Cybele had spent the summer happily… well, not frolicking, exactly, but existing comfortably in her light, flowy dress. Now it was winter and she was an icicle, which was unpleasant enough, but it also meant she couldn’t hunt. Well, she was so cold it was hard to focus enough on auras to track them down, at least, not that there seemed to be many around anyway. However, she could briskly walk around the park in an attempt to both find something to fight and to warm up. She was fairly certain that a long time ago, back when she’d first become a senshi, someone had told her she could put on a coat over her fuku, but of course she hadn’t remembered that before she’d headed out. Going back for one seemed like such a waste of time, though… she’d been out on nights colder than this before and hadn’t gotten frostbite. She started walking a little faster, though. NovaCracker I totally forgot to quote you back when I started this...

stari_maga That's cool! I'd wondered. smile Massalia hadn't powered in a few months - schoolwork, siblings, and civilian life kept him busy, but now, now he was free to inspect and explore, adjust to being a Chibi-Senshi and learn, and learn the young boy did, brown eyes big as he walked. Admittedly, Massalia didn't like how cold it was. Frost, ice, and late fall were unkind to short legs and no sleeves, and the boy was absolutely freezing, but he didn't complain, either. No, next time he'd ask Subra if maybe she'd like to go out with him, and go on a patrol. Not like he knew more, but he was there when she awakened and he adored her to pieces. For now, though, the child was patrolling, looking out for monsters, trying to keep warm, and making a game of exploring.

Finally, finally Cybele stumbled across something a little bit interesting. The aura was only Order, but it would still be a distraction from the cold. Besides, she needed to stop avoiding her own side... not that she'd necessarily been doing it on purpose. Usually, it seemed impractical to chat when there were monsters to hunt, but today... it seemed almost nice. A short walk later, she came across a senshi. The first thing she noticed was that he was shivering almost as much as she was. It was only a few seconds later, after she took a few steps closer, that she noticed how young he was. Not that that fact mattered in itself. It was just that she couldn't get sympathy about the Negaverse and how awful they were without explaining how they ate people's souls and probabally scarring him for life. "Hi," she said instead, smiling and waving as she got closer. "Wow, you must be freezing," she said, pretty cheerfully under the circumstances. "I know I am."

Massalia looked up at being addressed. The Chibi Senshi hadn't expected anyone out and about, but he smiled at the older senshi and nodded. She might understand it was cold, and nasty! "S-Yes ma'am." He paused, forcing himself not to lapse into Spanish. "Are you cold too?" He tilted his head, curiously.

“I’m Cybele,” she stated quickly, because the “ma’am” thing just made her feel weird, “And yes. I’m practically an icicle.” She said that like it was a bit of encouragement instead of … whatever it actually was, and her expression was pleasant as she took the last few steps towards him. Maybe she could help? She liked helping. “I’ve heard you can wear a coat or something, if you put it on after you power up, and I don’t know about you, but my outfit is the best in the summer, and yours looks like it will be, too.” It was nice to find someone with the same kind of outfit as she did someone who understood. A lot of the people she met had layers and layers of fur or leather, instead. Although it was a nice conversation starter, the weather was only interesting for so long. “Were you a senshi in the summer?” she asked as she did her best to get comfortable. If it was warmer, she probably would have sat, but as it was, she just stood there with her arms crossed, actively trying not to shiver.

"It is nice to meet you." Massalia smiled, the only warm on him. He thought, and gladly moved next to her himself, shivering a little uncontrollably. This weather was awful. "A little... It was nice. And the few times I powered was nice? But, I haven't henshined often, yet." Massalia nodded, sighing a bit and frowning. "I've been trying to do it more, so my best friend isn't lonely." He smiled. She was nice, and friendly. And this new senshi seemed to understand the cold.

"Nice to meet you, too," Cybele said automatically, but with a smile. Then, after a pause, she asked, "Your friend? Do you mean your real friend, or someone you met as a senshi?" To her they were mutually exclusive. Being a senshi was mostly business for her. It meant fighting and training and talking about sides, not friends. "It's good to team up, though," she said, glancing briefly away. "Nice?" she asked suddenly after a few seconds. Even if he understood the cold, he obviously didn't understand anything else. That was probabally good, though. "Do you know about the Negaverse and everything?' If not, she should probabally tell him.

stari_maga Going to assume he's had his run-in with Buddingtonite by now XD; "I met her 'fore she became a Senshi." And Massalia was smiles and warm. "Subra is my best friend." EVER. And at mention of the Negaverse, his little smile twitched, becoming a frown. His eyes went slightly darker, he shivered, and closed his eyes. "I.. Was trying not to think of that..." Massalia admitted softly.

"I know what you mean." Her voice, too, was quieter, softer. She looked at the ground, looking at the shadows on the ground. She felt more like an idiot than anything else, though. Again, they were similar. Again, he understood. So why had she brought up something even she didn't want to think about? For his safety, she knew. It was the kind of thing you needed to know to survive, but still. Later, she would hunt the Negaverse down for making him frown like that, but for now she, too wouldn't think about it. "We don't have to talk about that," smiling a little, awkwardly. "We can talk about... your friend. Are you looking for her?"

"Oh, I wasn't." Massalia's eyes spoke volumes about his gratitude to her for the topic change; the Chibi disliked the idea of discussing Negas, but... Subra? Always good. "No, she's not out tonight." Massalia smiled. "She's with her family." Warm. And safe. And warm. "They have a fireplace."
