The first night was a cold one. Icy little snow pellets fell from the sky this night, and why he had decided to go out, Avior couldn't say. Maybe because it was cold and snowy. Maybe it was the hope he didn't really have to encounter anyone on this cold, chilly knight. His leaders would understand that, right? He wasn't like the older members of the Dark Mirror Court. Just because he was in a new faction didn't mean he was going to forgo his education! Not that he had started just yet. But might as well point it out now!
Alone he stood on the snow covered walkway through a more dense part of of the park that was near his new home. Between his fingers moved a small shard, one that was gifted to him upon his defection. A peculiar little piece it was, glimmering in the faint orangish light that this cloudy snowy night seemed to provide. Inside of it was supposedly some sort of energy being, one that had the ability to drain the life force of something of the sort from another entity. The memory of his own draining by way of such a thing was still pretty clear, and as scary as it seemed, to be attacked by such a thing, atleast they didn't try to kill him. And it didn't hurt that he could remember. It was like the feeling after swimming for far too long, just utter exhaustion.
Yet they were frightening still. They were hardly controllable, from what he had seen so far. They went about their duty, only performing the tasks they were born to do. No companionship was offered from the wraiths that hid within the shard, making the idea of patrolling that much more of a lonely sounding experience.
Of course, it wasn't always so lonely. Infact.. There was a presence nearby. A weak one, of course. No, it would be rude to call the presence weak. It was a young one. Like a fresh hatchling just beginning in it's ways of this war. And it felt so comfortable, familiar in a way that all of the DMC seemed possess. Without a second thought Avior made his way to the new aura he felt, slipping the shard back into his pouch, the pouch back into his apron. The person's form came into view, and a hand went up in the air, waving at them, not quite frantically, but coming close.
"Hey there!!" No matter how much had changed since his time as just a normal senshi, back at the very beginning, it seemed that he managed to keep his cheery nature, even if it had been damped for a while.
"Hey, hey, Hello! I'm Avior! You must be another Dark Mirror Senshi, right?"
ChibiGingi I wasn't sure if this is a Sparring session or a meet and greet! XD

Little by little, Sailor Canopus was growing accustomed to the new world she found herself in. Perhaps not in the literal sense, as this was still Earth, her home and sanctuary, and this was still Destiny City with its twinkling lights and busy-body rush of people. But things had changed, or rather, she had changed. She was more aware of what went on beneath the blanket of deceit, though even then she had a feeling that she was only scratching the surface. She was told of the enemy and their allies, and she was informed of the Negaverse, another shady agency in which they once held an alliance with, but Canopus had not seen hair nor hide of either factions, and for now, that was alright.
She was still in training, and she so desperately needed guidance, though she didn't wish to be a burden on Prince Remarque. He had so many duties to attend to and she didn't dare seek to add to his troubles. So, as foolish as it might have been, Canopus walked the streets alone, roaming within familiar territory as it was here where she met Rhys and Remarque, as well as the travelling duo of Tantalus and Damocles. Perhaps she could call upon them for help? Though, they've already done so much for her already...
No, she'd do this alone, if she had to. She didn't want to. But if it must be done, then Canopus would simply have to wing it. Her classmates said she lacked confidence and the best way to bring that up would be to just step boldly forward, so that's exactly what she did. She took one step forward, and immediately she was welcomed by a familiar sense. A tingling sensation in the back of her mind, warning her that there was another like herself here. Whoever they were felt strong... not her dear Prince Remarque strong, but strong never the less. Immediately, she sought it out, and it wasn't long before she was rewarded. She looked to the other senshi as he introduced himself, and as eager as she was moments ago and meeting another like herself, her throat clenched and her mind suddenly remembered just how pathetically shy she was at first meetings.
He seemed just as eager for company as well from how lively his waving was, and all Canopus could manage was a small wave, immediately put to shame in comparison to his own. That did not mean she was any less happy to see him, and her smile was small, soft, but warm in its own way. He seemed to bright and vibrant, despite the dark tint to his clothes, and for a moment, Canopus wished she could have just a fraction of that energy she felt from him. "Hello, Avior. I'm Canopus, Dark Mirror Senshi of Longevity... it's nice to meet you."Cooro Cooro Either or is fine with me! We'll play it by ear and see where it goes.

