Roman Foi Damir trecked through the piling snow, thankful that the flakes were falling gently down instead of the blizzard he was caught in earlier. He eyed the white terrain around him, pleading to spot a small bit of shelter now that the sun was making its way down. ~Kiana_Nala~ Charisma held her wings against her body, both to keep her warm and to keep them from blowing around. Her green eyes were turned to the sky as she trotted through the crunchy, white snow that covered the landscape. A smile stood proudly on her lips. Her hair had a few snowflakes caught in it but she didn't seem to mind. For what seemed like forever, the mare had been wandering the kawani lands in search of her family. The fact that they weren't related mattered very little to the mare. She felt protective of the family her friend had left behind although she hadn't officially met Hania's generation nor the ones that followed. "It's very cold today." Charisma said softly to the wind that lightly blew past, kicking up snow and the ends of her tail. Quote: Damir almost completely blended in with his surroundings, he noticed, so felt no need to be wary of travelers around. Besides, who else would be caught out in this? He scoffed, starting to slip and slide down a steep hill side. His father had hated the snow with such a passion, and he was starting to see why. He day dreamed of the way south as he made his way down, and was so caught up in his thoughts didn't see the root. Tripping, Damir yelped, rolling down the rest of the way. Luckily there were no sharp rocks or other matter to harm him, really. He did hit his head pretty hard, though, and felt slightly dizzy as he laid, groaning in the snow. Quote: Charisma turned her line of sight from the sky to what was in front of her. Thus far Charisma had encountered no one who seemed aligned to the darker side of life and felt confident that the area she was in was safe. Charisma wasn't naive to the world but she certainly didn't seek out the bad. She wanted to see the good in it instead. So when the stallion fell from, virtually the sky, she did inhale a large breath of air but didn't run away. Instead she ran towards the stallion laying on the ground moaning. "Oh dear!" Charisma said, extending her wings so that he would be protected from the falling snow and leaning over him to inspect his injuries. "Are you alright?" She asked softly, smiling warmly so he wouldn't feel threatened. Quote: Damir groaned more, stretching as he arched his back, not really aware of the mare quite yet. His ears were still ringing when he opened his eyes, and saw blond curls around his face. Adrenaline, again, sent a spike through his heart, and he jumped, scrambling from who ever was standing over him. His breath came in shallow and quick, but then he quickly realized it was just another mare, and he closed his pale eyes, taking in calmer, deeper breaths. Quote: A small laugh escaped from the mare as she watched his reaction and seemingly sense of relief. "Do not worry. I mean you no harm. It seems you suffered no broken bones." Charisma spoke softly as she slowly approached the stranger, making sure not to spook him again in case he was more injured then he appeared. "Let me see you." Charisma smiled warmly once more. Tightening her wings to her body. Quote: Her voice was absolutely beautiful, and the surprise played openly on his face. Well, he didn't know why he would have been surprised, really, but he eyed the mare again. Her voice matched her form perfectly. She was serene, and incredibly beautiful in the whiteness around her. He caught himself missing the words she said, while see spoke from his distraction. Shaking his head, he attempted to stand. He felt a blackness take his eyesight, and fill his head like thick, heavy water. Staggering at first, tt faded soon, like fog, and he found his balance. He looked to the mare, eying her a little more in detail, and nodded his gratitude for her concern. Quote: Charisma watched with a little bit of worry as the stallion rose and then wavered, she took a small step forward to help stabilize him if he should need it. Instead he seemed to stay on his feet and she smiled a little more brightly. When he nodded, she returned it and moved herself closer and began to inspect him. "You have a couple tiny scratches but no injuries that seem to require attention. Though I imagine you will be sore for some time." She told him. Charisma paused. Due to his unstable stance before she was worried he had a head injury. "I am a little concerned about the state of your head." She added, lightly touching him with the tip of one of her wing. After letting her eyes linger on his head they moved to his. "Are you staying some place nearby? Is there anyone who could look after you?" Charisma asked, not wanting him to be alone. Quote: Damir flenched from the touch, uncomfortable with personal space from someone he just