It was a simple request sent via text message to his lead. Quote: Ms. Carr, I'd like a chance to test my abilities as a moon hunter against you in a spar if possible. Both offensive and defensive. If you have the time, I'm training on the grounds from 7-8 both today and tomorrow. I hope this is not too short of notice. If it is, please let me know when you might be available. He did try to be 'polite' and 'professional' though he figured he could have just as easily had said 'Hey Edith I want to see how long I can last before you hand my a** back to me'. His training had been focused off the battlefield for a while. Yet he'd never fully stopped. He'd never given up. But to risk his skill with others, his own track record as sporadic as it was, sending both hunters and trainees to the infirmary? It just seemed like a better course to ask for someone who he knew could beat him up to spar with him. So ask he sent the text, the cool island wind and morning mist on the training grounds giving the area it's normal quasi eerie feeling, Marcus wondered if he'd be sent to the infirmary for once.

The text back had him relax a bit. A whole day was a good thing. Only by the next morning his nervousness was back. He was going to sent to the infimary. He was going to ******** up. He was- 6:59 He was as ready as he could have been, weapon summoned, waiting for what he thought would be the inevitable. Marcus was just glad he'd remembered breakfast. At least he wouldn't die hungry.

Edith rolled up in a track suit with what appeared to be a breakfast burrito in one hand and a protein shake in the other. Swallowing the last of the burrito, which seemed a bit...blue on the inside, she greeted Marcus in her typical manner.
"Right, so are we doing this with weapons or without?" The leader's eyes scanned the area, pausing here and there as if taking mental notes.

When she arrived, Marcus wasn't sure what he expected. Blue breakfast burrito in the hands of his lead wasn't it but hey, he'd take it. She was there so it worked. "Uh... I've had enough knuckle sandwiches to last me a while. Was hoping for a weapons spar. Besides, it's how well I can hold up defending from FEAR based attacks that I want to see." He saw her looking around before following suit. "...Something wrong?"

Edith nodded as she followed along with his reasoning, but the question received a flat look. "What's the greatest defense, Hasan?"

He had to think on that one. The first reaction was a good offense, then he dismissed it in favor of a lack of fear- even if fear was a human reaction that aided in survival instincts. Dis rolled his eyes wondering just how well his hunter paid attention to what had been once told to him. "....Preparedness." Which you aren't. Oh ******** you. With pleasure."That's kind of an open for interpretation type question though." Marcus felt like he was digging his hole deeper.

"The answer, Hunter, is anything." A bat appeared in Edith's hand and then she was slamming it into the ground. The earth under Marcus's feet trembled and then shot up, caging him in from all sides.

Being suddenly caged in prompted two reactions simultaneously from Marcus. One- how did she do that? Two- ******** I just got trapped. The first could be inquired about at a later date, the second however, was to him a very easy fix- You beat the s**t out of it. Like a sun. Yes, because that's always the best solution to an obstacle isn't it? That really worked well on your 'relationship' didn't it? I never beat Cass. Marcus mentally wanted to beat Dis for even daring to suggest he might have. No, no you didn't, Dis replied, voice laced with sarcasm, you just decided to self depreciate and nearly kill yourself mentally. And as much as I enjoyed your tiff your mind is an awfully terrible place to be when all you do is worry and fret about her.Marcus didn't dignify the vampire with a response. "If it's anything, does that include sacrificing others?" He asked, bluntly with little warning. Oh yes, 'hello miss Edith i'd love to test my skills by the way is it morally alright to let other hunters be killed?' Gods you are really not thinking about anything today are you? Are you even listening to me?Marcus wasn't focusing more on hitting the earthen wall. HP: 60 DMG: 9

A blunt force slammed into the back of Marcus's head and a moment later the barrier was crumbling around the bat that had pierced through it to hit him. "Everything, Marcus."

being hit upside the head summoned tow emotions. One- Anger at pain Two- Disbelief he was still conscious given someone had just hit him upside the head. <********- uh-" He'd cursed and stopped himself, though a small part of him realized that Edith probably didn't give a rat's a** about his language. "How did you even do that-" I would recommend protecting your face. The vampire on this small occasion, was listened to, blade brought up to possibly keep himself from a black eye. The shoulder wasn't a place he'd been expecting her to target. She picked a good place, the spot earning a cringe of pain as his grip on Dis tightened. "That I have to use anything I can in order to accomplish my goal?" He swung upward, the curved edge of his blade down rather than skyward. HP: 41 DMG: 13- T2 Battle cry used