Oh. She was a shy, quiet one, wasn't she? No matter! Fate enjoyed bringing all sorts of people to for him to meet! And besides, being quiet might be an indication of how she views the world around them. Maybe she wasn't as much as a punch first kind of person, which would be brilliant, which would mean they could get along.
"It's quite the pleasure to meet you as well, Canopus! I think you are the first one of our Court that I have met since my defection. I didn't quite tell you my sphere right away, did I? Mine's kinda lame, in relation to how yours is. Yours is a concept that can be.. Applied many things. Mine's just Walls, plan and simple. Putting them up, breaking them down, but mainly putting them up." Hopefully his little joking wasn't making things awkward just yet. There was no reason for that, right?
"So what are you doing out here tonight? It seems very empty here. I think I blame the cold. Are you cold?"

Though shy and quiet, Canopus was always happy to meet new people, especially when they appeared nice and friendly like this one had. There was something about him that she found nice and warm, though that might have just been his attire that gave that impression, or maybe even just his smile. Yes, he seemed like a friendly person and his warm introduction did well in confirming this in her mind as it was contagious.
Until, of course, he said the words defection, and while she did not immediately fear the other senshi, she did tilt her head in obvious confusion. What did he mean by defection? It was a little unsettling, but she held her tongue for the moment, listening to Avior speak, taking in everything he had to say even when it might have appeared he was rambling. Avior, senshi of Walls. Canopus knew much about walls and often enjoyed remaining behind the walls of St. Magdalena's, enjoying its shelter even when it left her ignorant of the dangers that lurked just outside in the city. She rather liked walls, though it seemed Avior might not have felt the same. Was that the definition of irony or was she over thinking the matter?
It took her a moment to realize that he asked her a question, and she replied softly, speaking quickly in hopes he wouldn't notice her hesitation and think ill of her for it. "I'm on patrol. Though, there's not much going on around these parts... which is just fine with me. And maybe a little, but I'll be alright. Thank you."
However, her mind would not ignore that burning question, and as hesitant as she was to pry into another person's business, she could not stop herself from asking. "Um... Avior... what did you mean? By defection?"

"Patrol.. Patrol for what? Is there something you're looking for? I never really understood what patrolling was for, I mean, we're not like hunting youma, or fighting negas like the White moons do. We gather energy, right? I guess, for me, I'm out here looking for more people like me. More Dark Mirror Senshi. And look, I found you! Or we found each other, I don't know , but it makes me feel very accomplished. As long as you don't get sick, you know." The more and more he spoke, the more he smiled, excited and exhilarated that he was successful in his mission. Canopus came off as someone who would be an excellent friend, as long as she was comfortable, so he wasn't going to be too pushy about things. Or atleast try not to be. Her question did not startle him at all, in fact, his expression relaxed from a thoroughly enthusiastic grin to a more reserved, patient smile.
"Yeah, I was originally part of the White Mirror Court, but I just felt too out of place there, learned about their own special brand of darkness that I just couldn't handle anymore. I was alone, and lost for such a long time, then our sweet prince took me by the hand and allowed me to go to his side. And for that, I came out stronger than I could have ever imagined. It's not like the White Moon Court is terrible. They are blinded, as was I, but now I've found my family, and the real court that I belong to. The all in all, the story completely delving into why I changed goes much deeper than that, but Our Prince's hand was what lead me so very gently though those mirrors, and that's what's important!"

This one had such a strong voice box and he exercised it regularly, it seemed. Canopus stood there, listening to every word he said and taking in his excitement, patiently waiting for there to be an opening for her to speak, though she didn't want to speak. He sounded so vibrant and lively and warm, whereas she was certain her voice would fall flat in comparison. It wasn't that she was turned off by his excitement- she simply didn't wish to insult it, so she stayed silent for awhile.
"I suppose," she started softly, hesitant at first but gaining some strength as she kept herself talking. "I'm just patrolling for energy and making sure that the park was safe from our enemies. That's all... it's nice to see a friendly face, though."
Again, she listened to his tale, trying to keep the gnawing fear in her heart down when she realized that he was once part of the White Moon Court. Their enemy. It was no surprised to hear that it was Prince Remarque that took him in, and suddenly, any fear she might have had with this senshi was quelled. Remarque accepted her when she admitted to having little strength and no knowledge of the wars, and if accepted this former White Moon senshi into their court, then who was she to question him? He thought him to be worth saving.
"I'm sorry you were led astray for so long," Canopus said once he had grown silent enough for her to consider it safe to talk, and she rubbed her arms against the cold and smiled at him. "I can't imagine what it was like for you. To be so lost and alone with such a group... I'm sorry, I didn't mean for that to reflect poorly on you. I'm sure you're strong and capable, since Prince Remarque saved you and all... I'm sorry."