met. Then it took him a second to catch up with what she said. His head? He scoffed. She could have been a little nicer about that statement. He hesitated at her last couple questions. He would have lied, normally. He could see the concern written all over her face, but he could feel... something, not to lie. He didn't want to lie--oddly. Even to avoid further inquiries he knew would come. He gave a very small shake of his head, indicating no. Quote: The males refusal to answer only confused her. It wasn't that he didn't answer, but he seemed to refuse speaking. This confused her and made her only more worried about the state of his head. With his answer that seemed to cement the idea she had. "Then I will have to look after you." She smiled and took a couple steps away from him, heading in the direction opposite of where they had come. "If you are not well enough I can support you." She offered, but already getting the feeling he'd rather collapse in the snow. "I am Charisma. I wish you no harm sweet one." She added, smiling again and once more trying to reassure him that he was in no danger. "I think it would be best to get you out of the cold and monitor you. You may have gotten a concussion or worse." This time her worried feeling showed on her face, only to quickly be absorbed into a smile. "Though I'm certain a strong stallion like yourself will be fine." Quote: Damir stood still, confusion swelling in his features. Take care of him? Uh, no. He was going to be perfectly fine. He shook his head, again, saying that wouldn't be necessary... but she indicated she had shelter. He gave pause, looking around the desolate terrain. It was very true he didn't have any to go... Decision made much easier, Damir pursed his lips, nodded, and began to follow her. Quote: Charisma lightly laughed, seeing the aura around him seeming to mimic the assumption she had made based on other males she had met in her life. "Are you willing to tell me how you managed to fall from the sky?" She asked, looking at him as she walked. He seemed to be weary of strangers in some fashion. She wondered why. "Have you ever met a angeni before?" Charisma asked, wondering how she could get him to see she was not harmful or anything like what he might be imagining. Quote: Damir noticed she also asked a lot of questions. He perked an eyebrow in her direction, before having to face forward again. He wasn't going to trip up again, especially on flat ground. He shook his head, grinning a little at his "falling from the sky." Ironic, given his father had the wind wings, where as he'd gotten nothing of the sort. The Unicorn part yes, which would explain possibly he was already healing--his head that is. As for the angeni part, he couldn't remember having met one before. He shook his head no, spying her wings a little bit more. Quote: She wondered if his lack of words was actually just shyness. Charisma assumed he would talk to her when he was ready and she wouldn't push. The nodding and shaking of his head were enough. "Angeni are some of the kindest creatures in the world and there of course a lot of lore behind them." She laughed lightly at her remark. "More then once I heard it was good luck to meet one." Charisma added, deciding she would let him figure out what she was on his own if he wanted to know. The pieces were starting to form anyways. Charisma turned her attention the sky for a moment, noticing the snow was falling a little quicker now. That seemed to signal that she should hurry with providing them with shelter. "It shouldn't be long now." She added, ducking underneath a lowered tree branch and entering a more densely forested area near a rocky back drop. Quote: Damir only watched with a polite expression, following slightly down from the mare, nodding when appropriate. She was a chatty cathy, that was for sure, but Damir hardly minded. Her singsong voice filled his ears happily, and kept his mind from wandering too far--which lately hasn't been pleasant. He could feel the soreness in some muscles as their walk continued, especially in his left shoulder. His blood seemed to pulse to his head harder and faster, causing shooting pain on the sides of his head, though little wonder why. He supposed to he fell harder than he realized. Quote: Charisma was thankful when they cleared the brush and low and behold there was indeed a small cave. It would at least keep them free from the snow and mildly warm. Her green eyes focused on Damir. "This should do. It just needs a little love." She said with a smile before walking to the edge of the brush. "This should be soft enough. . . Oh, this works well for cuts!" Charisma spoke softly to herself. After several moments the mare had a good sized pile of forestry in front of her, most of it being thistle branches and wet, broken branches. "I hope you are not adverse to some small discomfort." Charisma said, her eyebrow raising as if