Oh, how absolutely delightful! Skipping Stones could feel the life stirring within her- little ones! Of her own! Her step was not as springy and sprightly as it had once been, no, but the doe could not bring herself to feel any sort of sadness. She ached with the weight of her young, but... she was giving life to the world! Bringing forth little ones to see what the swamp had to offer! Skipping Stones wondered if Waterfall was this joyous, on this wonderful day.
Finding a particularly warm grove, with the sun shining and birds singing, Skipping stones paced the area several times and curled in a little spot. Yes, yes, this would do splendidly! Looking at her stomach, the acha doe giggled, humming gently to the life she possessed within.
Oh, this was all just so delightfully exciting!

Starburst walked silently through the canopy, following that low tugging in her gut that always inevitably led to an expectant parent. Her cheetah teeth were bared in a smile, which, if not for her obviously cheerful eyes, might look a little threatening. She found the source of the tug curled up on the ground in the sunlight and for a while, Starburst only watched the doe from the trees. The doe looked happy, and for that Starburst was glad. Walking to the edge of the branch she was balanced on, Starburst was free from the cover of the leaves and she cast out a greeting, "Congratulations!"

While Skipping Stones was startled by the approach of the big cat, she did not jump and flee from its presence. There was no malice in its step, no threat of a hunter. Rather, it felt like she was seeing an old friend. Uncurling just a touch, to sit more openly for the stranger, the acha gave a nod of welcome to the cat. What odd company she was keeping! Perhaps it was the love she was exuding, or simply the glow of her young yet to come. None the less, Skipping Stones was not going to refuse such fortuitous circumstances.
"Thank you so much!" She called in return, tail flicking in excitement. "I would get up to meet you, but I think my little ones need the rest!" She giggled here, pulling a hoof up to poke gently at her belly. Still, she hoped her guest didn't find her rude. Shifting again, trying to find a way to sit more comfortably, she gestured to the ground nearby with a smile.
"If you would be so inclined, I would love to share this grove with you. Please, sit!"

Dropping down with a nod, Starburst smiled, a flash of teeth, though it was hardly threatening. "Thank you!"
She approached, but did not step too close as to not scare the doe just in case. She sat down several tail lengths away, tail curled over her paws, before she saying, "I take it you're feeling well."

"Positively radiant!" She squealed with delight, very clearly handling the concept of motherhood well. It wasn't as though she was going to settle down and raise these little ones with Waterfall, gracious no! But to bring life into the world- and know what joy had been shared between her and Waterfall- what a great memory it was! And to know these lives would affect others, what a joy! Humming in delight, her attempt at a song dissolved into giggles of delight. How many would there be, she wondered?
"Ohhh, motherhood is incredible! There's no comparable feeling! I have life, inside of me, right now. And I get to bring these lovely little ones into the world," Her voice dropped, and her gaze was on the little ones stirring within her. What would they look like? Would they be just as beautiful as she was...?
Oh, she was getting all excited again! Her tail thumped to and fro, and Skipping Stones turned back to her companion.
"I'm not used to taking company with talking animals! Are you typically a talker, or is there something I'm missing?"

Starburst gave a soft huffing laugh (cheetah's vocal chords simply weren't made for kin sounds) and smiled kindly at the doe. "Motherhood is certainly a wonderful time."
"I wouldn't say you're missing something, but you are right that animals typically talk... much less project thoughts," She got up and turned a few circles, gave one last stretch (her cheetah form was quite limber) and then from one nebulous moment to the next, went from cheetah to Kiokote, smiling at the doe. "As it were, I'm not a cheetah all the time."

"You sound as though you've been a mother yourself!" Skipping stones beamed, wriggling in delight at the cheetah's kindness. What a great story she would have for the little ones! If they could meet such interesting souls, tell such grandiose stories... oh, what delightful lives they would lead! She could only dream they would be so lucky.
When the cheetah stood, gave a few turns, and became a Kiokote, Skipping Stones gave a squeal of delight. Her forehooves stamped the grounds a few times while she giggled, and she would've sprung up to look the doe over had she been capable. Instead, she served to tilt her head this way and that, observing the strange doe before her.
"How marvelous! I've never heard of such a thing! What an incredible life you must lead!" Skipping Stones chirped with delight, watching the doe in amazement.
"This isn't normal for your species, is it?"

Smiling, Starburst settled onto the ground near the doe and nodded, "I have been a mother before. And now I have great grandchildren."
She said that with a tone of pride. She did not have much vanity when it came to her age.
"No, this isn't normal for Kiokote," she flicked her tail, "This was a gift from the MotherFather. You will meet kin of all kinds who can take the form of MotherFather's other animals. Acha who become Sanddogs, Kiokote who are Mongoose, Kimeti, Totoma, Zikwa, all kinds."