"Enemies? What enemies do you have? Has someone wronged you already?" That was a curious thought, to be honest. Who exactly was there enemy at this point? Certainly anyone who wanted to get in their way of achieving freedom from the Earth, but did that automatically make anyone who crossed their paths enemies?
"I agree! Patrolling and energy gathering can seem like such a lonely task, it is very welcoming to see someone." His mind thought back to his roommate Bjorn, who so graciously took him out on his very first energy gathering back when he was still part of the White Moon Court. Avior would be the first to admit he missed the massive man's company, his warmth, and the safety that just radiated off of him whenever he was close, but he could not ask the other to continue on helping him with his own tasks. Though friends they may be, they both had their own jobs to attend to.
"There's no need to apologize, none at all. It was frightening, yes, but I'd like to think that I'm better for it, if only by the way that I was able to experience what happens on the other side of the so-called war. There must be so many other's who were just as lost and lonely as I was, so that's all the more reason to try so hard to get some of the other Senshi to join us. We don't need to be all alone, there's a place for everyone here, they just need someone to show them the way, right? I think We should be those guides, to the past that ends with our Prince." He paused for a moment once more, fondly thinking of his Prince, and his desire to just cling to his side, to be reassured that he was useful, and that he was wanted, but that was not his place. Not yet.
"Are you certain you are not cold? I see nothing wrong with admitting so, I'm a bit chilly myself. I was thinking about grabbing a hot drink before heading back home for the evening, if you'd like to join me. That would also imply powering down first, which I'm just fine with as well. "

She tilted her head, obviously confused at his own confusion. Did he not know who the enemies were? Was he not once a part of them? She was quickly becoming confused, and uncomfortable, and she couldn't hide as she stepped away, speaking even softer than before. "No... maybe not... but if they mean harm to my prince or my court, then... are they not my enemies?"
He seemed eager to move on and once again his energy and enthusiasm was at its peak, though this time, Canopus wasn't so quick to join him, though it was no fault in anyone but herself. He was so confusing to her, or perhaps she simply lacked something within herself in order to understand him? That seemed more likely, but she listened, nodding her head in agreement when she simply had nothing else to say. She was afraid to say anything else, really... she might say something that'd drive the confusion and awkwardness even deeper, so perhaps it was simply best to say nothing at all and be an outlet. At least with Avior, it was a positive outlet.
"Then it's up to us to enlighten them," Canopus said, finally overcoming her temporary verbal paralysis and bobbing her head firmly. "Let them know that they're always welcomed here. I'm sure you can give them a strong case, when I cannot..."
Lead by example. Avior seemed to be the perfect idea of this. He was proof that they could turn away from the misguided tyranny of the White Moon, and though she wasn't sure how, she would help him. Somehow, she'd help everyone.
His question startled her from her brief reverie, and she hoped that she wasn't so cold that her blush would be much more noticeable than normal. "Oh... I'm fine, really. My feet are more cold than anything else... having open toed sandals like this might be good for the spring and summer in Destiny City, but not so much the snow. But... a warm drink does sound nice."

"With this area as secure as it seems then, I think it would be alright to power down and finish up for the night. I can assume we're both still kinda new to these things, so little by little we'll work our way up to patrolling for longer, right? And don't worry about giving the best case, it's when you share how you earnestly feel without trampling over other's beliefs, is when things change. I don't want our Court to come off as terrifying and violent like the Negaverse is. We stop, we listen, and we react appropriately, patiently. Atleast that's what I believe we're aiming for." That was his last thought before he gave a nod and stepped back, powering down to reveal a short boy with thick rimmed black glasses and a rather warm looking pea-coat.
"I'm Nischal, and it's a pleasure to meet you. I'd love to treat you to some coffee, if you'd like to join me. There's a nice little shop right around the corner over there that's open late. I guess that's a cool little tidbit when it comes to being a powered person who patrols at night. You find the coolest little places that stay open late. There's another candy shop on the other side of town that is wonderful as well, and it stays open late as a milkshake bar too!"

