals to wolves in Tendaji so far are the Witu (which are more like hyena-based), or you can go with something more ferocious like the Sermal (feline ancestry), Drund (komodo dragon ancestry), or Weywa (bat-bear hybrid animal). Or like I said, you can make up some other name you like better for a new animal.

Besides that, I can't really find anything necessary to point out. He's pretty well thought out and sounds great, so I'm excited to see him in action heart

Well i would be fine with changing his eye color to maybe a light blue or green color, and i forgot to include, a side effect of his eyes is that they give him painful headaches and bright light can worsen the effect. so he has some light sensitivity so during the day his eyes will be squinty xD

Yeah i was thinking of make up some legend to go with it but hadnt gotten to it. it just basically has to be a big predator i just preferred something that resembled a wolf. the idea was that the actual creature (weather or not it actually existed) would be long dead or extinct by now and was simply legend. but its spirit would still occasionally possess animals and even earthlings. perhaps it could be some sort of ancestor to the Sermal of Sauti.
maybe instead of "dread wolf" i could give the creature an actual name and then write up a legend about it?

I assume that you want to make the art of his prentice stage, so I'm going to leave the specific color up to you, but you can use any range of green or blue, so even an almost-yellow green is fine with me if that's what you want :] (If you're not planning on drawing him, then when the time comes you'll need to be more specific, but I think that buff guy you applied with was Warren, right?)

And I like the side effects emotion_awesome

And you can most definitely come up with a legend and name and things. We have Folk Lore contests during events, so it's encouraged to write them.
When you have it, you can just submit it whenever it's done and if it's approved it'll be posted in the Tendaji Legends thread. :}
(doesn't have to be during a contest)
