► Rosemarie is a shy girl to begin with but once she gets to know somebody the girl is very friendly as well as helpful. Since she was little, Rosemarie was almost always alone which shaped her into being a shy kid from a very young age. But she was very much open to her older brother Alrich when he was around. But since her brother's death Rosemarie has once again been the shy girl and has kept away from most people and only opened up to her mother, but not even fully. Not many people have seen her an angry, but she can get an angry temperament when she is threatened by someone.

► Rosemarie Kyler was born into a military family, in the Shiganshina District. Her father was in the Garrisons as an Advance Team Specialist being an officer while her mother was in the Survey Corps as a specialist in the Research Department. The young red headed girl was almost always on her own because her parents were busy working for the military every day. But most times her older brother Alrich was there and kept her company. He was always looking after her, but some days he couldn’t handle watching over her. But then the dread year had come and the Shiganshina District was breached by the Colossal Titan. Her father was sent straight away to attack the incoming Titans that were heading into the district. Rosemarie and her brother were left alone in Shiganshina with just their father; due to the fact their mother was busy working in the Researching Department with the Scouting Legion. And right in front of both Rosemarie and her brother Alrich a titan was coming straight towards them, but thankfully their father got to them in time to distract the titan away from his children. Alrich heard his father say run and he picked up his sister and they started running towards the gate. But as Rosemarie looked back, she saw her father being eaten by the very same titan he had just protected the two of them from.
When Rosemarie and her brother Alrich arrived safely at Trost, their mother ran and hugged her children and was wondering where her husband was. Just when her mother asked that question Rosemarie broke down crying and her brother told his mother what happened to their father. Their mother started crying a bit as well but put up a strong front in front of her children saying that everything would be alright.
With the three of them now living in Trost for good, Rosemarie and her brother both were still shaken up from the whole ordeal of not seeing their father again. That was when both her and her brother decided to join the military. Their mother was set against it at the beginning of the whole idea but finally came to the realization that they were just like their father as well as she was when they were younger. When Alrich got the okay from his mother, he enlisted and joined the military, for the sake of protect his sister as well as to live up to his father. Just before he left to go to training, Alrich had turn to his sister and given her his ring, in order to make sure it was safe and for her to remember him by as he was away. But during when Rosemarie’s brother was training, both her and her mother got the worst news possible. Alrich had died during training in the mountains. Rosemarie and her mother had had another death in the family and it was tough on both of them. But they both worked through it. Rosemarie wore the ring from her brother on a necklace around her neck since the ring was too big for her to wear on her finger. The red headed girl then began to think about enlisting into the military once again, to be like her whole entire family. Her decision was made by her thinking about her death of her father which she had hatred for the titan that killed him right in front of her eyes. But she also wanted to learn more about the titans as well as protect humanity from losing the battle.
With her decision made, Rosemarie's mother had knew before that her daughter knew herself that she would want to enlist into the military, so as a present from her mother, she bought her a dark red scarf for her to wear to stand out against every other solider who would enlist. She also trusted her daughter with the two swords that had been in the Kyler family for a very long time. Rosemarie was shocked to say the least, she had only heard about these from her parents but she had never seen them at all. Rosemarie could only nod her head understanding that her mother was giving them to her because she trusted her daughter to use them, only in emergencies, and so far she hasn't used them once.