She listened closely to what he had to say, and if there was ever any doubt in her heart, it was chased away by his words. Perhaps she was wrong to use the word enemy when referring to the White Moon Court? She truly didn't mean them harm and she couldn't imagine what she would do when confronted by another that sought to do harm to her, but if anyone tried to hurt Avior, or any member of their court... she glanced down at her hand for a moment, fearing whatever magic might be residing in them and when she would have to inevitably use it. Until then, Canopus could only continue to try to approach each situation with a calming patience, and hope that they'd listen to reason. Whatever may come from it.
Canopus gave Avior an approving nod, any hesitation she had about powering down so early was quelled by his confidence in the matter. He was so kind and warm, and it almost made her angry to know that the White Moon Court had wasted such a nice young man. But for what they squandered, she knew her Prince's court would not, and that was enough to quell any amount of anger she might have held, as she gave him a smile and powered down. She was back in her St. Magdelena's uniform and immediately the bitter cold that assaulted her legs and toes was quelled with black stockings and snow boots, much to her relief.
"And I'm Bethany." She said with a small genuflect. She was never invited to a coffee or treat run, or anything, really, that had nothing to do with charity events, so she tried to hide her blush as she addressed him. "I'd like that. I like milkshakes..."

Nischal couldn't have been more happy when he saw that the girl did, infact, power down with him, pleased that not only did she trusted him, but now she was possibly warmer as well!
"It's an absolute pleasure to meet you, Bethany. Now lets see about taking it easy for the rest of the night! Now.. If we want to get milkshakes, we'll have to go ahead and make our way through the park that way." He pointed down the path that lead deeper into the park, into the dim lights that reflected off the snow in the slightest of ways. On a normal night, for normal people, he wouldn't have dared suggested to go such a path. But they were both powered, both strong in their own rights. They would be just fine. And with that, he started to walk that way, making sure that Bethany kept up with him, side by side, not one infront of the other. They were both equals in his mind.
"Is that a.. Uh.. A St. Mag's Uniform? I've never really spoken to many people from there. All of my new friends as of late have been those who have graduated from any sort of school a while back. If you're still there, that means we might be around the same age too! I'm actually attending Meadowview, but haven't quite made any friends there. From my old life, to a new one.. It's kinda hard to adjust right away." Despite being a bit on the dark side, the park was quiet and peaceful, pleasant even. If only it could always be so, if only there could never be any fighting going on.

Bethany may have been eager to please and help, but she definitely understood the notion of taking it easy. She gave Nischal a warm and polite smile, before looking towards the path he pointed at. It looked dark and foreboding, and Bethany couldn't help but admit that her heart tried to pick up the tempo in fear at the thought of venturing towards such a place, but with Nischal that and the ability to transform should there be danger lurking, it was easy to swallow back the fear. She walked at his side without a word, content to make the trip in silence if her new friend so desired.
However, he seemed eager to chat, and Bethany had no problem with this either. After all, what would be the point in walking with company if neither one spoke to one another? "Yes, I attend St. Magdalena's Seminary. I'm a junior, so I have another year and a half before graduation."
She had heard of Meadowview and smiled fondly, as she said, "It's a nice school. I'm sure you'll meet many friends with your outgoing personality. Just give it time."
Then, she added, "And you know you always have friends within the Dark Mirror Court, right? Though, we're more akin to family, than friends… but I think family can be considered friends?"

"Ah! It's the same for me, except that I may be a bit behind. Before I joined the Court, I was not enrolled in school due to the incompetence of my parents, so I am a whole semester behind. But no worries, I'll push through it all, even if I have to go to summer school, just to make sure I graduate on time. No matter if the goals of our court is to find our own world to live in, what use would that be if we don't have an education?"
Meadowview was a nice school, that's good to know! If the students there were to be cruel, he wasn't quite sure how'd he'd managed them. Never having been one to be bullied, if something like that were to occur, he'd be thoroughly unprepared.
"Family and friends, it's all the same to me. Both of which I would love for as long as they would allow me to. I wouldn't quite call myself outgoing, honestly. I'm always nervous, always pondering what others think of me, of what they perceive me as being. I guess I have an idea that I want to liked by everyone, even if that is impossible." They had reached a point in walking where it was pretty dark around them, going through the thickest part of the park, but it was comfortable and the air around them light. Or atleast that's how Nischal felt it to be.
"Oh! So, you said your name was Canopus, right? I just remembered where I've heard that name from! It's from Carina, the constellation. And Avior's from that Constellation as well! Ahhh, maybe fate brought us together this cold night for purposes we don't quite understand, but the very idea of having such a connection with you is far more comforting than you can imagine. It's like.. This change within me, from joining our court, has brought me a family I didn't even know I had. I feel so incredibly lucky, you know?" Nischal grinned goofily at the girl by his side. Sure, it may sound weird, but he genuinely felt this way.. How amazing was his fortune.. Joining the Dark Mirror Court was clearly one of the greatest things he had ever decided to do with his life!

