It had been a few moons since the little colt had run from his estranged bearwalker mother Howl, thrust into the forest he had only just begun to understand the inner workings of. It was this, or be torn to shreds as he'd begun to realize...and as much as he was having a hard time adjusting to life on his own it was better than no life at all. So far, he'd tried to interact with other bear cubs he found only to be further chased off by their oddly irate mother.

He was only trying to play.... maybe see if he could have a nibble of their mother's fresh fish she'd left for her cubs.

Darkness had settled into the forest, and the colt was busy lipping berries from a bush partially hidden from sight. Even though under the temporary protection from his mother he'd learned nothing messed with him or her...it was a different story now and he'd seen many a scary looking predator out and about....plus the dangers of his mother finding him again. This of course wasn't so easy when he had this strange ethereal 'fire' emitting light from his eyes and flank...whatever it was. It never burned, but his mother was basked in the flames in a few spots so he'd never thought any different till he met other bears and began to wonder where their fire was.

Not that he really had time to try and find out before once again running for his life.

Pausing in his eating he felt his tummy grumble, a frown twisting on his little face as he wished he could try and catch a fish like his mother used to do...it was a little tastier and easier to eat than the horses she'd bring back and didn't make his tummy upset. Not that the berries and other things he ate did....it was just something about horses which of course left an unsettling feeling; but food was food and he'd of course try and eat whatever was put in front of him. A little sigh of air came out of his lips as his throat rumbled in a bear like whine, oh, what was a cub to do?