it was a question. Her attentions turned to the pile she had created and without further adieu she began pulling it into the cave. "How are you feeling now?" She asked, though it seemed like she was figuring it out all on her own based on how he carried himself. Quote: Damir quickly started mimicking what she was doing, wanting to be of assistance. He had planned on sleeping on the dirt ground, truly, but he was not going to be adverse to bedding if they could manage. Feeling his muscles protest, he wasn't sure how much comfort he was going to manage, on second thought. To her question he smiled a little and shrugged, knowing there was little to be done other than wait to heal. He was going to be perfectly fine, he knew. Quote: The stallions shrug and gentle smile eased the mare's worries. "Good." Her wings rustled at her side as she finished carrying in the last of the brush. "I think that should just about do it." She said, admiring the bed she had made in the cave. "You should lie down while I tend to your head." Ordinarily Charisma wasn't this talkative but considering how she had met the stallion she was using her words as a way to ease her own worry. It seemed to fill the silence left behind by the stallion. Not that she minded. Despite his quiet nature he seemed to fill the space with a warmth she couldn't quite place, it was a change of pace for her. "You have a. . ." The mare paused. "A very gentle nature." Her green eyes seemed to be looking into him, in a sense. A soft smile made it's way to her lips. "It's quite nice." Quote: Damir raised an eyebrow in question, about how she was going to manage to "tend to his head." He didn't really like the sound of that. He made a note to tread more careful in the future. He muled around, gathering what he could for a second pallet for himself, trying to find exactly what the other mare used for the first one when she eyed him... differently. He stood up straight and looked back, confused at first, that he'd done something to bother her, until her expression softened. It made him smile, as she smiled, and he nodded a thank you before continuing to build onto the nest. Quote: Charisma was a little to absorbed in the light aura she saw around him so when she realized what he was doing, she paused, then giggled. As she quietly approached him she shook her head, still lightly giggling. "Do not worry about another bed sweet one." She used one of her wings to gently touch his shoulder. "You are hurt, take the one I made and rest. I'll look after you." Charisma ushered him to the other bed that was fully made with her head. "You may have a concussion so it's best if someone's awake to make sure are out of danger." She added, realizing from his aura'a coloring that something wasn't right and it took her a moment to realize that he thought the one bed in the cave was a situation she hadn't intended to infer. Quote: Damir was fairly certain it was really bad idea to sleep with a head injury--besides, he wasn't about to be able to rest in a place he didn't know, with a mare he didn't know. She was a very kind mare though, and he liked that. He wasn't about to be rude on purpose. Instead he smiled politely and finished up the other pallet quickly before she could protest further. Thats when he noticed the snow was coming down much, much harder than it had been previously. The visibility was maybe two feet, and the wind was harsh and squealing. This was going to be a cold night. Quote: Charisma once more giggled and shook her head. It seemed he was a bit stubborn, not that it was a bad thing. As the wind and snow picked up outside the mare pulled her wings tightly against her body before looking around. It would be a good idea to get some water, just in case. Her green eyes scanned the cave. There was a possibility there was some water towards the back but would it be frozen? Deciding it was better to just let it go for now, the mare walked gracefully towards the front of the cave, allowing her wings to unfold and catch some of the falling snow. When she had enough she brought it back and threw it onto the thistles, save for a small junk which she brought over to Damir. "If this is too cold just let me know." She said, leaving the how's up to him. "This should help bring the swelling down." Charisma said, slowly applying the ice to his injured head. "It's very cold. I'm sorry." Quote: Damir shivered from the contact with the ice, but otherwise couldn't complain. Truly, it felt better on his skull. Stupid winter, he was never coming around here again. His father was right to stay in the summer lands. He wasn't sure what to do but stand awkwardly, avoiding eye contact with the mare that he still didn't know very well. She didn't even know his name. Sometimes he wished he was better able to communicate, but... well, he couldn't phrase. He had the ability, he supposed, but wouldn't. Thats how its always been.