Bethany didn't want to appear rude to her new friend and she feared that her keeping silent may have offended him as it did to others, but she simply didn't want to interrupt and was perfectly content to listen to another person's story, be it good or ill fated. She kept eye contact with him and bobbed her head every so often to let him know that he had her full attention, even when she didn't immediately speak up. Though, when she did, she tried to make sure it was worth something and wasn't just a pat on the back. "I can help you, if you'd like. I'm not the best student in class but I wouldn't mind helping out with study sessions… only if you're interested, of course. I'll understand if you're too busy, though…"
At least she put it out there. She was willing to help him out, both as a fellow member of the same court as well as a friend. It was the least she could do, right? His talk of family and friends made her envious, though she wasn't quite willing to admit that the only family she's ever known were the ones in the convent. She didn't want to dampen his spirits and thrust her problems upon him, so for now, she merely listened and absorbed. "Everyone wants to be loved by someone, though maybe you shouldn't get hung up on those that might not. Love them in return, of course, but don't change yourself to appease them… maybe their love isn't worth having if you have to change yourself to gain their approval. But love them… because maybe they feel no on else does."
She had to stop herself from getting too preachy- she had to remind herself that not everyone appreciated that kind of talk and she wasn't sure if Nischal was one of them, so she clammed up again. While he didn't seem immediately annoyed or offended, or even touched, by her words, he offered a good distraction, and it was certainly an enlightening topic to bring up. She hadn't done much research on her home star, so this was certainly new to her. And to see how happy it made Nischal, it was enough to make Bethany beam as well, tugging her ponytail subconsciously as she giggled. "Maybe it is destiny, then… that we find each other in the same Court. Perhaps Prince Remarque knew this and planned accordingly, or… maybe a higher being. That's certainly good to know that I'm part of such a welcoming court."

"Too busy? Not at all, Bethany. With no real friends, no family, no obligations as of yet besides to our Court, I'm all sorts of free. Well, I mean, we're friends now, so why not? I think study sessions would be amazing!" School would always come first in his civilian life, and if that placement also lead to the potential for more meetings with friends, then just how lucky was he then?
The talk of love tugged at his heartstrings as his mind wandered back to the one he had left behind. Not that Bethany's words directly applied to him; Scott had seemed to care for him exactly how he was. He didn't need to change anything about himself to be his friend, but with such decisions made, Nischal found himself losing him anyway. "I want to love everyone.. I want to leave a mark on a person so that maybe, even in their darkest hour, they could think 'There is one person I know who loves me. I know that they will be there when I call. They may not be the strongest, or the fastest, or the most cunning, but they are there.' As impossible as it seems.. Maybe that is becoming my new goal in life"
"I know of another who is part of Argo Navis. He is a.. I haven't seen him since I defected, but he was a White Moon Senshi who seemed to be just as confused about this war as I was. Naos, I believe. I think that the two of us, you and I, meeting together like this, under this circumstance, is simply a sign that says all of Argo Navis should belong to the Dark Mirror Court. If we can find him again someday, Maybe we could tempt him to join. Then again, I think he said he was going to find me first." The thickest part of the park was slowly clearing away, revealing a rather awkwardly placed shop just on the other side of the park's entrance. It's lights stood out in warm greens and yellows against the snowy ground, welcoming in all who seemed to notice the quaint little shop.
"That's the place right there. Though they mostly deal with candy, they have the best milkshakes I've ever tasted! And their burgers are pretty fantastic as well! I wish I would have found this place before I became a Dark Mirror Senshi. The one who was most important to me would have loved it, I think. It's truly a shame."
